'I Hate Luv Storys' (2010)
Starring Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor
'I Hate Luv Storys' is a story about story—the process of story, why stories matter, the truth about life found in them. It's a defense of love stories, even as it pokes fun at their corniness. But this love story is a pale, muted version of the great Bollywood love stories of old, and while it aims to romanticize, it ultimately disparages.
Jay (Imran Khan) hates love stories. He wants to be a film director and he's working as an assistant to a big-time Bollywood director, Veer (Samir Soni), who is famous for his love stories. Jay hates his job, but he needs to pay the bills and pad his resume. Since his heart's not in it, he's always screwing up and on the verge of getting fired. Jay also hates love in general—he doesn't...

Movie Review: Mallika; Starring: Introducing Sheena Nayyar, Sameer Dattani, Himanshu Malik, Suresh Menon and Mamik; Director: Wilson Louis; Rating: *1/2 – Unintentionally hilarious.
Mallika is a technically well shot film with a very pathetic and clichéd screenplay. It tends to get so unintentionally hilarious at times that you forget you are watching a supposedly horror film.
Sanjana (Sheena Nayyar) is troubled by deadly nightmares every night. She sees a murder happening of the girl who stayed in the same apartment. Frustrated by her daily night torture.

Aamir Khan was seen at the I Hate Luv Storys success party which is rather odd as the actor is rarely seen at any or no social events. The actor made it a point to come to the party as Karan Johar made it a point to attend the Peepli Live music launch after he was invited by Aamir. However, sources claim that people should not read into this new friendship too much as now film is not the cards.
"Aamir invited Karan to his 'Peepli Live' music release. Karan invited him back for his Ihls party. That's it. To conclude that they are working together in a film is not just pointless, it's also unnecessary," claimed a source.
Aamir claim solo as did Imran Khan whose fiancé was apparently not in the country. However, that didn’t stop director Punit Malhotra from ensuring that everyone had a fun time at the gala.

Apparently, Sonam Kapoor the leading lady of I Hate Luv Storys (Ihls) was supposed to fly down to Mumbai for the celebration party on Saturday. Like a typical daddy’s girl, Sonam Kapoor was all blushes when her father Anil Kapoor showed up on the sets while she was shooting a romantic scene for the film I Hate Luv Storys.
Kapoor senior dropped by to see his daughter at work at the suburban sea-facing lounge where Sonam and co-star Sammir Dattani were ready to shoot a candlelight dinner scene, involving a proposal and a break-up.
However, Sonam was shy of shooting the romantic scene in front of her dad and reportedly asked director Punit Malhotra, with whom she has a budding friendship, to shoot the intimate scene later.
Puneet obliged and shot the solo close-ups on Dattani, while Sonam gave the cues by reading her lines alongside. It was only after Anil Kapoor had left the sets, did she get ready to shoot the romantic scene.

Well Done Abba
Well Done Abba has turned out to be a sort of a tragedy. Yes, it’s a satirical take on our system, more particularly how government schemes actually become cash cows for corrupt officials while the targeted beneficiaries – the common man – remain as poorly off as ever. It even raises occasional laughs, if not guffaws, through its ironic representation of all the loopholes in the system that are exploited to the hilt by those who are part of it. The victim being, the common man, in this case Armaan Ali of Chikkatpally near Hyderabad, who ekes out a living by driving the luxurious car of a well-off businessman in Mumbai and has a perky daughter back home to look after. With a gamut of characters that reflect the rot in the system in the backdrop of the growing lack of access to water across the nation, Well Done Abba,...

Drawn from the innermost recesses of its extraordinarily versatile, profound and prolific creator’s mind, somewhat like the water that emerges from Boman Irani’s well at the end of this delicately-drawn satire on babu-giri and red tapism, ‘Well Done Abba’ is a little sparkling gem of a film.
Its humour, warmth and tenderness are not as easily obtainable as in Benegal’s last comedy ‘Welcome To.

Movie Review: Well Done Abba; Star cast: Boman Irani, Minissha Lamba, Sameer Dattani, Rajit Kapoor, Ila Arun, Ravi Kissen, Salim Ghouse and Sonali Kulkarni; Director: Shyam Benegal; Rating: *** – Witty political satire.
Shyam Benegal’s political satire, Well Done Abba narrates the tale of Armaan Ali (Boman) who works as a driver with a big businessman in Mumbai. After he arrives back from his leave, his boss decides to sack him since he came back after 3 months instead of the allotted 1 month leave. It is then when Armaan narrates the story behind his 3 months.

Working with Shyam Benegal is almost every serious actor's wish and when actress Minissha Lamba got a chance to do so, she says, she could be 'nothing but perfect'. She terms their film 'Well Done Abba' an 'educative trip'.'Much before beginning to shoot for the film, I was sure about one thing that I couldn't let Shyam sir down. Here I was working with a man who has been directing for 35 years now so I had to be nothing but perfect with my performance,' Minissha told Ians. With such a senior person calling the shots, wasn't it intimidating?'Honestly, it wasn't intimidating because Shyam sir is a pro in working with actors. He knows how to take care of them and extract the best out of them. This is why I didn't even know how an entire month passed by and the shooting got over.'More than him calling the shots,...

Actress Minissha Lamba admits her ultra-glamorous look in 'Kidnap' opened a whole new range of opportunities for her. But the young actress, who will be seen in Shyam Benegal's new film, feels that at the end of it talent plays an important role.'My looks in 'Kidnap' helped open a whole new and different range of opportunities for me. It is something I cherish. Being good looking is important, but not always. You need talent as well. If you have talent, people accept you regardless of the way you look,' Lamba told Ians over telephone from Mumbai. She also feels being short is not a disadvantage in the film industry.'If you are a model, having height is imperative, but cinema is a medium where it doesn't matter. You are on a platform where being tall or short loses relevance,' she said.After...

Film: ‘Kutti’; Director: Mitran R. Jawahar; Cast: Dhanush, Shriya Saran, Sameer Dattani, and Radha Ravi; Music: Devi Sriparasad; Rating:**1/2
Exactly a year after ‘Padikkathavan’, Dhanush is back with ‘Kutty’, a remake of Telugu superhit ‘Arya-1′. ‘Kutty’ is not the regular kind of entertainer Dhanush does.
With this film, Dhanush is also back with Jawahar, who had made him successfully tread the family sentiment path in ‘Yaradee Nee Mohini’. ‘Kutty’ is essentially about how the hero handles a one-sided love affair and whether his faith ultimately pays off or not.
