On January 6, 2023, “M3GAN” is released in theaters nationwide. The sci-fi comedy horror flick from director Gerard Johnstone stars Allison Williams as Gemma, a robotocist for a toy company who unexpectedly becomes the caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw). In an effort to ease her stress and provide a companion for the youngster, Gemma pairs the child up with a M3GAN prototype to help keep her safe. Unfortunately, the doll takes on a life of it’s own!

On October 13, Shudder premiered “Dark Glasses,” the highly anticipated return from the master of horror, Dario Argento. Fleeing her predator, a young escort (Ilenia Pastorelli) crashes her car and loses her sight. She emerges from the initial shock determined to fight for her life, but she is no longer alone. Defending her and acting as her eyes is a little boy, Chin (Andrea Zhang), who survived the car accident. But the killer won’t give up his victim. Who will be saved?
Reviews for the thriller are mixed, earning it a current score of 58 on Rotten Tomatoes to date. But what exactly are critics saying about Argento’s latest?

The iconic animated duo Beavis and Butt-Head are back to the delight of fans after the Paramount+ premiere of ‘Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head’ on August 4. They haven’t changed much since viewers last saw them, but their inane adventures have indeed scored with a good portion of critics and viewers alike. The result is a 100 freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes and some glowing reviews. Heh. Heh. Scored. But what exactly did the critics think?
Daniel Feinberg of the Hollywood Reporter begins by stating that Beavis and Butt-head are essentially “a template for 21st-century trolling that would not exist without Mike Judge.” Truer words were never spoken. But what exactly is the idiotic duo doing this time around? “Through the two half-hour episodes sent to critics, the answer is that Beavis and Butt-Head are predictably watching a lot of TikTok and they’re rather hilarious doing so.” Feinberg continues,...

True Blood Season 7 Recaps Will Be Found At Shock TIll You Drop.
Full disclosure: True Blood lost me during season four – the season with the witches. I dug the show up until that point, but then they had the ridiculous witches and all the fairy nonsense, and that was it for me. So atrociously bad was season four that I have never quite forgiven the show. Season five, with the Authority, was weak salve on an open wound. Season six, with the vampire detention centers, was genuinely interesting – until they brought in Warlow and the whole fairy vampire princess garbage.
So frankly, I am ready for the show to wrap.
The good news about the season seven premiere: no fairyworld crap. The bad news: there wasn’t a whole lot else going on, either.

Back in January of last year, our own Alyse Wax had a fascinating interview here on Fearnet with Arizona pastor Bob Larson, who around that time had served as a consultant on The Devil Inside. In the interview, Larson stated that he had conducted over 15,000 exorcisms in his 30+ years on the job, going on to say that demonic possession is a whole lot more common than you might think.
A full time exorcist, who rids the world of demonic spirits six to seven days a week, Larson is now using the internet to expand his reach, in his never-ending quest to use the power of Christ to compel demons to leave their human hosts. Though it's not exactly the power of Christ he's now using, but the power of Skype.
Yes, Larson is now conducting exorcisms via Skype video chats, charging $295 for 60-minute sessions. A total scam, or an exorcist...

This season of The Walking Dead (based on the comic by producer Robert Kirkman) is on track to be one of the best seasons yet. It's receiving huge fan approval, and at the New York Comic Con the cast and crew gave fans some insight into the upcoming season and how they feel about their characters.
Already at the mid-season finale mark (see Alyse Wax's detailed recaps for more), we've seen the return of the Governor (David Morrissey); Carol (Melissa McBride) has been banished; and many of the new arrivals to the prison have died. It almost seemed for a time that Hershel (Scott Wilson) and/or Glenn (Steven Yeun) might die of the flu-like illness, with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) determined to join them. Carl (Chandler Riggs) is continuing to prove that – despite his father's wishes – he can protect himself and others. Michonne (Danai Gurira) is officially an irreplaceable member of the crew.

One of the most fun aspects of hitting up the festival circuit is getting to see a slew of highly anticipated films in advance and then getting the chance to discuss them with like-minded enthusiastic genre fans and peers. And so, with the batch of new up and coming movies playing at this year's 2013 Fantastic Fest, FEARnet editor in chief Lawrence Raffel along with staffers Alyse Wax and Sarah Shannon; Shock Till You Drop's Ryan Turek; Badass Digest's Brian Collins; and Fangoria's Sam Zimmerman took part in a roundtable discussion. Among the films they talked about? The 'We Are What We Are' remake, 'Grand Piano' starring Elijah Wood & John Cusack, 'Coherence,' Álex de la Iglesia's latest 'Witching & Bitching' and many more. What'd they think of all of these titles and more? Find out below!

Since Lionsgate just debuted these 3 awesome Comic-Con 'I, Frankenstein' posters a few days back, we decided to drop by their table here on site at Sdcc to see if there were any other goodies from the movie lurking around their table. As far as preview night goes, swarms of fans decended upon the Lionsgate booth in an attempt to score 'Ender's Game' posters, so while it doesn't look like they've broken out any new 'I, Frankenstein' stuff just yet, we caught glimpse of this new banner. And below that, FEARnet staffer Alyse Wax bumped into a fan with this kick-ass 'I, Frankenstein' tattoo!
The official panel for 'I, Frankestein' isn't until Saturday afternoon, so we'll keep our eyes peeled to see if Lionsgate breaks out anything new to share. In the meantime, hit up the official 'I, Frankenstein' Facebook page to keep tabs on the new flick, which...

Regardless of what department they work in, everyone at FEARnet loves scary movies. So we asked the entire company to help us pick the best fright flicks of the year. In no particular order...

"I went in blind not knowing much more than a plot line and Ethan Hawke was the lead. What happened next was me being scared in a theater for the first time in years. So much so, that I actually gripped up the armrests every time a new 8mm film was played. Needless to say, that last one is a doozy."
- Sarah Shannon, Programming
"Absolutely the best theatrical horror film I’ve seen in many, many years. Creepy, scary, suspenseful, a good story and a very solid, understated performance from Ethan Hawke."
-Rick Kent, Standards & Practices
"Atmospheric, frightening and surprisingly shocking."

Zap2it got some face time with "Chuck's" Scott Krinsky at the premiere for "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1" Monday night (Nov. 14), and our first question was, naturally, what are you doing at the "Breaking Dawn" premiere?
"I'm a big 'Twilight' fan. ... I've seen all the movies," he says.
Ok then. Krinsky also told us a little bit about what we can expect from his character, Jeff, and Jeffster! on the remainder of "Chuck's" final season, starting with what happened to Jeff in last week's episode.
"Last week I got 'cured.' I can't tell you [if it will last]," he says. "But it was really fun for me. I'm sort of aware of the world around me now."
Both Jeff and Lester (Vik Sahay) have shown hints of moving past Jeffster! in the early episodes this season, but Krinsky says we haven't seen the last of them. "Jeffster! has had a lot more to do this season,...

Monday (Nov. 14), the stars of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" drew die-hard fans of the vampire movies to Hollywood for the penultimate premiere of the long-running saga. Zap2it was on the red carpet chatting up film's stars, including Taylor Lautner and Nikki Reed.
Fans had been camped outside of Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre since Thursday (Nov. 10) in the hopes of catching sight of the film's stars. The movie opens nationwide on Friday, Nov. 18. The final movie in the "Twilight" franchise is expected to hit theaters in summer 2012.
Zap2it: Jacob makes a big discovery this time about who he can and cannot love. Tell us about that.
"It was tough at first. Jacob has been going for one thing this entire franchise, and that is Bella. When he realizes that isn't happening, he doesn't handle it very well at all. But he grows up a lot in this one,...

Pauley Perrette isn't just "NCIS'" multi-talented Abby Sciuto, she's also a singer/songwriter and, it turns out, a big supporter of charities, including the Hope Gardens Family Center, where on Tuesday (Sept. 13), she helped unveil a new fishtank -- created by the guys at Animal Planet's "Tanked" -- for the site.
Zap2it was on hand and caught up with Perrette about NCIS and her philanthropy.
How did you get involved with Hope Gardens?
There was a time a couple years ago that, due to funding and a lack of donations, Hope Gardens was going to close. Which would have meant the women and kids would be taken right out of this environment and put back on Skid Row. We started a huge Twitter campaign - @PauleyP -- that's how I got started, now I'm a Twitter-holic. At that time, we had like eight or nine days, or else...

The traditional last week of the summer movie season kicked off in fine fashion as the Eli Roth-produced Last Exorcism finished in a not-at-all-unimpressive close second place at the weekend box office. This Saturday night marks the premiere of Syfy's latest cryptozoological creature feature, Mothman. Earlier this week I somehow got invited to get up extra early (by my standards) to take part in a conference call Q&A with stars Jewel Staite and Connor Fox.
Perhaps it was lack of sleep that led to me realize shortly after the call began that I had no earthly clue what the heck to ask either of them. Could also have been due to having not seen the film and Syfy not having done much to promote it until the past couple days.
I'm guessing most of the other callers taking part also had some difficulty coming up with questions to ask considering someone actually asked them to compare Louisiana and California movie catering. Anyway, here's the transcript of the call for those interested in hearing more about Mothman as well as "Stargate", "Firefly...

We didn't realize how much we enjoyed watching Fringe until the season ended. It's true what they say, that you don't know what you've got until it's gone. The good news is that Fringe has officially been renewed by Fox for Season 2, the bad news is we need to wait until the fall to see a new episode. Much like we did with Dollhouse last week, we decided to ask our favorite Fringe bloggers where they think the series is headed for Season 2. We may not have the option of watching it but we do have the next best thing - we can talk about it. Alyse Wax - FEARnet I feel pretty confident that Fringe will not go down the same path as Lost – as in, it won't become a tangled mess....

Since news broke this weekend that Fox is renewing Joss Whedon's Dollhouse for the fall, we thought what better way to celebrate than predicting where the dolls and actives might be going next season? Even better, we asked some Dollhouse experts from Topless Robot, Television Without Pity and Watching Dollhouse to help us out. Hit the jump to find out what they had to say. Alyse Wax – FEARnet I don't think that Alpha will be the "big bad" next season. He will certainly be a factor, and probably pop up now and again, but he won't be a major focus. I also don't think the new relationship between Ballard and the Dollhouse will be as symbiotic as either party thinks. DeWitt...

Dollhouse Episode 12 "Omega" Written and Directed by: Tim Minear Original Airdate: 8 May 2009 By Alyse Wax In This Episode… We've got a lot of body and personality swapping going on here, so stay with me. First, we finally have Alpha's backstory. His real name is Carl William Kraft (as Boyd so astutely pointed out, three names is always trouble). He was in prison for kidnapping and attempted murder – after being held prisoner for three days, his victim escaped. In the early days of the Dollhouse, prisoners were used for testing purposes, in exchange for commuted sentences. But for whatever reason, Alpha's wipe never took...
