Michael Scheyer, born in 1980 in southern Germany, successfully completed his studies in theater, film and television studies, philosophy and sociology at the University of Cologne in 2009. From 2011 to 2014, he did a traineeship at the Schwäbische Zeitung, where he worked for seven more years as an editor for various editorial departments and media. Since April 2021 he has been a freelance journalist, press officer and film producer.
Several of his short feature films have been shown at smaller festivals and won awards. In 2004, his short film "EX" received the 1st prize of the jury of the Kurz.Spiel.Filme of the Zebra Cinema in Constance. In 2013, his cross-media radio reportage "Nadine Schwimmt" was nominated for the Media Award of the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation. In 2017, he won the Media Award of the State Institute for Communication in the category "Current Feature" for the TV feature "Bürger rüsten auf".
