It’s been a busy week in the Dick Wolf universe. The Law & Order creator scored a straight-to-series order for a new series starring Christopher Meloni reprising his Law & Order: Svu role as Elliot Stabler, as revealed today by Deadline. Tonight, it’s also the unexpected season finale of FBI after production on the CBS drama was shut down as a result of the coronavirus. The episode marks the long-rumored crossover between NBC’s Chicago P.D. and FBI – the first multi-network crossover in the Dick Wolf universe.
The episode is directed by Monica Raymund, best known for being in front of the camera in Wolf’s World as Gabriela Dawson, star of Chicago Fire from 2012-19. It is only Raymund’s third television directing gig after an episode of Svu in 2018 and an episode of FBI earlier this season.

Chicago Pd may be taking the week off, but one of its most popular characters will appear on FBI Season 2 Episode 19, airing tonight on CBS at 9/8c.
CBS has now released a new trailer for the milestone episode tha brings a character from the NBC series over to the Eye network.

For now, we know Tracy Spiridakos is headed to New York to serve a temporary assignment at the New York Bureau of the FBI.

Exclusive: CBS has put in development Truth & Justice, a crime drama from one of its top drama showrunners, Peter Lenkov, The Oath creator Joe Halpin and The Dirt author Neil Strauss. The project hails from Dan Lin’s Rideback and CBS TV Studios, where Lenkov and his 101st Street Entertainment are under a deal.
Written by Lenkov, former undercover cop Halpin and Strauss, Truth & Justice revolves around a disgraced cop-turned-pi and a down-and-out journalist, both seeking redemption, who team up and use nothing but their intellect, perseverance and profound empathy to dive deep into the lives of victims and perpetrators to deliver the justice that is so desperately needed in an otherwise flawed system.
Lenkov — via 101st Street — Halpin and Strauss executive produce with Donald Albright of podcast company Tenderfoot TV, and Lin and Lindsey Libertore for Rideback. Lenkov is a co-writer on the pilot only.

Viacom-owned British broadcaster Channel 5 has picked up the UK rights to Sony Pictures Television’s Crackle drama The Oath.
The network will launch the 50 Cent-exec produced drama on its digital service My5 as part of a strategy of bolstering the VOD platform with first-run exclusives.
The Oath, which has been renewed for a second season by Crackle, was created by Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-0) and explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend. It sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join—only a select few make the cut—but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks.
It stars Sean Bean, Ryan Kwanten, also a producer, Cory Hardrict, Katrina Law, Arlen Escarpeta and J.J. Soria. Rounding out the ensemble cast are: Elisabeth Röhm,...

Ryan Kwanten (Photo credit: Matt Byrne).
Half-way through shooting Seth Larney’s 2067 in Adelaide, Ryan Kwanten is convinced the sci-fi mystery thriller will have a lasting impact on moviegoers.
“There is something behind Seth’s vision which makes this feel like it’s more than a movie,” says the actor, whose extensive credits include HBO’s True Blood, Ivan Sen’s Mystery Road, Fox’s comedy New Girl and Peter Templeman’s Not Suitable for Children.
“It has a deeper consciousness and is one of those projects that I know will stay with me for a long time. It will play with people’s snap judgments: it’s not your classic case of good versus evil. There really isn’t a bad person in this movie. Everyone has intentions which they think are honourable.”

“I think when you have a format that’s only 10 episodes, and you know that you don’t have a studio or a network basically dictating what you can or cannot do, it leaves a lot of freedom to explore different realms,” says Katrina Law about Sony Crackle’s original series The Oath, adding, “It’s interesting that people are really gravitating to this because they do want to see something that is outside the box and not normally what’s tackled on network television … I don’t think a normal television show would tackle something this slice-of-life.”
Law and her fellow Oath star Cory Hardrict recently sat down for an episode of Deadline’s Next Generation TV video series to talk about their crime drama, which was just renewed for a second season on the streaming service. Sony Crackle says it is the platform’s most-watched new original series ever.

According to Sony, “The Oath” season 1 — which premiered March 8 with the bingeable release of all 10 episodes — has been Crackle’s most-watched original series ever and currently has the highest viewer-retention rate. Sony didn’t release specific metrics, however.
“The Oath” explores the secret underworld of gang crime rings — in which the members who make the cut take a pledge to do whatever it takes to protect each other from their enemies. Apparently Ed Asner nailed his guest-starring turn on the original Hawaii Five-0 back in the 1970s, because the crime drama’s current CBS incarnation asked him back — some 36 years later — to reprise the very same role in tonight’s episode, airing at 10/9c.
But you’ll have to forgive the actor if the details of that 1975 gig, as a smuggler named August March, didn’t instantly come flooding back when he got the call.
“No, I didn’t retain what I had done then. It was one of hundreds of TV roles I’ve played,” the seven-time Emmy winner tells TVLine.
