Indie studio XYZ Films has promoted Maxime Cottray to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Cottray previously served as XYZ’s Executive Vice President. In the role, he worked closely with the studio founders to raise significant production and P&a financing for the company, including a facility with Bank of America. As COO, he will oversee financing, business affairs, and day-to-day operations and report to XYZ CEO Nick Spicer.
Since 2021, Cottray has closed the acquisition and financing of several titles such as Matthew Johnson’s Berlin competition title Blackberry and the Sundance breakout Run Rabbit Run, which was picked up by Netflix. He established a partnership with AI virtual dubbing company Flawless to acquire and release foreign language films to be “vubbed” into English. This year, he has facilitated the closing of XYZ’s first two scripted TV series, New Zealand-set Madam, starring Rachel Griffiths, and Conflict, which is shooting in Finland.

Raymond and the team took a break from hunting down Wujing on The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 3, and while that sort of made sense, it also felt odd.
This being the final season and all, we expected Wujing to be central to the storyline appearing in at least one scene per episode.
It didn't feel necessary to keep him offscreen because, contrary to other antagonists Raymond has faced in the past, Wujing isn't exactly hiding.
It would have been better to focus on them parallel to each other as they make their plans separately to take the other person down.
And that might be true in the coming episodes, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
We focused on Raymond's attempt to try and get Robert out of prison for the hour.
Raymond needed people who had mastered the art of deception and creating illusions to do that. And man did The...

We kicked off our beloved show's tenth and final season on a high note.
Former victims of Raymond's infamous blacklist started to band together to figure out how to take him down on The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 1.
Now down three members, the task force was looking to recruit two more members who saw the return of an unexpected relative of an Og member of the task force and a former associate of the Raymond.
The premise for the final season had been set towards the end of The Blacklist Season 9 after Marvin Gerard fed a list of people Raymond had helped put behind bars to Wujing.
We expected the season to deal with how Raymond would be looking to protect himself from this genuine threat, but when we met him, he wasn't as we had left him.
First, he had thrown all caution to the wind and appeared in public...

This The Blacklist review contains spoilers.
The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 1
It’s been a long, 8-month wait since the season 9 finale of The Blacklist aired on May 28, 2022, and fans have been counting down the days until the season 10 debut. NBC announced recently that this will be the ultimate season of the show, both in being its final season and in the threats Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) faces as an old foe, Wujing (Chin Han), begins a quest to join forces with all the criminals Red has wronged.
In episode 1 “The Night Owl” Red classifies Wujing as the “final weapon in the hand of Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens),” confidante, lawyer, and Bff-since-the-beginning of the Concierge of Crime. Marvin’s final act against Red in season 9 was a gift to Wujing—a list of criminals that Red and the Task Force worked together to put behind bars. This list is a...

The Blacklist: [Spoiler] Makes a Surprise Return in Final Season Premiere — Plus, Grade the Episode!
We suppose The Blacklist has a number of surprises in store as it embarks on its 10th and final season — and Sunday’s premiere brought a particularly pleasant one.
Amir Arison — who left The Blacklist during last season’s finale, along with Laura Sohn as Alina Park — made a brief (but still-delightful) return as Aram Mojtabai in the episode’s opening scene. As Aram left the Metropolitan Museum of Art and returned to his bike, looking more relaxed than he has in years, he was surprised to spot Red across the street, looking worse than he has in years: bearded,...

It's surreal that this is the beginning of the end.
After nine seasons and over two hundred blacklist cases, we are preparing for one final season to bring the whole thrilling saga to a close.
The Blacklist Season 9 saw Raymond go scorched earth to try and unearth Elizabeth's killer, not knowing her murderer had been right next to him all along.
Marvin Gerard proved a formidable foe when he killed Elizabeth and set his sights on killing Raymond and taking over his empire.
It culminated in a showdown that saw Raymond emerge on top but only with some casualties.
The final season is bound to look and feel slightly different, and some changes were teased in the Season 9 finale.
Spoilers for The Blacklist Season 10 Episode 1 tease a smaller team, a new cast addition, and the team going on the defensive while playing offense to some extent.
The team minus three members.

Tristan died Sunday at her home near Le Porte, Indiana, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, her husband of 48 years, director John D. Hancock (Bang the Drum Slowly), announced.
After an onscreen hiatus of nearly three decades, Tristan returned in The Looking Glass as a woman caring for her troubled 13-year-old granddaughter (Grace Tarnow) as symptoms of her dementia appear. Her husband directed the film, set in the couple’s real-life, longtime home in La Porte.
Tristan struggled with remembering the words she’d written but improvised and used cue cards to recall the dialogue.

This article contains spoilers for The Blacklist through season 9.
For nine seasons, The Blacklist has offered fans a panoramic view of the intersections between science and fiction. Paying attention to these blurred lines is not an attempt to poke holes in the episodes or to reclassify the show’s genre: The Blacklist is a fictional crime drama without question…and that means there is room to play with reality.
For nearly a decade, the show has kept viewers shrouded in a veil of confused mystery on multiple fronts: what was the nature of Red’s relationship with Elizabeth, who is Red really and where in the world is Katarina Rostova? It seems a blurry lens is the eyewear-of-choice for the writers to impart on the audience. Yet, it is in these murky sci-fi plotlines where we can begin to get cozy with the location of truth and unanswered questions on The Blacklist…...
