With the original series premiering almost two years ago in January 2023, viewers have patiently waited for any and all news regarding the second season, which is set to adapt the second video game, The Last of Us Part II. We know that some TV shows have to come to an end. The writing is usually on the wall for some of them. The linear ratings are down, or the show just isn’t getting great reviews. However, this year, there were some cancellations that were completely unjustified. Or we lost great shows that just didn’t have the chance to find their audiences.

New reports reveal plans for a third season of HBO's massively popular series The Last of Us, with filming dates and locations now released.

According to Production Bulletin, not only is the third season of The Last of Us already in the works, but it also reportedly has a production start scheduled for Summer 2025. This is particularly surprising since Season 2 of the series has yet to premiere, but it highlights HBO's confidence in the franchise. Season 2 of The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal, is currently set to premiere in Spring 2025. This could mean that production on Season 3 may begin shortly after the final episode of Season 2 airs on HBO next year.

“Secret Level” has scored a Season 2 renewal at Prime Video after becoming the streamer’s largest animated series debut in its first week.

The anthology series, which premiered on Dec. 10 and is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, features 15 original short stories set within the worlds of some of fans’ most beloved video games, including “Pac-Man,” “Mega-Man,” “Unreal Tournament,” “Dungeons & Dragons” and “Warhammer 40,000.”

Season 1 features a star-studded cast from the worlds of Hollywood and gaming, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Luna, Temuera Morrison, Ariana Greenblatt, Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow, Ricky Whittle, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Merle Dandridge, Claudia Doumit, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Clive Standen, Laura Bailey and Michael Beach.

The aims of the animated anthology Secret Level, whose 15 shorts are based on video and tabletop games, are clear enough: As production company Blur Studio puts it on their website, “Secret Level is our love letter to gaming.” But despite the tangible earnestness of that claim, the series fails to shake off the cynicism of its commercial function and blinkered politics.
