Older brother of Liam O'Donnell.

Nephew of Lawrence O'Donnell.

He is 100% Irish, third generation Irish-American. His great grandfather, Patrick O'Donnell, was a boxer of some note while serving in the White Fleet Navy during WWI. Patrick's entire body was covered in tattoos, ending at his wrists, ankles, and neck. "Jab 'n' Jump Back", Kevin's first play, is about Patrick.

Actor Dylan Baker played his father, Kevin O'Donnell Sr. in the film A Case of Deadly Force (1986), based on the book written by his uncle, Lawrence O'Donnell. Actor Richard Crenna played his grandfather.

Played guitar and sang for Boston punk bands Fun in the Kitchen and Pollux. Michael Equi played bass in both bands. Dave Norton, who currently plays drums for the band Victory at Sea, played drums for Pollux.

Earned a scholarship to study acting at the Juilliard School (2004 graduate).

Once worked for a friend's landscaping company. Kevin and his friends would cut Steven Tyler's lawn every week.

His play, "No More Static", was performed at the Guthrie Theatre Lab in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2003.

O'Donnell received rave reviews playing "Charles Surface" the roguish, drunken, charmer with a heart of gold. Bedford also directed.

Won the prestigious Laura Pels Award upon the completion of his final year of actor training at the Juilliard School in New York City.
