Breaking all moral and ethical codes, a genetic research company has developed a miracle device to sustain human life for the rich and powerful. When the company’s CEO (Erika Hoveland) refuses to approve these illegal methods, she and her husband (Billy Wirth) are kidnapped by a team of mercenaries hired by Oliver (Richard Tyson) to keep them out of the way. STXfilms has moved Chadwick Boseman’s action-thriller “17 Bridges” out of the crowded summer and into the early fall, swapping its July 12 release date for Sept. 27 in North America.
“Black Panther” star Boseman is producing and starring in “17 Bridges.” Brian Kirk, whose credits include “Luther” and “Game of Thrones,” is directing from a script by Adam Mervis.
Boseman will portray a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him.

Described as having a gritty Michigan backdrop similar to 8 Mile, the project is in pre-production and is expected to begin filming this autumn.
Leal said she was "excited to be joining such a talented cast in this emotionally charged script."
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Mayra's screen credits include appearing in the Robert Rodriguez-directed Machete, alongside Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal.

Three Michigan filmmakers are joining forces on a new crime thriller called Ashes of Eden, it's been announced.
The feature film is now in pre-production and is scheduled to shoot in Michigan in autumn 2012. It will be produced by New House Entertainment, Collective Development Inc and Ahptic Film & Digital.
The story will see the son of a single-female police officer steal from a ruthless drug dealer to save his mother from financial ruin. Descending into the brutal drug world to raise the cash, he is hunted by the dealer, the police and his own addictions.
Writer and director Shane Hagedorn (pictured below), who runs production company New House Entertainment, will also appear in the film as a character called Nichols. This is his second feature after 2008's The Model Father.

Horror icon Tom Savini has joined the cast of Secondary Heroes, it's been announced.
Tom's a veteran of the genre, with credits including the original and remake of Dawn of the Dead, as well as Friday the 13th, From Dusk Till Dawn and Machete.
You will recall Savini as the biker (called Sex Machine) with a groin-mounted gun in Robert Rodriguez' 1996 vampire classic From Dusk Till Dawn (see clip below), which also starred Harvey Keitel, George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino.
He's currently filming sequel Machete Kills - annouced at this year's San Diego Comic-Con - with Rodriguez back in the director's chair.
Savini is now on board the Stuart MacDonald directed comedy/horror script Secondary Heroes penned by fellow Michigan filmmaker DJ Perry. The film is being produced under Perry's Collective Development Inc banner www.cdiproductions.com in association with MacDonald's Boomerang Studios.
