- As a self described movie addict, Ian Lyons knew he had to work in showbiz. After a stint behind the scenes as a production assistant on several TV shows ("Scrubs," "Party Of Five," "All That," "The Amanda Show," "Sabrina The Teenage Witch"...), Ian soon realized (cause those hours sucked) that he was better suited for the other side of the camera.
With his priority always on love and life, Ian savors those moments between jobs with his lovely wife of over 27 years, his two amazing sons, and of course his 2 dogs and 2 cats. He's the luckiest dude in the world.
After two open-heart surgeries, Ian's refurbished ticker is as passionate as ever and raring to go. He credits his most cherished on-set experiences to acting opposite David Hyde Pierce (as his twin) and Sarah Lancashire (as her bother-in-law) in HBO's sadly short-lived "Julia," and to his exhilarating confrontation opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "The Judge." He looks forward to the cherished on-set moments to come.
Keep an eye out for Ian in these exciting upcoming projects - "Shattered Ice," "Imposters" and "TOX."- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous

- At Ian's callback audition for "Colin Mitchell" in CBS' Madam Secretary, casting director Mark Saks told Ian to perform his emotional role to executive producer (actor) Eric Stoltz - meaning Eric would be Colin's wife.. It was a stretch, but luckily Ian got the part.
- Summer 2013, Ian learned he booked the role in Warner Brothers' The Judge opposite Robert Downey Jr, but was scheduled for open heart surgery just 2 weeks prior to the film. Originally he was cast for one day on set, but was then asked if he'd be interested in being one of the chosen jurors, now working 2 weeks...of course he said yes.. But with the scheduled heart surgery Ian had a problem... It would take 6 weeks to recover and he would only have 2... Ian quickly moved his heart surgery up so have it sooner so he would be healed in time for the shoot. Of course he couldn't miss this opportunity to act. Actors... Anyway, the heart surgery went great. 7 weeks later he was on set having a scripted argument with Robert Downey Jr. Downey Jr. was generous enough with his time to even stay for Ian's coverage (close-up). Ian was riding high after that shoot and even enjoyed an additional 2 weeks on set for re-shoots in LA. Unfortunately, this argument would never make the final cut of the film, but it remains an experience Ian won't soon forget.
- The opportunity (the audition) is the cake. Anything beyond that is simply the icing (the callback, the booking, the paycheck, the residuals, the nomination, the award...). Needless to say, the more icing there is, the sweeter it is, but I'm more than willing to take my icingless cake and eat it too.
