Learned to speak English at the age of 6 by watching legendary voice actor Frank Welker as "Fred" in the original "Scooby Doo" animated series. 30 years later, Lanz would end up working alongside Welker on "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated" after joining the cast in the show's second season.

Born in Mexico City to a Mexican father and a Chilean mother, Christian's family name traces back to the rural village of Lanz in Navarra, Spain. His ancestors settled in Campeche, Mexico in the 1600's.

Was nominated for the prestigious "Premio Pani" Architectural Award in 2001 for his work in green/sustainable architectural design.

Received the 2018 Golden Trailer Award nomination for Best Voiceover for his work on the multicultural trailer campaign for Disney/Pixar's "Coco".

He's the only actor to win the Voice Arts Award for Outstanding TV Animation: Best Voiceover two years in a row. He won in 2016 for DreamWorksTV's "Epic Battles with Puss in Boots", and in 2017 for Disney's "Elena of Avalor" animated series.

Grandson of celebrated Mexican writer/novelist Irene Gutierrez de Lanz, a close advisor to Mexican film legend Mario Moreno "Cantinflas", and who also served on the board of the Mario Moreno Foundation for many years.
