Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Stevens, and Billy Morrison team up on the new song “Crack Cocaine” from the latter’s upcoming album, The Morrision Project. The single is out now, along with a music video starring Paris Jackson.
Morrison — longtime rhythm guitarist in Billy Idol’s band and former bassist for The Cult — previously premiered the video for the album’s lead single, “Drowning,” right here at Heavy Consequence. His guest-filled LP also features contributions from Idol, Corey Taylor, Al Jourgensen, John 5, Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels, and Linda Perry, among others.
Morrison and fellow Billy Idol guitarist Stevens trade licks on “Crack Cocaine” as Ozzy delivers his haunting vocals on lines like, “Loving you is driving me insane/ I put you down and pick you up again … like crack cocaine.”

It’s easy to draw a lot of conclusions from the title of Ozzy Osbourne’s new single with friend Billy Morrison, “Crack Cocaine,” without listening to it. But the singer says it’s more nuanced than that. “The song’s not about crack cocaine,” the Prince of Darkness tells Rolling Stone on a call from his L.A. home. “It’s about being in love with a chick. But it’s kind of what you might think Ozzy Osbourne would do. It’s, like, the two loves in my life: drugs and women.

In addition to New Mexico being a serious place for filmmaking and TV series –the state reaping a record 855.4M from Hollywood’s motion picture & TV industry’s spending– Santa Fe itself counts a fervent moviegoing community, especially for arthouse and experimental product.
Audiences packed venues around town for the Santa Fe International Film Festival from Oct. 19-23 for films of all shapes and sizes at such venues as the George R.R. Martin owned Jean Cocteau Cinema; the Moorish, Spanish Renaissance 1931 built Lensic Theater; and the two-story, bistro cinema the Violet Crown in the swanky railroad district among others. In regards to the moviegoing spirit, think Toronto, but on a much smaller scale.

Victor Gabriel’s “Hallelujah,” Seemab Gul’s “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” and Joseph Pierce’s “Scale” have won the top awards at the 2022 HollyShorts Film Festival, which presented its prizes on Saturday afternoon in Hollywood — thus qualifying for this year’s Academy Awards.
“Hallelujah” won the Grand Prix for the festival’s best short, “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” took the honors as the best live-action short and “Scale” won for animation. HollyShorts is an Oscar-qualifying festival for the short-film categories, and the winners of those three awards are automatically entered in the Oscar race.
The award to “Hallelujah” was presented via video by this year’s Oscar winners for Best Live Action Short, “The Long Goodbye” filmmakers Riz Ahmed and Aniel Karia. The Oscar winners for the 2018 live-action short “Skin,” Jamie Ray Newman and Guy Nattiv, presented the awards to “Mulaqat/Sandstorm” and best-director winner Carlos Segundo (“Sideral”), respectively.
