Lina Esco is the founder and film director of Free The Nipple. She founded the Free The Nipple movement in 2012 when the feature film by the same name she directed in 2012 was nearly impossible to release. Free the Nipple is about men and women coming together for gender equality. The nipple was the Trojan horse to help start the real dialogue about gender equality. She finally sold her film to IFC for theatrical distribution in Dec. 2014. The film was also acquired by Netflix and was released in June of 2015 on Netflix.

Lina Esco produced and directed several PSA's for the Academy Award-winning Best Documentary of 2009, The Cove, entitled, "My Friend is..." to bring awareness to the annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. She also directed another PSA "Kids Speak Out Against Captivity" for Ric O'Barry from The Cove to end the captivity of dolphins in Aquariums around the globe.
