Exclusive: Shout! Studios has picked up North American rights to Caged (previously titled The S.H.U.), a social thriller starring Edi Gathegi of the Twilight Saga and X-Men: First Class fame.
Premiere Entertainment Group is handling the projects rights during the virtual Toronto market.
Melora Hardin, Angela Sarafyan, Tony Amendola, and James Jagger also star in the pic, which is an elevated genre film following an affluent African American psychiatrist (Gathegi) into federal prison after he is found guilty of murdering his wife (Sarafyan). He is then sent to solitary confinement – a victim of systemic racism.
Aaron Fjellman makes his feature directing debut on the project, from a script he co-wrote with James ‘Doc’ Mason. Pete Kirtley produced for Panic House Films alongside, Matthew C. Temple, Jessa Zarubica, and Fjellman. Edi Gathegi and Ryan Sage served as executive producers. Kirtley and Fjellman co-founded Panic House Films.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from watching anything put out by The Asylum, it’s that they make great comedies.
With parody after parody of whatever is making money at the box office, their films bare such a strong resemblance to their inspiration, that taking one seriously becomes a true test of strength. The latest creation, 8213: Gacy House is a combination of any found footage film, and any film documenting paranormal activity with a handheld camera. The film has just recently been released as of September 28th and the film involves several paranormal investigators teaming up to visit Gacy's old serial killing haunts. This killer murdered over thirty-three young men and it seems he is not done with his killing spree. Have a look at the trailer for the film and get set for a review on this title soon!

"John Wayne Gacy murdered 33 young men and boys between 1972 and 1978 in suburban Chicago. 26 bodies were found in a crawl space beneath his house and 3 others were buried in the backyard. Although the house was completely demolished during the exhumation of the bodies, on May 15, 2004 a group of paranormal investigators wired the home that was built in its place with paranormal detection and surveillance equipment.
