There won’t be much by way of Marvel this year with Deadpool & Wolverine being their only significant release. Additionally, the company is seeking to rebound from a year of poorly received works like The Marvels and Secret Invasion, plus their shocking overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again, as well as their rising star Jonathan Majors getting released from his role as Kang amid his legal controversy. While Kevin Feige was able to showcase some “f*cking amazing” footage of Deadpool & Wolverine at CinemaCon this year, Marvel’s only other big bit of news in recent months came in the shape of The Fantastic Four.
This past phase for Marvel Studios attempted to set up the new roster of heroes, which would be standing in the way of Kang for the new Avengers movies. The new generation included Shang-Chi from the 2021 movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

While Marvel fans await the sole theatrical release of the year i.e. Deadpool & Wolverine, one particular film sequel has been on the minds of fans since the original’s success three years ago. Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a huge hit upon release and earned over $432 million amidst the global pandemic.
While a sequel was announced a while ago, there have been no updates regarding the film. Director Destin Daniel Cretton was previously attached to Avengers: Kang Dynasty before stepping down to concentrate on Shang-Chi 2. Despite there being no updates, actor Simu Liu recently mentioned that the sequel was definitely in the works.

Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto is one of the most popular manga and anime franchises in history. One of the “Big Three” (alongside Bleach and One Piece), Naruto has been one of the most important titles in the history of manga and anime, which explains why it is so popular even after all these years. And while fans can currently enjoy the Boruto sequel series, the American production company Lionsgate has confirmed that it is working on a live-action version of Naruto, similar to what Netflix did with Oda’s One Piece.
The information about the upcoming project is very scarce, and the only thing about the movie that we know so far is that Destin Daniel Cretton, who co-wrote and directed the Marvel Studios movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has been approached to write and direct the movie. Over the last decade or so, Marvel has had a knack for snagging independent filmmakers with a lot of buzz, critical acclaim, and innovative creative voices to join their stable. Before James Gunn was at the helm of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, he was the guy who got his start writing "Tromeo and Juliet" for Lloyd Kaufman. And he's not alone. Scott Derrickson, Jon Watts, Taika Waititi, Cate Shoreland, Destin Daniel Cretton, Chloé Zhao, Nia DaCosta, and so many others were still stars on the rise when Marvel came calling.
Fan reactions are typically divided with one camp worried this marks the end of their independent visions in favor of corporate-driven storytelling, while others are thrilled to see directors they love getting one hell of a paycheck. Theoretically, this should give them the creative freedom to make whatever film they want next, like the director's version of what...

One of the upcoming projects in the MCU that fans were often talking about was ‘Wonder Man.‘ It’s a Hollywood satire about Williams, who becomes a superhero after being an actor in Tinseltown.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Simon Williams (Wonder Man), with Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris also starring. Recently, there were strong rumors about ‘Wonder Man’ being canceled, especially since it spent a long time in development with little news.
‘Wonder Man’ filming began in January 2024, but it faced delays due to strikes. This isn’t unexpected, as many other projects were also affected by delays or are undergoing reworks since the strikes ended. Unfortunately, just a few days into filming, a tragic accident resulted in the loss of a set worker’s life. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Wonder Man’ is in post-production. ‘Wonder Man’ filming started in January 2024, the production was reportedly delayed due to the strikes, which isn’t as surprising considering that plenty of other anticipated projects were severely delayed or are in the middle of reworks now that the strikes have ended. Destin Daniel Cretton, the filmmaker who co-wrote and directed the Marvel Studios movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and who executive produced American Born Chinese for Disney+, has launched Hisako, a new multimedia production company.
Cretton will run the banner with Jeyun Munford, formerly an executive at Universal and Lionsgate, who will act as the company’s president, running both film and television arms.
With a focus on empowering filmmakers and creatives, one of Hisako’s mission statements is a commitment to transforming the film and television landscape by highlighting marginalized stories and pushing them into the mainstream. The company is founded on the underlying conviction that storytelling has the power to unite audiences worldwide through shared emotions and experiences.
One of the first projects out of the gate for Hisako will be the big-screen live-action take on Naruto, one of the most popular mangas of all time.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to welcome the Fantastic Four. The group, led by The Last of Us fame Pedro Pascal, will pit an older group of superheroes against Silver Surfer and Galactus, two well-known villains. After keeping us guessing for months, Marvel has finally revealed that Julia Garner—best known for starring in the Netflix series Ozark—is being cast as Silver Surfer.

It should be noted, however, that this version will be Shalla-Bal, Silver Surfer’s romantic interest in Marvel Comics. But it seems not everyone is happy with the latest Marvel update on the upcoming flick.
Lakeith Stanfield, best known for his dynamic acting range in films such as Sorry to Bother You and Judas and the Black Messiah, expressed disappointment when Garner was announced as the new Silver Surfer.

When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. This has caused some fans to speculate that Marvel and Disney+ might have decided to scrap Ironheart, along with the series Wonder Man, which had Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role of the title character, who is also known as Simon Williams and hasn’t been seen in the MCU yet. The night of the 2024 Academy Awards was by far one of the most anticipated ones in the last couple of years in the award show’s history, and to present the award for Best Picture, the Mvp of the night, Al Pacino walked on stage to announce the winner. And despite Oppenheimer taking home the accolade, people were upset with the presenter himself.

Well, it's official — Netflix's live-action remake of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" paid off (for the company at least). Avatar Aang (Gordon Cormier) will get to continue mastering the elements, now that "Avatar" has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.
"Avatar" is just the latest anime that Netflix has brought to live-action. On this spectrum, "Avatar" falls below the well-received "One Piece" remake but ahead of the swiftly-canned live-action "Cowboy Bebop" (that even original series creator Shinichirō Watanabe couldn't finish).
Netflix hasn't stopped there. The streamer is letting "Stranger Things" creators the Duffer Brothers take a crack at "Death Note" and has had a live-action "Gundam" movie in development since 2021. Other studios are getting into anime properties as well: Lionsgate has recruited "Shang-Chi" director Destin Daniel Cretton to adapt "Naruto" into a live-action movie.

Marvel Studios has been facing many difficulties with its next “Avengers” installment following the departure of director Destin Daniel Cretton, who left to focus on other Marvel projects (“Wonder Man” and the “Shang Chi” sequel). Screenwriter Jeff Loveness exited as well, but none of that really compares to the firing of Jonathan Majors, who was set to play the film’s villain, Kang The Conqueror, and let go after he was convicted in connection to a violent altercation with his ex-girlfriend (now awaiting sentencing that will be handed down in April).

The story penned by Eiichiro Oda is one of the most incredible anime stories ever, and it won’t be overtaken anytime soon. In the journey of uncovering the One Piece, Oda sensei has introduced us to numerous characters, each of whom has managed to bond with the audience.
Roronoa Zoro’s Coldest Moment
One of the most beloved characters is Zoro, whom fans acknowledge for his loyalty to Luffy and his fighting style, which involves using three swords. However, despite Oda sensei being hailed as a mastermind, he sometimes does things on a whim. One example of this could be Zoro’s swords, as it has been revealed that Zoro only uses three swords because of Oda sensei’s urge to make him look greater than Miyamoto Musashi, the greatest swordsman in Japanese history.

Billie Eilish may have joined the entertainment industry as a singer, but that isn’t the only thing that has made her as famous as she is. Besides her beyond-brilliant vocal skills, the 22-year-old legendary singer cum songwriter’s “unapologetically me” attitude made her an overnight internet sensation, especially among her Gen Z fans.

For much of the last year, the question has hung in the air around what Marvel is going to do with Kang. First, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania underperformed significantly, intended to be the Multiverse Saga uber-villain’s big launch on the world. Then, months after allegations were made against him, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assault in December, at which point he was dropped by the studio. In the wake of all that, Marvel Studios is said to be retooling its plans for the future – plans which originally had the next Avengers movie down as The Kang Dynasty.
According to a new THR report, Marvel is said to be dropping the name The Kang Dynasty for Avengers 5, a move which is said to be a reflection of both Majors’ removal from the role, and the underwhelming reaction to Quantumania. The film previously had Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton as director,...
