From The San Francisco Chronicle, March 31st, 2002: I see boxing as performance art. When I'm in a match, I'm serving myself
up completely. I'm right there in the moment, and there's something
precious about that. When I'm in the ring, I'm ready to dig deep into
my soul to see what's there. It's hard to summon that type of
revolutionary courage during a visit to the mall, or when you're stuck
in traffic.
