“It’s Christmas Eve, and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms (Riley Dandy) just wants to get drunk and party until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated.
“Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal, and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood-splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself.”
Sam Delich, Jonah Ray Rodrigues, Dora Madison, and Jeremy Gardner also star in Christmas Bloody Christmas along with Jeff Daniel Phillips and Abraham Benrubi.

The sky was the limit when it came to voice casting “The Last Kids on Earth.”
Based on Max Brallier’s graphic novel, the animated Netflix series follows Jack (Nick Wolfhard) and his teenage friends, who spent much of the first season playing video games and zombie-fighting in a post-apocalyptic world that wiped out most of humanity.
Although the first season (and the source material) was primarily focused on Jack’s point of view, Season 2 was a time to open up the world, per the executive producers.
The approach was, “If we could have anyone in the world, who would we have?” Brallier says. They wanted “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill but thought, “Why would he ever want to do this?”
In order to entice Hamill to voice Bardle, a wise monster who is the leader of the monsters who have taken over the pizza parlor, Joe’s Pizza, they created...

Arriving in theaters this weekend is the pulse-pounding and bone-crunching action/horror hybrid Vfw, from director Joe Begos. The film pits a grizzled group of veterans against a ragtag horde of punks who have descended upon the veterans’ local watering hole, resulting in a fight to the bitter end. Written by Max Brallier and Matthew McArdle, Vfw stars Stephen Lang, Martin Kove, William Sadler, Fred Williamson, George Wendt, Tom Williamson, Sierra McCormick, Travis Hammer, and Dora Madison.
Last year, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with both Joe Begos and Stephen Lang while at Fantastic Fest (you can read part one of our interview Here), and the duo chatted about tackling the ambitious action sequences throughout Vfw and the various challenges Begos faced while crafting his most ambitious feature to date.

That co-writer Matthew McArdle remains shocked even after seeing the film he and Max Brallier wrote on the big screen shows how tough the accomplishment proves. Best friends since childhood, the two began their script for Vfw with transparent intentions as far as harkening back to the no-holds-barred VHS gems they’d scour video store shelves to find. Using John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13 as inspiration, they created a group of aging vets decades-removed from service yet still thick as thieves with a drug-fueled, zombie-esque horde threatening to attack their Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in waves. It took seven years, but Dallas Sonnier finally called to say he’d finance it before director Joe Begos, a stellar cast of character actors, and the rejuvenated Fangoria label came aboard.

For years, he's brought the dead to life in books like Patient Zero and Rot & Ruin, so it's rather fitting that prolific author Jonathan Maberry has now teamed up with the legendary George A. Romero to co-edit an anthology set within the early stages of the zombie uprising in Night of the Living Dead. Titled Nights of the Living Dead, the new anthology is now available from St. Martin's Press (check out our giveaway here), and to celebrate, we caught up with Maberry for our latest Q&A feature to discuss his work on the living dead dream project, and we also have a claustrophobic excerpt from his short story "Lone Gunman."
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Jonathan. How did the opportunity come about to collaborate on a Night of the Living Dead anthology with the legend himself, George A. Romero?

Nearly 50 years ago, George A. Romero changed the horror genre as we know it with his big screen story about a fateful evening when the dead rose to feast on the flesh of the living. Now, almost half a century later, St. Martin's Press revisits that night with a new anthology of short stories set in the world of Night of the Living Dead. Co-edited by Jonathan Maberry and George A. Romero himself (who also wrote one of the stories in the book), the anthology will be unleashed on July 11th, and we've been provided with one paperback copy to give away to one lucky Daily Dead reader.

Joe R. Lansdale, Brian Keene, John Skipp, David J. Schow, Issac Marion—if reading those names in the same sentence gets your blood pumping a little quicker, then you're in for a real treat, because all of those acclaimed authors, along with many more, are coming together for a new short story anthology set on the evening of the zombie outbreak in the world of George A. While I keep waiting for the wheels to fall off of the Charlie Sheen Crazy Train, the former Two and A Half Men star is encroaching on terrain reserved for Jane Austen and others who've had their works satirically updated with supernatural creatures in books like Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. Book editor Brendan Deneen has teamed with Can You Survive The Zombie Apocalypse? author Max Brallier to write Vatican Assassin Warlock. They are calling it a "dark satirical fantasy novella," with a lead character named Charlie who has been built right out of Sheen's own rantings. The setup: an actor in Los Angeles is secretly an assassin for the Vatican, battling supernatural forces. The novella will be published as a 99 cent title this month through Deneen's Ardden Entertainment, which until now has only published comics. "Max and I were sitting around and thought, what if all these things Charlie Sheen is saying are true,...
