Which Bubble Show Would You Save From Cancellation?
Image
We’re all anxious this time of year as we await news about our favorite bubble shows.

ABC has renewed most of its primetime slate, while NBC has only renewed two comedies. CBS crushed viewers on Friday when it canceled The Equalizer, which has us concerned about the state of television.

Fox and The CW are somewhere in between, making decisions on a few shows, while others are in limbo.

(Rafy/NBC)

Let’s analyze what we’re working with, and please vote and comment on which bubble shows you’d like to see again.

Brilliant Minds (NBC)

NBC shows have the most to lose since the network is losing valuable scripted television time to NBA basketball on Tuesday nights, and adding Sunday nights to that schedule during mid-season.

The network didn’t consider any new drama pilots for the fall since its slate is already crowded.

You know the drill, my lovelies.

If you want my thoughts about the hour, you can find them in my Found Season 2 Episode 20 Review, and trust me, I have a lot to say.

But if you’re ready for the play-by-play, let’s go!

(Matt Miller/NBC)

Jamie goes through and reads all of Margaret’s journals and has a strong reaction to seeing just how much Margaret cared about him. He’s at the bus station waiting to see Carrie, hoping they’ll trap her.

Margaret, Trent, and Gabi are all there waiting to see if Carrie shows up, while Gabi gets a phone call and takes off. One of her former clients has been poisoned with rat poison. She says that a woman named Lena did it.

Found Season 2 Episode 20 Stretches M&a Thin and Potentially Leaves Gabi in Danger
Image
Lena is diabolical.

She didn’t even need to be in Found Season 2 Episode 20, and she’s made us feel her presence.

The question is, did she really take Gabi, or is this some ruse to rile up Sir so he can actually do something about his unhinged sister?

(Matt Miller/NBC) Found Spins Wheels Ahead of the Finish Line

We’re winding down in the season, and Found Season 2 has been relatively strong.

Every week, they take us on a wild ride and leave us clamoring for more. We desperately want to reach conclusions about some of the biggest arcs and get to know our favorite characters a bit more.

At the end of a season, sometimes a series can spin on its wheels, and we feel that during this installment.

Found’s Karan Oberoi Teases Dhan’s Background, Exciting Final Stretch & Authentic Gabi Bond
Image
If you’ve been following our coverage, you’d know how special Found is to us.

It’s a show that continues to do remarkable work with its strong messaging regarding hope, working through trauma, and bringing people home.

The series has strong writing that keeps us glued to the screens every week. It also has one of the best casts currently on television, with fantastic chemistry and incredibly rich characters.

(Matt Miller/NBC)

One character who epitomizes that is the enigmatic, fiercely loyal, and wonderfully complex Dhan Rana. He’s easily one of the most compelling characters on broadcast and certainly one of Found’s most dynamic.

So naturally, it was a genuine pleasure to catch up with his talented portrayer, the gracious and humble Karan Oberoi, about the importance of this series, the action-packed remaining episodes, bringing his natural chemistry with Shanola Hampton to life onscreen, and Dhan’s background.

Netflix's 'Sakamoto Days' Sets Exciting Release Date for Season 1 Part 2
Image
The first half of the Netflix anime series Sakamoto Days ended last weekend. It introduced us to the legendary hitman Taro Sakamoto and the unexpected plight he found himself in following his retirement. The first half of the season sets the scene for what's to come, and the wait to see what's next won't be long, as it was revealed that its continuation will occur late in the year. According to the show's official Japanese account on Twitter/X, it was announced that Sakamoto Days will return in the middle of the year and air on Tokyo TV and other networks like Netflix. Along with the announcement is a new promo image reminiscent of Avengers: Endgame. The first 11 episodes are now available to stream on Netflix, and an English dub is available for those interested.

Sakamoto Days is an anime series based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki on the same day.

10 Replacement Anime Voice Actors Who Were Better Than the Original
Image
Several different elements must come together to craft a fantastic anime. A wonderful story is a necessity, as are likable characters. Stellar animation is always a bonus, although anime like Mob Psycho 100 proved style isn't everything. Of course, great voice actors always have a role to play as well.

However, not all voice actors stick around for the series' entire lifetime. While the reason for not remaining for an entire series may vary, from retirement to being let go for controversial reasons, a new voice actor has to come in to replace the original. This transition can sometimes be quite jarring for fans. Yet, there are times when the new voice actor that takes over the role does so with flying colors.

NBC shows on the bubble so far in 2025 (Which NBC shows could be canceled?)
Image
There are some great NBC shows still on the bubble. That’s nothing too major to worry about just yet, as we’re only into March. NBC has a habit of waiting until closer to the May Upfronts to make some final decisions.

However, with so many shows on the bubble, we can look at the ones likely to be renewed and canceled. While NBC doesn’t only just rely on the linear ratings, this is usually a strong indication as to whether a show will get another chance.

Something I do want to point out is that Friday and Sunday linear ratings tend to be lower than other nights, and that is something that needs to be considered when look at the ratings to determine which NBC shows could be canceled.

NBC shows likely canceled: Grosse Pointe Garden Society, Lopez vs. Lopez, and more

I hate to put this new series on the list,...

10 Anime Villains Who Are Deeply Obsessed With Their Main Character
Image
Anime villains are almost always over the top. But the ones who are obsessed with their protagonists take things to the extreme. These fanatical villains can’t help but let the main characters consume their every thought.

Some anime villains are obsessed because of the anger they feel toward the protagonists. Others simply want to take their powers and will do anything to get them. Anime villains who are obsessed with their protagonists aren’t concerned with optics. They merely want to see the main characters go down as painfully as possible because their hatred (or love) is that strong.

10 Best Anime About Assassins, Ranked

Over the years, anime has seen tremendous growth and success, because of a handful of genres that have helped the artistic medium grow in popularity around the world. These genres feature an incredible variety of series, but arguably none are more consistently thrilling than the assassin genre.

Assassin anime has been a major part of the medium's success since the 1970s, and during this time, the genre has spawned many titles that earned impressive followings among their fans. That said, there are a select few assassin anime that are particularly well-received, including a few that rank among the most popular series in anime history.

Everything We Know About Characters With Super Abilities in Sakamoto Days
Image
This article contains spoilers for the Sakamoto Days anime and manga.

Superhuman abilities are strangely common in Sakamoto Days, although this popular shonen comedy anime doesn't really touch on magic, nor does it place a direct focus on supernatural powers. Regardless, with the number of characters that possess ridiculously remarkable (and humanly impossible) quirks, it might as well be another anime about superheroes.

Most of the superpowers seen in Sakamoto Days thus far result from a character’s innate talent and hard work, as most of them are prodigies with insane gifts or have been trained at Japan Clear Creation (Jcc) to hone their skills until they become assassins capable of going toe-to-toe with My Hero Academia’s All Might.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Review (PS5) – A Pirate’s Life for Me
Image
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio seemingly has their production line of games down to a fine art at this stage, never leaving it too long from the last release until the next, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the latest proof of that. Featuring a brand new, albeit all-too-familiar protagonist in Goro Majima, the new spin-off has given one of the most sought-after characters the limelight, but is it a smart choice, and most importantly, is the game actually good?

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is Absolutely Bonkers

‘Absolutely bonkers’ is a moniker that many would be willing to slap on the Like a Dragon/Yakuza franchise from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. The 40 Best Action Anime of All Time, Ranked
Image
The anime industry spans a variety of genres, but arguably the action genre is the most popular and prominent of them all. By now, action anime has developed a strong appeal among all demographics, not just young boys, making anime like Bleach and My Hero Academia highly mainstream and popular. No matter the demographic, there is a variety of action anime that anyone can connect to.

The best action anime don't just feature well-animated fight scenes and cool combat systems, though. Good action anime series also entertain viewers with deep humanistic themes, strong character arcs, a unique setting/premise, and hard-hitting plot twists that keep anime fans guessing as the action unfolds. Whether the action anime is commenting on its genre, such as in One Punch Man, or helps define it, as in the case of Dragon Ball, there is something for everyone.

Waller: Frank Grillo Reportedly Set To Return As Rick Flag Sr. For Peacemaker Spin-Off Series
Image
It sounds like we're going to be seeing a lot of Rick Flag Sr. in the Dcu over the next few years.

Frank Grillo voiced the character in the recent Creature Commandos animated series, and will make his live-action debut in James Gunn's Superman before returning for the second season of Peacemaker. Now, Mttsh is reporting that Flag will also be a part of the upcoming Waller series.

This wouldn't really be much of a surprise given Flag's close association with Waller, but it does obviously suggest that he will survive the events of Peacemaker season 2 and his run-in with John Cena's Christopher Smith.

Though the project was impacted by the Hollywood strikes, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently confirmed that Waller is still moving forward, with Viola Davis set to reprise her role as the Dcu's ruthless A.R.G.U.S. chief.

Waller Dcu Series Will Reportedly Feature Checkmate And King Faraday
Image
Though the project was impacted by the Hollywood strikes, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn recently confirmed that Waller is still moving forward, with Viola Davis set to reprise her role as the Dcu's ruthless A.R.G.U.S. chief.

Davis debuted as "The Wall" in David Ayer's Suicide Squad before making appearances in Gunn's "requel" The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker show. She also provided the voice of the character in the recent Creature Commandos animated series, and will return in the second season of Peacemaker.

"A live action series, the spinoff of Peacemaker, centered around Amanda Waller and her relationship with her daughter, Leota. If there's one government bureaucrat who shouldn't be messed with, it’s Amanda Waller, founder of the infamous Task Force X, better known as the Suicide Squad," reads Waller's logline.

Official updates have been sparse since Gunn assured fans that the show was still on track late last year,...

Found Season 2 Episode 13’s Death, Death Threat, And New Mystery Complicates Plot

Is it weird to find Christian’s death one of Found‘s most upsetting twists?

Christian was a wild card character, but he seemed well-intentioned, and learning of his death by suicide during Found Season 2 Episode 13 caught me off guard.

Of course, it wasn’t even the biggest revelation of the hour.

( Matt Miller/NBC) Penance is the Name of the Game During Found Season 2 Episode 13

The hour frequently references penance, and it follows Found Season 2 Episode 12, in which Gabi feels Sir has robbed her of the chance to exercise it.

However, forever the M&a faithful, Dhan doesn’t just say, “Turn your pain into purpose,” he embodies it. It’s not a mantra for him so much as a lifestyle and code he lives by, so fittingly, he’s the one to remind Gabi that M&a is their penance.

Sakamoto Days' Biggest Problem Is Also the Reason Why Its So Good
Image
This article discusses Episodes 1-6 of the Sakamoto Days anime and will contain spoilers.

Sakamoto Days is Winter 2025’s hit comedy anime of the season, featuring a main character who joins the long list of super-powered shōnen protagonists: Taro Sakamoto. He is a man who absolutely cannot be felled because of his ridiculous strength and hunter-like instincts—skills that earned him the title of “the legendary hitman.” Unfortunately, the novelty of Sakamoto’s overpowered nature might wear away over time, as it's already a prevalent element in every episode.

There is peak comedy and entertainment found in the excitement of Sakamoto’s fight scenes, but—as seen with most power-leveling anime — the gimmick of infallible and overpowered characters can grow old quickly. Regardless, Sakamoto's status of always being the strongest person in the room is a running gag that can sprint for smiles, because it is exactly why anime fans love Sakamoto Days so much.

'I Literally Unhinged My Jaw': Attack on Titan Star Opens Up on Eren's 'Terrifying' Endgame Descent

The leading voice actors of Attack on Titan have shared their jaw-dropping stories about working on the critically acclaimed anime drama before saying goodbye to the series for good with the release of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack. The final Attack on Titan anime movie will be released in the United States on Feb. 10, 2025.

Cbr recently interviewed Bryce Papenbrook and Trina Nishimura for the release of Attack on Titan: The Last Attack. The English voice actors respectively play the series’ main characters, Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman. It’s a post-apocalyptic story about humanity’s dire attempt to protect itself from giant humanized creatures known as "Titans" and the horrible moral choices that follow. The growth -- or arguable decline -- of Eren in the story portrays this best, as his actions become more heartless as the show goes on.

The Best Anime Fights of All Time, Ranked
Image
One of the best parts about watching a good action series is seeing a great fight. A struggle of wills between the protagonist and the antagonist can get viewers pumped, especially if the story leading up to the conflict is told properly. These fights can even be cathartic, allowing the hero to finally triumph over the villain.

Naturally, because there are so many great anime series, many come with incredible fight scenes. Some of them stand above the others in terms of being iconic, remembered years after the anime has finished by everyone who watched. Whether it's for pure style points or an epic end to an arc, there are bound to be countless anime fights that viewers will always remember.

15 Anime Characters Just Like Dandadan’s Okarun

Dandadan mesmerized an evergrowing fan base with its singular, irreverent charm. For many fans, the series' balance of horror, comedy, and fantasy was a refreshing update to more traditional shōnen tropes and introduced an eclectic ensemble cast many fans found enrapturing. Netflix's 'Sakamoto Days' Breaks Through Streamer's Top 10
Image
Netflix is fully committed to its new anime initiative, and its latest hit, the John Wick-esque Sakamoto Days, has viewers obsessed. Sakamoto Days, based on the manga of the same name by Yuto Suzuki, is the streamer's latest original anime series. The first episode premiered on January 11, with new episodes releasing weekly at 9 a.m. Et on Saturdays (two episodes are available at the time of writing). If You Love John Wick, You Owe It to Yourself to Watch These 8 Anime
Image
Few action movies have had a bigger presence in pop culture over the past decade than the John Wick franchise. The stylish gun-based action, combined with Keanu Reeves’ stellar work as the eponymous lead, has made it a household name in record time, and few people haven’t at least heard of the films and the cinematic action that’s made them so famous.

John Wick’s success cannot be understated, and its appeal is hardly limited to fans of live-action films. Anime, for example, is a medium that often lends itself to intense, kinetic action, much of which involves some manner of gunplay, and because of that, there are many anime with the kind of great animation, story beats, and gun-based action that capture everything that’s made John Wick so appealing as a franchise. A few anime like that especially stand out, and any fan of John Wick...

Image
You didn’t think Found would take its foot off the gas in the new year, did you?

Foolish of you if you believed Found Season 2 Episode 9 would ease us back into the myriad of drama and thrills in the world of Gabi Mosely and associates.

The hour dropped so many things at once that it practically left our heads spinning, with M&a’s most faithful soldier fighting for his life, Trent’s fate a shocking unknown, and more questions than answers about Sir.

(Matt Miller/NBC)

Where do we even begin with this action-packed hour?

Picking up where Found Season 2 Episode 8 left off, Gabi squared off with Sir in a tense confrontation that ended with some mysterious person clocking Gabi over the head.

Sir didn’t anticipate Gabi’s presence at the school and was holding out for Heavy Boots. But their reunion wasn’t the most shocking part about that interaction.

Peacemaker Star John Cena Teases Season 2's Revamped Opening Credits Sequence
Image
When Peacemaker premiered back in 2022, the show's hilariously bizarre opening sequence soon became one of the biggest talking points, and fans can look forward to a brand-new dance number featuring the main cast when the HBO/Max series returns for its second season.

Writer director James Gunn has previously revealed that the credits sequence will be revamped for season 2, but we still don't know what to expect. We have heard that Wig Wam's "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" will be replaced by another song, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Star John Cena wasn't willing to divulge any details during an interview with Collider, but he does sound confident that fans will appreciate the new intro.

"I will say, filming the dance number in Season 1, even though it was written in the script the whole way through, so I knew months out we were going to film it,...

How Broadcast Networks are Using Procedurals as the Gateway to Innovative Storytelling
Image
We all know the concept of adapting or dying.

Television as a medium has been forced to do that for decades, and with the introduction of streaming and its subsequent upswing since then, it’s been a difficult path for network television.

The irony isn’t lost when you consider that most of a streamer’s content isn’t original programming but acquisitions of previous or already established network shows.

Network television is the basis for television, no matter how elitist some like to behave about its existence and what it offers.

(Mitch Hasseth/Disney) Audiences Critiquing Procedurals Actually Crave Everything Procedurals Provide

It’s safe to say that network television is the battleground for content, and even setting precedence for our favorite streaming series isn’t on the streamers themselves but on broadcast television.

There has been discourse about the state of television as a medium recently. So much...

10 Fantasy TV Shows With The Perfect Villain
Image
This article contains references to gratuitous violence and sexual assault.

Fantasy TV has been having a great decade, with a shocking number of amazing shows coming out in the 2020s, and some of them serving up the perfect villain. Villainy suits the fantasy genre particularly well. From the best historical fantasy TV to the dark fantasy and the satirical, this genre understands that there is something innately cartoonish about an evil demon lord taking over the world, which is often the underlying premise of a fantasy villain. World domination seems to be at the top of many villains' agendas, whether they are a Demon lord or not.

The best fantasy villain of all time, in any format, is probably the eponymous Sauron of The Lord of the Rings, but his influence has echoed down through books and movies since 1954. Some of the most powerful fantasy characters are otherworldly villains with supernatural powers,...

The 40 Best Anime for Tweens and Teens
Image
One of the best things about anime is that it can appeal to fans of all ages. While most series cater to adults, plenty of titles are available for the youngest viewers. However, finding age-appropriate series for young teens and tweens can sometimes be a challenge. It's an awkward age demographic, where young viewers are looking to get into more mature themes but still aren't quite old enough for many of the intense anime series available.

Fortunately, anime is a versatile medium with a vast assortment of titles that fit this bill. Ranging from various genres and categories, many anime series manage to be serious and mature while still keeping things PG for younger audiences. It's important to preview such anime before giving kids the okay to view, as a series' popularity among that age group may not guarantee it's actually appropriate.

10 Shonen Anime Villains Who Are Way Too Dark For a Kids Series
Image
Anime is one of the most popular artistic mediums in the world, due in large part to the widespread success of the shonen genre. Its universal appeal has helped many of the most popular shonen shows transcend the genre’s original demographic, and although action is usually a defining aspect of these titles, they rarely get too dark or mature for younger viewers to enjoy.

However, while most shonen heroes are paragons of virtue and honor, the genre has also produced several villains that are much, much darker than those seen in other shows geared toward children. From Dragon Ball Z to Demon Slayer, even the most beloved series have pushed the boundaries with the sheer cruelty of their villains.

10 Shortest Anime Arcs of All Time, Ranked

Some of the most popular anime of all time are frequently the longest-running series, with dozens, or even hundreds of episodes. Even when broken down into arcs, these shows can still feel like they take forever to finish--some arcs can be dozens of episodes. However, there are exceptions to the rule.

There are some anime arcs that don't take very long at all, often running for five episodes or fewer. These are often introductory arcs, or arcs that are meant to be a break from serious moments. These can often serve as low-investment ways to get anime fans into even the longest anime series.
