The Forge has nabbed the U.S. distribution rights to Brendan Gabriel Murphy’s new psychological horror film “Fluxx,” giving it a limited theatrical run beginning May 30.
Starring Shelley Hennig (“Unfriended”), Shiloh Fernandez (“Evil Dead”), Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost”), Charlotte McKinney (“Fantasy Island”) and Tyrese Gibson (“Transformers”), “Fluxx” takes viewers on a trippy time loop after a film actress is forced to confront her husband’s mysterious disappearance while being unable to leave her Hollywood Hills home.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Forge to bring ‘Fluxx’ to audiences,” Murphy said in a statement. “It’s a film about identity and control in an increasingly disorienting world, and I can’t wait for people to experience it.”
On behalf of The Forge, the deal was negotiated by CEO Mark Sayre and head of acquisitions Decker Sadowski. On behalf of Vmi Worldwide, which handled North American rights, EVP and...

Now that she’s away from the mob, Charlie (Natasha Lyonne) can finally build her life on her own. However, knowing Charlie, she finds herself roped into absurd schemes through no fault of her own. “The Taste of Human Blood” is one of those episodes, with plenty of absurdity hanging over it. Luckily, it’s got the TV vets and comedic actors to pull off the ridiculous premise with brilliant execution. Kumail Nanjiani and Gaby Hoffman lead a fun ensemble this time around.

As casting announcements continue to roll in, speculation and excitement has only grown surrounding Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to his critical and box office hit “Oppenheimer,” which won him the Academy Award for best director.
“The Odyssey” is a classic piece of literature by Homer that is divided between 24 different books, preceded by “The Iliad.” It tells the 10-year journey story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he travels home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters multiple perils and discovers the death of his crewmates. Telemachus (Odysseus’ son), Penelope (Odysseus’ wife), Athena, Circe, Poseidon and Zeus are all major characters.
Historians and scholars date “The Odyssey” to sometime between 750-650 BC. The first printed Greek version became available in 1488. In the centuries since, it has remained one of the most studied, adapted and parodied stories ever with adaptations including the 1911 silent film by Giuseppe de Liguoro, 1954’s...

Loosely inspired by Mark Wahlberg and his pals' (mis)adventures in the entertainment industry, HBO's "Entourage" follows the rise of Vincent Chase to Hollywood superstardom, as well as the people within his orbit who are along for the rollercoaster ride. It never gets old watching Vince, E, Turtle, Drama, and Ari Gold becoming the architects of their own success or demise -- because if we're being entirely honest here, they thrive in chaos and can't help but set fires to bridges while they're still standing on them. After nine seasons and one feature film, viewers got to know these characters intimately -- inside and out -- but what happened to the cast of "Entourage" afterward?
That's a good question. Many of them went on to star in other shows and films, while others picked up new interests and passions. Then there are those who have found themselves in a spot of trouble with the law.

Earlier this year, the Fates rapidly began to weave the threads that would bring us yet another project from the mind of Oscar-winning filmmaker and director, Christopher Nolan, with the retelling of Homer's tale of the mighty Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. Nolan's upcoming mythic action epic, The Odyssey, has since greatly expanded its cast with a plethora of stars, including John Wick's John Leguizamo joining the eagerly anticipated film. It is as large an undertaking as any Nolan has ever ventured into in his illustrious career. With huge expectations, some of Hollywood's brightest stars on the call sheet, and most definitely an enormous budget. Leguizamo reveals that Nolan still manages to make the entire production feel like an independent film.
“Dude, you know the thing is, okay, he’s got a crazy budget," Leguizamo said in a recent interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Fede Álvarez's blood-soaked Evil Dead remake will be available to stream for free starting April 1.
Just over 20 years after Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness landed in theaters, Álvarez helped usher in a new era for the iconic horror franchise with his 2013 reboot, Evil Dead. The film, which lands on Tubi next month, tossed aside the more comedic elements of the prior films in favor of a darker and meaner tone but doesn't forget to include tons of blood and gore, which remains a franchise staple. Álvarez's more sinister reboot proved a success as the film earned $97.5 million at the worldwide box office and was generally well-received at the time, having earned a 63% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Rafi Gavron and Shiloh Fernandez have joined the ensemble of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” sources close to the actors confirm.
The Universal film’s previously announced cast members include Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal and John Leguizamo.
Universal shared in December that the film “is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.”
Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem “The Odyssey” remains one of the oldest pieces of literature still read by modern audiences. It chronicles the story of Greek hero Odysseus during his tumultuous journey home following the Trojan War.

When Twilight Director Catherine Hardwicke Revealed Studio’s Doubts About Robert Pattinson’s Casting

Did the studio have doubts about Robert Pattison’s casting in Twilight? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Welcome to the early days of Robert Pattinson’s Twilight journey. Director Catherine Hardwicke took a trip down memory lane on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, revealing just how much of a long shot Pattinson seemed at first. Spoiler alert: Hardwicke totally knew what she was doing.
When Pattinson first strolled into her life, he wasn’t exactly rocking that “mysterious vampire” vibe. “When he came over to my house, he had black bangs for hair and was kind of out of shape because he was hanging out at the pub all the time,” Hardwicke shared. Yeah, not exactly the Edward Cullen we now know and love. But here’s where it gets juicy. Summit Entertainment—aka the studio behind Twilight—was less than convinced. They straight-up asked, “Do you think you can make this guy look good?...

We spoke with Nadine Crocker leading up to the release of Continue, an emotionally raw drama film that sees the talented writer-director in front of the camera as well, playing the harrowing and complex lead character. "I think the girl who started that journey and thought she could wear 33 hats was, like, very naive, but I'm really happy she was because it was a fun experience," Crocker recently told MovieWeb.
Crocker plays Dean, an emotionally troubled young woman who is already suffering a self-destructive mental health episode as Continue kicks off. The overall story spotlights mental health struggles and suicide prevention, and the finished product was released Sep. 6 at a pertinent time. "[The producers and I] unanimously were like, 'We need to let this film sit for a little bit until we get to September because that's World Suicide Prevention Month,'" Crocker said. "I knew that that was the time to put this film out.

Struggles with addiction and depression have come into the limelight since the Covid Pandemic. As they have, so too have the stories that often accompany these events. Director Nadine Crocker took her own struggles as inspiration for her film Continue. When shooting Continue, it was her debut feature. It now releases after her follow-up gig – Desperation Road – a Mel Gibson-starring action flick. Even with the long production schedule, she remains as committed as ever to her story.
When formulating Continue, Crocker wore a lot of hats. She served as the director, lead actress, producer, and writer for the film. She jokes “Sleep? What’s that?” when asked how she finds time for it all. “I think every person in the entertainment business knows – during production – you’re like a zombie person. You can’t wait to sleep and rest, but on the last day, you’re wondering how do I get that back?...

Bruce Campbell might not be fully out of the woods as Evil Dead's Ash Williams just yet. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Campbell revealed that an animated take on the iconic horror franchise is currently in the works, indicating a willingness to bring Ash back in non-physical form.
"We are developing an animated version, like a series," he teased. "I'll do that. I'll do Ash's voice all day long, because my voice hasn't aged as much as I have." Quick Links What Is The Old Way About? The Old Way Does a Great Job of Showcasing the New Ways Colton and Brooke Are Neurodivergent
Billed as Nicolas Cage's first traditional western, The Old Way, which is now available to stream on Hulu, got a bad rap when it premiered in 2023. Currently sitting at 32% on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics called it "bland," "uncompelling," "perfunctory," and "a half-baked mistake." But there's a lot to love about this Western, and the 70% of fans who gave it a thumbs-up on Rotten Tomatoes have the right idea.
Though this is a simple western with few surprises, The Old Way has its merits. For example, the relationship between Cage's Colton Briggs and his daughter Brooke is interesting and well-acted, especially on the part of the actress who plays Brooke, Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Plus, the examination of neurodivergence is unexpected in a movie that takes...

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has some thoughts on who would be cast as the main characters if the film were to be rebooted today.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to discuss the film 15 years after it originally came out, the filmmaker chimed in on who she’d want to play Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in a film today.
When asked if Jacob Elordi and Jenna Ortega would portray the two main characters, Hardwicke admitted, “Oh, that would be perfect,” she said, adding of Elordi, “I mean, he’s amazing. He probably would be Edward today.”
She explained that so many people come to mind when she thinks about who could be cast in the roles in the present day. Model Lewis Tan approached her recently and told her he went out for the role of Jacob Black, which eventually went to Taylor Lautner.

When filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke got the first draft of Twilight, she knew there was a problem. The script depicted Bella as a superstar athlete and ended with her in a chase with the FBI (on jet skis). “It had just gone out of control,” says Hardwicke. “I’m like, ‘No, no, no, that’s not what the book’s about. It’s about this incredible, impossible love and this yearning.”
Hardwicke wanted to ditch the script and get closer to the book by author Stephenie Meyer. Those instincts proved right. Fifteen years ago, on Nov. 21, 2008, Twilight became a surprise hit for low-key studio Summit Entertainment, grossing $408.4 million worldwide and instantly turning stars Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) into global stars. It would spawn four sequels, with a TV reboot on the way.

Robert Pattinson needed a makeover to transform into Edward Cullen, according to “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke.
While appearing on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast to mark the 15th anniversary of the beloved 2008 film, Hardwicke recalled how studio Summit Entertainment was skeptical Pattinson could “look good” as the heartthrob character.
“When he came over to my house, he had black bangs for hair and was kind of out of shape because he was hanging out at the pub all the time,” Hardwicke said of first auditioning Pattinson. “I sent it to Summit and he went over to meet them. They called me back and go, ‘Do you think you can make this guy look good?'”
Hardwicke continued, “I said, ‘Yeah, I do. Did you see his cheekbones? We’re doing a makeover on the hair and everything and he’s going to start working out and he’s going to be gorgeous.

Robert Pattinson is known as a heartthrob in Hollywood following his shot to stardom after starring in the Twilight saga. However, the film’s director Catherine Hardwicke is now revealing that the studio behind the franchise was not always Team Pattinson for the role of Edward and expressed concern over his looks during the casting process.
“When he came over to my house, he had black bangs for hair and was kind of out of shape because he was hanging out at the pub all the time,” Hardwicke said during an interview on the Watchalong podcast. “I thought ‘it works not just in person, but it works on screen.’ I had to be sure. Of course, in person, I just got carried away, but you have to be sure — does it really translate [to the screen]?”

Hardluck single mother blows into a small town just as an ex-con returns there, and many thinly drawn secondary characters kick off
Terminally unlucky, flat broke and unhoused, single parent Maben (Wila Fitzgerald) wafts like a tumbleweed into a small Mississippi town with her seven-year-old daughter Annalee (Pyper Braun). Why she is chosen to come to this particular podunk municipality isn’t clear at first, but by and by we learn that Maben has a connection to the place. However, her return is far from joyful considering once she’s checked herself and Annalee into a seedy motel and put the little one to bed, she makes a half-hearted attempt to turn a trick in the car park which goes horrifically wrong when a local sheriff (Shiloh Fernandez), arrests her, rapes her, and then calls his buddies to come over and have a turn. From there, things just get worse,...
