Exclusive: Dale Dickey has been tapped for a heavily recurring role in the upcoming second season of Max comedy Bookie, from Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay.
Starring Sebastian Maniscalco and Omar J. Dorsey, the comedy series follows bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as he and his partner, former NFL star Ray (Dorsey), romp around Los Angeles trying to keep their illegal sports-betting operation in play.
Season 2 presumably will show [Spoiler Alert] whether Danny can win back the affections of his wife Sandra (Andrea Anders), after his Super Bowl win seems to have torn them apart, as well as Ray dealing with the fallout of his mother’s wedding, which saw the groom seemingly die at the altar.
Dickey will play Sandra’s (Anders) mother.
Bookie also stars Vanessa Ferlito as Danny’s side-hustling sister Lorraine, Jorge Garcia as reluctantly reformed drug dealer-turned-soccer expert Hector and Maxim Swinton as Sandra’s 10-year-old son.

Fans were so awed by Charlie Sheen‘s portrayal of a fictionalized version of himself in the Max series ‘Bookie’ that they have said so as many times as are needed for the show to decide to bring him in for the second ride.
So we’re soon going to be getting more Charlie Sheen playing Charlie Sheen. One can’t simply have enough of the guy, can we?
‘Two and A Half Men’s’ Creator Reveals Charlie Sheen’s Return In Upcoming Season of ‘Bookie’
There’s something satisfying about watching an actor of Sheen’s caliber poking fun at himself, and perhaps that’s why ‘Bookie’ creators have decided to bring him back onboard.
The season 1 of the show saw Sheen play a fictionalized version of himself in a recurring role. The show was recently renewed for another season run after it drew strong reviews from fans.

The mother of all reunions is not over yet: Chuck Lorre said at Deadline’s Contenders TV on Sunday that Charlie Sheen will return for a cameo (or two?) in season 2 of Max’s Bookie.
The former star of Two and a Half Men showed up in season one as himself in the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy. The reunion almost upstaged the comedy itself, which follows bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as he and his partner, former NFL star Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), romp around Los Angeles trying to keep their illegal sports betting operation in play.
“I’ve always been an admirer of his work. His work is impeccable,” Lorre told the audience. “After all this time, his chops are undiminished. It was an extraordinary experience to put everything behind us and work together again.”
Lorre’s co-creator on the comedy, Nick Bakay, said the two of them have been marveling about...

Max is doubling down on Bookie.
The Warner Bros. Discovery-backed streamer has handed out a second-season pickup for the series from comedy kingpin Chuck Lorre.
From creators Nick Bakay and Lorre and starring and based on the comedy of Sebastian Maniscalco, Bookie bowed Nov. 30 and wrapped its first-season run Dec. 21.
“The collaboration between Chuck and Sebastian has proven to be a winning hand and we’re looking forward to continuing the story with this incredibly talented cast and crew,” said Amy Gravitt, exec vp programming and head of comedy at HBO and Max.
The series, like all Lorre vehicles, is produced via his longtime studio, Warner Bros. Television.
“There’s no doubt that Chuck and Nick’s Bookie won big this season as they took us on a hilarious ride into the underbelly of illegal sports gambling, featuring a cast led by another dynamic duo: Sebastian Maniscalco and Omar J. Dorsey.

It’s quite a reunion in today’s premiere of Chuck Lorre’s new Max comedy series Bookie.
The episode revisits the poker scene in Lorre’s Two and a Half Men pilot, which reunites Lorre’s Two and a Half Men alums Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones.
In the Bookie premiere, Danny, played by Sebastian Maniscalco, heads to Malibu to collect a debt from Sheen, whom he finds at a rehab facility. But Sheen isn’t a patient at the facility; he’s actually hosting a weekly poker game, and one of the players is “Half Man” Angus T. Jones, who played 8-year-old Jake Harper opposite Sheen on Two and a Half Men. The scene also includes the same poker buddies who attended Charlie Harper’s poker game in 2003.
Lorre spoke about the scene in an interview with Extra. “Charlie and I were discussing recreating that poker scene.

The Bookie trailer mixes comedy and action as Danny (Maniscalco), a Los Angeles bookie who struggles to keep his business in check, and Ray (Dorsey), a former NFL player and Danny’s enforcer, attempt to collect a series of bets from increasingly shady characters.
Bookie revolves around a seasoned bookie (Maniscalco) struggling to survive the impending legalization of sports gambling. Hello Sports Interaction, Fan Duel, and Betway! While coping with apps designed to make intermediaries extinct, the bookie encounters unstable clients, family, co-workers, and a crumbling lifestyle while living in Los Angeles. Jorge Garcia, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, and Maxim Swinton also star.

Max has released a trailer and key art for Bookie, its upcoming eight-episode original comedy series from The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre.
Created by Lorre and Nick Bakay, the dark comedy revolves around longtime Los Angeles bookie Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco) and his roster of clients, one of whom is played by former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen as he returns to TV and reunites with Lorre twelve years after the actor’s dramatic Men exit.
Bookie will premiere Nov. 30 with two episodes. It will continue to release two episodes at a time every Thursday leading up to the season finale on Dec. 21.
In the trailer, Danny declares, “Nothing pisses me off more than people” while Sheen’s character proposes an out-of-the-box way of paying off his betting debts. The teaser, which you can watch above, also includes a plug...

Bookie: How Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men) Made Amends for the Max Comedy Series
Bookie (formerly titled How to Be a Bookie) is coming soon to Max, and the new comedy has reunited executive producer Chuck Lorre and actor Charlie Sheen more than a decade after their well-publicized falling out over Two and a Half Men.
In the new Bookie series, Sebastian Maniscalco stars as a veteran Los Angeles bookie named Danny. The future of his livelihood is being thrown into chaos with the potential legalization of sports gambling in California. Alongside best friend and former NFL player Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), side-hustling sister Lorraine (Vanessa Ferlito), and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector (Jorge Garcia), Danny must contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts, all while making plenty of risky bets of his own. Andrea Anders and Maxim Swinton also star. Sheen will recur, playing...

[This story includes spoilers for the Ted Lasso season three finale.]
Ted Lasso star and co-creator Brendan Hunt is answering several burning questions that were left unanswered by the season (series?) finale last week.
Hunt took to Reddit for an Ask Me Anything thread and spent some time providing responses to fan questions about everything from a possible relationship between Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) to the chances of a spinoff or fourth season.
“We don’t know,” the Coach Beard actor wrote about whether or not there’s a chance for more stories in the Ted Lasso universe. “We need a break and will take one presently. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible; but that includes the possibility that we’re done. We won’t know until we’ve sat with it for a while, decompressed, etc.”

[This story contains spoilers from “So Long, Farewell,” the third season — and possible series — finale of Ted Lasso.]
All season long, the people who make Ted Lasso have been somewhat coy about whether the end of their planned three-season arc would mark the end of the series. Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence and others have said multiple times that this season would mark the end of what they set out to do, while never quite stating that it would definitively close out the series.
The last installment of season three, “So Long, Farewell,” played no such games. The episode felt every bit like a series finale, with callbacks to the past and flash-forwards to the futures of several key characters (imagined or not; more on that in a few paragraphs). The fact that Ted Lasso is Apple TV+’s biggest series by far to date might mean that the streamer and Warner Bros. TV, which produces the show, might find a way to make a sequel or spinoff featuring...

When That ’70s Show ended, Wilmer Valderrama promised himself not to do the Fez voice again. However, things changed when 17 years later the sitcom got a sequel series on Netflix with That ’90s Show.
“You come around so many years later, you get an opportunity, and you get this phone call saying, ‘Hey, they’re bringing the band back together and it’s the same writers and the same producers and all of that. Will you be open to playing Fez again?'” Valderrama said during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “And I had to really think about it because first and foremost, I was like, ‘Can I still do the voice?'”
That ’70s Show ended in 2006 and Valderrama was ready to move on from the character he played on the Fox sitcom for 8 seasons adding, “I had sworn and literally promised myself that I would never...

[This story contains spoilers for Ted Lasso season three, episode eight: “We’ll Never Have Paris.”]
The eighth episode of Ted Lasso’s third season (and potentially its final season, depending on who you ask) sees several characters stuck inside of sad songs. And while it gets better for most of them, it doesn’t end so happily for everybody.
In “We’ll Never Have Paris,” written by Keeley Hazell and Dylan Marron, three romantic relationships shift through three very different phases. There’s new love in the form of Nate (Nick Mohammed) and Jade (Edyta Budnik). So new that “love” might even be too strong a word for it, but “boyfriend” is the exact right word as Jade makes her feelings for Nate plainly clear. There’s the potential for some restored love in the form of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and his ex-wife Michelle (Andrea Anders), who comes to London with her son Henry (Gus Turner) and new boyfriend Dr. Jake...

If pigs start to fly today, we’ll know why. According to Deadline, Charlie Sheen is reuniting with Chuck Lorre for the Big Bang Theory creator’s first comedy series at Max, How to Be a Bookie. It’s been twelve years since Sheen and Lorre stomped off in opposite directions. The duo collaborated on Lorre’s Two and a Half Men for an eight-year run before Sheen snapped and shredded Lorre publicly. Sheen’s outburst led to Lorre firing him from the mega-popular sitcom and killing his character. Ashton Kutcher replaced Sheen’s Charlie Harper on the show after Harper fell on subway tracks in Paris and got crushed by a train. Woof!
Deadline’s report says Lorre and Sheen have mended fences, with Sheen joining the new comedy in a recurring role for the single-camera comedy starring Sebastian Maniscalco. Sheen is trying to make a TV comeback, with...

File this under “extremely unlikely reunions”: Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre are set to work together again.
Sheen will have a recurring part on Lorre’s Max comedy How to Be a Bookie, starring comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The reunion for Sheen and Lorre will come 12 years after Sheen’s scorched-earth departure from CBS’ Two and a Half Men in 2011.
Max and Warner Bros. TV, which is producing How to Be a Bookie, declined to comment.
In 2011, Sheen’s erratic behavior and verbal potshots at Lorre, who co-created the hugely successful Two and a Half Men, led to his firing from the sitcom. His character, Charlie Harper, was written out by having supposedly died on a trip with stalker Rose (Melanie Lynskey) — though in the series finale, it’s hinted that Charlie is still alive. The show ends with a body double as Charlie having a piano dropped on him,...

Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre are officially back in business together, with the actor joining Lorre’s HBO Max series “How to Be a Bookie.”

Reps for Warner Bros. Television and HBO Max declined to comment.
Sheen and Lorre previously worked together on the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men.” Lorre co-created and executive produced the show, with Sheen starring. Los Angeles, April 13 (Ians) Chuck Lorre, who co-created ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as well as its spinoff ‘Young Sheldon’, is in the early stages of developing another comedy series derived from that via his overall deal at Warner Bros. Television.
The news came out of Warner Bros. Discovery’s press day announcing its new streaming service. If ordered to series, the new ‘Big Bang’ project would stream on Max, the company’s rebranded platform combining HBO Max and Discovery+, reports ‘Variety’.
No plot details were revealed during the Wbd presentation. And though nothing is set in stone, it is believed to be an hour-long series featuring a mostly new cast with potential for known ‘Big Bang’ stars to appear in guest spots.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ aired for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019 and brought the network major ratings successes by the end of its run, garnering just under 18 million viewers for its series finale.

[This story contains spoilers for “Big Week,” episode four of Ted Lasso season three.]
The “Big Week” of the title in this episode of Ted Lasso is AFC Richmond’s first meeting with West Ham, now led by former Greyhounds assistant Nate (Nick Mohammed). It’s a grudge match that gets extra grudge-y, even as Nate is still stewing in some very complicated feelings toward his former boss, Ted (Jason Sudeikis).
Nate’s heel turn at the end of season two shocked a lot of Ted Lasso viewers, to the point that even Mohammed was a bit surprised by the reaction. “People were angry. They took it really personally,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I can only think it’s because season one Nate, that arc was [he was the] underdog hired by Ted, does good and gets promoted. It’s something we can all cling on to because we love those stories. They’re sort of sports movie tropes. Because we were rooting for Nate, it...

It’s the (probable?) last season of “Ted Lasso,” so it makes sense that the show would aim as high as it can. When it comes to music, it makes even more sense that the Season 3 premiere would go after help from Beyoncé.
The first new episode of the Apple TV+ show in 17 months ends with Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) himself finding out that his ex-wife Michelle might have a new boyfriend. The darker, more somber version of the show we last saw in Season 2 might have gone for a moodier ending track. But here, instead, there’s the booming air raid siren that kicks off “Ring the Alarm,” a hit from Beyoncé’s 2006 album “B’Day.”
Finishing things off with that song was a stellar creative touch that came out of a moment of inspiration during Season 3 post-production, namely a conversation between writers and executive producers Joe Kelly, Sudeikis,...

Ted Lasso is a mess. From the first frame of Season 3 through its fourth episode (the last provided for review), Jason Sudeikis’ upbeat football coach is adrift, downtrodden, and asking for help. His wife and son remain 4,000 miles away. His panic attacks haven’t magically dissipated, though he is receiving treatment from Dr. Fieldstone (Sarah Niles). But the nagging concern for the perpetually unbothered optimist is a bit bigger than any one thing. It’s a question both familiar to everyone and specific to an individual; a question broader than a simple answer can provide, yet one that often requires decisive action to settle.
Ted wants to know why he’s here. When Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), his wizened sounding board, asks whether Ted means “here” as in London or “here” as in “here on this Earth,” Ted narrows it down a bit: Why am I in London? Why am I coaching AFC Richmond?...

Almost all of the original cast returns in That ’90s Show except for Danny Masterson, who played Steven Hyde.
