I love this story! Chris St. Croix and David Buchert are the co-creators of a new web series entitled Night Terrors. They've had the first episode, "The Keeper", taken down from several sites around the internet for containing "objectionable content". Well, the boys contacted Dread Central with their conundrum, and (being the fans of objectionable content that we are) we said, "Boys, you've got a home."
St. Croix and Buchert have teamed with Dread Central to share Night Terrors with a group of people they know are fucked up enough to enjoy their work: the twisted Dread Central fan base. This offering, "Episode 1: The Keeper", was written by St. Croix and produced by Buchert and stars Katie Groshong, Emily Byrd, Tristan Jackson, Clay Brocker, Jordan Stephens, Adam Sanner, and Scott Aaker. The runtime is 25 minutes.

After hearing that Darrin Dickerson's no-budget mercenaries vs. mutants flick D4 won "Best Feature" at the Paranoia Film Festival I contacted him for details on when the film will be available for a spin. His answer was basically 'sooner than you think.'
The DVD is already available to order and will be shipped out next week, July 7, 2010. The coolest part? A percentage of profits will be donated to epilepsy awareness.
Synopsis:
A team of ex-military mercenaries is hired by a wealthy doctor to rescue her kidnapped child from a supposedly abandoned government facility. Once inside, they discover they're not alone, and what was meant to be a simple search and rescue quickly turns into a fight for survival.
D4 stars Eric Berner, Clay Brocker, Darrin Dickerson, Jaimee Gray Simon, Jeff Hime, Ted LeGarde, Vicki Askew, Greg Wilson, Jennifer McReynolds, "Big" Mike Ulm and Laine Dubroc.

Remember that stripped-down and truly badass teaser we showed you for indie scifi actioner "D4" back in October? Well director Darrin Dickerson just got in touch to pass along a full length trailer and to let us know that the film just won "Best Feature" at the Paranoia FilmFestival in Los Angeles this past weekend and has been placed in a few foreign territories and will be made availablein the U.S. in July. He's offering up a screener too, so watch for a review soon.

So, I’ve never heard of Darrin Dickerson, but according to IMDb.com, he’s been around for a while making short films. His feature-length debut is “D4″, and he’s not just the writer/director, but also the star. That sounds like a tad much for a first-time director to have on his plate, but hey, if the rest of “D4″ is as interesting as this quick teaser trailer, then he might just prove talented enough to pull it off. Now this is how you tease viewers. Dump them into a particularly tense segment of your film - preferably one that takes place at the apex of a crucial action - and then yank them out as quickly as you brought them in.
That's what first time director Darrin Dickerson does in this first teaser for his mercenary scifi actioner, D4, and it works to make me want to see more. It's mid-budget project, but the acting, photography and sound all look pretty damn good. No this isn't a prequel to District 9 or is it a spin off of District 13. Also, I'm getting a real cool Doom vibe that I hope the film lives up to.
