Acting is often a pretty fun job, but sometimes it can get downright traumatizing. There are loads of stories about horror movie actors who were changed forever after their performances, like Shelley Duvall being tormented by Stanley Kubrick on the set of "The Shining." But that kind of on-set awfulness unfortunately exists in all kinds of entertainment, like the brutal HBO fantasy drama "Game of Thrones."
The series ran for eight seasons and featured some truly despicable characters doing awful things to one another, including torture. There's actually quite a bit of torture in "Game of Thrones," ranging from a man being disemboweled by a terrified rat in a bucket at Harrenhal to Ramsay Bolton's (Iwan Rheon) extended abuse of Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), who becomes the feeble-minded and broken Reek on account of it. Torture is big business in Westeros and Essos, and even the Queen of the Seven...

Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham gave a photographer a piece of her mind at the Olivier Awards on Sunday (April 14) after being asked to “show leg” while walking the red carpet. The Emmy-winning actress, who hosted the annual theater awards ceremony, was making her way down the steps of London’s Royal Albert Hall when a photographer made a comment about her legs. In a video shared by the account @odeiotedlasso on X (formerly Twitter), Waddingham is seen reacting to a man off-screen. “Oh my God, you’d never say that to a man,” she is heard saying. She continues, “Don’t be a d**k, otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say, ‘Show me leg.’ No.” long story short: hannah was being her gorgeous self and the made some comment about her leg we couldn’t quite make out and… well, the video speaks for itself. Exclusive: Jamie Lloyd, director of the history-making reimagining of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard, reveals that his star Nicole Scherzinger initially “refused to consider” accepting his offer to play Norma Desmond in the show adapted from Billy Wilder’s 1950 classic.
“Nicole was not flattered,” he gasped, speaking to Breaking Baz backstage at the London theatre awards, held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night.
Lloyd says that the show’s “obviously associated with Glenn Close’s iconic performance and therefore people think about Norma Desmond being a much older woman.”
Mmm, that’s unlikely to amuse Glenn Close.
He tells me that Scherzinger, a one-time member of The Pussycat Dolls, called Norma Desmond a “has been” and stormed at Lloyd that she “still looks good under the bright lights.”
Lloyd encouraged her to study Don Black and Christopher Hampton’s book and lyrics and to listen to Lloyd Weber’s music.

As part of its big CinemaCon Presentation this year, Paramount let loose a barrage of animated movie news, not the least of which was word that Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are aboard to lend their voices to what is currently titled Aang: The Last Airbender.
Yes, with interest perked back up in the franchise thanks to the Netflix live-action take, Paramount naturally wanted to offer an update about its animated film version. Alongside Bautista and Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza are in the voice cast, while original animated Airbender series veteran Lauren Montgomery is directing. The film will be in cinemas October 2025.
But that wasn't all – there was also a voice cast update for the next animated Smurfs film, which has Rihanna playing Smurfette (along with writing music and producing) has bolstered its star complement with Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Jp Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris,...

A lively CinemaCon presentation closed out with spectacular first footage from Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II as studio top brass mostly put speculation of mergers and acquisitions behind them to focus on a rich upcoming slate.

There was no recorded segment of Cruise dangling from the International Space Station announcing the new title, and no sneak peaks.

The SAG-AFTRA recently presented Hannah Waddingham with a career retrospective in recognition of her 20-year career as an actress, singer, and TV presenter. She is most notably known for her role as Rebecca Welton in the sports comedy-drama Ted Lasso, for which she has won several accolades, including an SAG, a Critics Choice, and an Emmy.
Wearing a striking red cardigan and skirt co-ord, the 49-year-old actress made an impression at the event held in her honor at The SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Center in New York City.
Though she’s currently busy promoting her next action-comedy movie, The Fall Guy, starring Barbie’s Ryan Gosling and Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt, Waddingham was giving Ted Lasso’s Rebecca Welton in her red knit Self Portrait outfit. Her naturally elegant, poised, and confident aura had me enamored.

Hannah Waddingham revealed on “The Late Show” that she’s had “chronic claustrophobia” ever since filming that “horrific” waterboarding scene for “Game of Thrones.” The “Ted Lasso” Emmy winner starred in the seres as Unella, one of the Septa of the Faith of the Seven who brutally tortures Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). When Cersei regains her power, she turns the tables by imprisoning and punishing Unella.
“‘Thrones’ gave me something I wasn’t expecting from it, which was chronic claustrophobia,” Waddingham said. “It was horrific. Ten hours of being actually waterboarded. Like actually. I’m strapped to a table with all these leather straps. I couldn’t lift up my head because I said that would be too obvious that it’s loose.”

Hannah Waddingham is a well-respected actress, who starred in the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones. The actress has a wealth of experience in the industry and an admirable body of work.
Since the series ended in 2019, Waddingham has starred in other noteworthy shows, such as Ted Lasso. However, the character Waddingham played on the show could not have been more different from the role she played on the HBO show. As with most characters on the show, Waddingham’s character also met with a gruesome end, and shooting the scene was an awful experience for her.

Hannah Waddingham credits Game Of Thrones with transforming her career, but she didn’t love everything about filming the epic HBO series.
Waddingham played religious zealot Septa Unella in the Thrones franchise and featured in a torture scene, in which Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Headey, poured wine on her face.
She told The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that they filmed the scene for 10 hours and it was like being “actually waterboarded” in a quest for authenticity.
Waddingham said the scene was “horrific” and, five years on from the final season, she continues to have “chronic claustrophobia” as a result of her experience.
Waddingham said she had discussed the condition with Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss since filming had wrapped. “Thrones gave me something I wasn’t expecting,” she said.

Before Hannah Waddingham became an Emmy-wining household name for her work in Ted Lasso. She had a very memorable role in Game of Thrones as Septa Unella, the religious zealot who tortures Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) with that unforgettable walk of “shame” and is later left to be tortured by her henchman Gregor Clegane aka the Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson). All together, Waddingham starred in eight episodes across Seasons 5 and 6, but it was her final appearance in the decorated HBO series that left her with lasting scars — at least, figuratively speaking. Waddingham appeared on Monday night’s edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote her new movie with Ryan Gosling, The Fall Guy, and revealed just how excruciating her sendoff scene in the series was to film. “There weren’t stunts, but Thrones gave me something I wasn’t expecting from it and that is chronic claustrophobia,...

She will also be seen in the upcoming Twisters, where she says, “We filmed a tornado movie during tornado season in Tornado Alley.” She would reveal that her character is “a little sillier” than she has been used to, but she won’t go as far as to call it a comic relief role. “I don’t want to say comedic role, and then everyone’s like, ‘She wasn’t funny.’ We’ll say it’s silly and fun.”

As last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (which has dropped the “Part One” subtitle since it hit home video) wrapped up, we saw that Tom Cruise’s Imf agent lead character Ethan Hunt would live to run another day – and pictures from the set of Mission: Impossible 8 (which won’t be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two after all) show him doing just that! Cruise running is a big part of these movies and his overall career, so it’s nice to see that Mission: Impossible 8 will indeed have him moving across the screen as fast as his legs can carry him. There’s even some video from the set as well, if you want to see this run in action.

Catch another look at next month’s The Fall Guy, which has everything apart from Ryan Gosling singing. Here’s the new trailer:
Following his performance of I’m Just Ken at this month’s Oscars, Ryan Gosling is set to play another take on the ‘I’m just an overlooked dude’ character, this time as the amazingly-named Colt Seavers in The Fall Guy.
A new trailer has having landed for the action romance, out next month. And along with a Gosling voiceover – and a one-liner that raised our anticipation threefold – it looks like we’ll be seeing him do lots of stunt work as he portrays TV’s most famous fictional stuntman. It’s a big screen reimagining of the 1980s television show that starred The Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors.
The show, from producer Glen A Larson followed Majors’ stuntman, Seavers, as a movie stuntman by...

Oscar nominees Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are the Barbenheimer comedy duo we didn’t know we’ve been waiting for in The Fall Guy. Trailer number two shows off more of the chemistry between Gosling and Blunt while also delivering more action, more humor, and enough shirtless Gosling scenes to keep audiences satiated until the film’s theatrical release on May 3, 2024.
Joining Gosling and Blunt in the action comedy are Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), Winston Duke (Black Panther franchise), and Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
Drew Pearce (Hobbs & Shaw) wrote the screenplay, stuntman David Leitch directed, with Leitch, Gosling, Kelly McCormick, and Guymon Casady produced. Executive producers include Pearce, Geoff Shaevitz, and the creator of the original Fall Guy television series, Glen A. Larson.
