Tony Gwynn, the Hall of Fame batting champion, died Monday in Poway, Calif., after a long battle with cancer. He was 54.
Baseball's Tony Gwynn Dies
Gwynn’s death was announced by Major League Baseball, reported The New York Times. Over the last few years, the former Mlb standout had undergone numerous surgeries for cancer of the mouth and salivary glands. Though he’d continued to serve as San Diego State University's baseball coach throughout his cancer battle, he was forced to go on medical leave in the spring. Gwynn had blamed his cancer on dipping tobacco.
"Major League Baseball today mourns the tragic loss of Tony Gwynn," commissioner Bud Selig said in a statement Monday. "The greatest Padre ever and one of the most accomplished hitters that our game has ever known, whose all-around excellence on the field was surpassed by his exuberant personality and genial disposition in life.”

Tony Sheridan, the British singer, songwriter and guitarist who once fronted the Beatles, died Saturday (Feb. 16) in Hamburg, Germany. He was 72.
The news of his death was made public by his daughter Wendy Clare Sheridan-McGinnity, according to the New York Times.
Although he wasn't a part of the Beatles for long, Sheridan's involvement with the band was pivotal. He met the group -- which then included John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison on guitars, Stuart Sutcliffe on bass and Pete Best on drums -- when they arrived in Hamburg to work as a club band in 1960. Sheridan was already an accomplished singer, but took a liking to the Beatles. When Sutcliffe and Best left the band, McCartney took over on bass and Ringo Starr officially became the new drummer in 1962. (In recent years, Sheridan claims he helped arrange Starr's first few performances with the Beatles).

It's Christmas time tonight on NCIS, and Tony Dinozzo can't decide if he'll be naughty, nice or just plain uncomfortable when his dad, Anthony Dinozzo, Sr. (guest star Robert Wagner), comes to town.
In the sneak preview clip below, we learn an interesting fact about Tony Jr. For as long as he's been at NCIS, no team member has seen where the guy lives. This evening marks the big reveal there.
Two amazing moments from this sneak peek released by CBS:
Senior's "gimme some love" quote / gesture to Ziva Junior's facial expressions ... in general
Take a look at this teaser for "You Better Watch Out" and see:

Elsewhere tonight, the NCIS team is "following the money" in order to solve a murder investigation, and Abby is bursting with excitement over all the holiday festivities ... to the surprise of no one.

Our NCIS review broke down "Devil's Trifecta," last week's episode of TV's #1 show, in detail.
Now, TV Fanatic staff members Steve Marsi, Mary Powers and Eric Hochberger have assembled for our weekly Round Table Q&A discussion of various events and topics from this solid installment.
Join in as we analyze the return of Diane and many other aspects from the episode ...
----------------------------------
1. Describe this episode in one word (or two, or three, or four).
Steve: A walk on the lighter side.
Mary: Gibbs + Fornell = Fantastic !
Eric: A really fun time.
2. Favorite quotes or scenes from "Devil's Trifecta"?
Steve: Gotta be the look on Tim's face when Diane hugged him. Absolutely priceless. I also loved how Gibbs just stood there and watched them sleeping without saying a word, more puzzled than anything, while Fornell walked in and became noticeably jealous and uncomfortable - then made Tim even more so.

It's amusing to watch anytime someone can rattle Anthony Dinozzo Jr. and knock him off his wise-cracking, smooth-talking frat boy game, but no one does it quite like Tony Sr.
Last night's NCIS marked another stellar performance by guest star Robert Wagner as the Dinozzo patriarch, who again ended up in the middle of a murder investigation.
When it became clear that he was the team's best shot at uncovering the whereabouts of a "Broken Arrow," working undercover with Ziva no less, Tony Jr. almost lost it.
Michael Weatherly (Tony Jr.) and Robert Wagner (Sr.) are hilarious to watch.
Only NCIS would attempt an episode pertaining to a lost nuclear weapon potentially sold on the black market while keeping the mood lighter than most weeks, and have it work.
This speaks to the show's stellar writing as well as acting chops of Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and Wagner, who somehow...

Speechless, angry, joyful, confused, and heartbroken. If you experienced all of these feelings then you have just watched a Joss Whedon series finale.
If you take a look back at my wish list for what I wanted from the Dollhouse finale, you will see that I got only two and half of my wishes, but one big revelation made up for the other ones in abundance. All in all, I enjoyed tonight's episode, but I have seen and heard of others that did not. That's Ok, too, because this wasn't an ending for everyone. I mean, in my eyes, the ending of The Sopranos does not hold a candle to the epic ending of Angel. The latter was the one I was screaming at when I saw the credits appear all of a sudden. But without further adieu. I give you, Dollhouse – "Epitaph Two: Return"…

1. What was your favorite NCIS quote from last night?
The Barnacle: Abby: "Maybe Tony didn't have a mother. Maybe he was cloned!"
Dr. Shepherd: Tie between Tony's uncharacteristically pathetic "I needed a closer relationship," and Gibbs calling Ziva a "smart-ass" for knowing constitutional trivia.
M.L. House: Normally Dinozzo produces my favorite NCIS quotes, but I liked that his dad threw him so far off his game that the class clown had nothing all night.
2. Was Robert Wagner what you expected as Tony Sr.?

Last night's NCIS ostensibly revolved around an assassination attempt and a pair of Saudi princes, but it was really about fathers and sons. Specifically, ones named Dinozzo.
The show's 150th episode certainly did not disappoint. Check out our episode recap for the basic plot details if you missed it, then read our review of "Flesh and Blood" below ...
A Saudi Royal family member in a flight training program organized via the U.S. Navy was the target of an assassination attempt after his SUV exploded, killing his driver.
But an assassination attempt it was not. NCIS learns the bomb was triggered by mistake from the vibrations of a jet - and that the driver himself planted it the night before.
It turns out the prince's older brother, Abdalla, who also lives in D.C. and works as a Deputy Minister, was ashamed of Sayif's wild lifestyle and orchestrated the entire thing.

In preparing to write this review I struggled with how I wanted to approach the movie and the review. For those of you that know me, I am a Baltimore native and a first-generation fan of the Baltimore Ravens. When the Ravens drafted Michael Oher in the recent 2009 NFL Draft it was all over Espn and the NFL Network that a movie about his extraordinary young life was being filmed. From April till now I lobbied every month to be able to review this movie. When the trailer came out in September I started lobbying even harder. Eventually I was given the golden ticket to see the early screening. Why was this movie, out of all the other movies I have seen and will see, so big for me? Part of it was the civic pride of seeing one of my guys, a Baltimore Raven, have a story about him on the big screen.
