Coming just hours after the show’s Season 2 finale shook fans, the “Severance” PaleyFest panel rocked the Dolby Theatre by unleashing a live marching band number — recreating a memorable moment from the episode.

Tramell Tillman, who plays Mr. Milchick, led a marching band through the Dolby Theatre. Prior to the sudden performance, Tillman had been the only one out of the cast and creative team to not show up on stage when his name was called. Just as the panel was getting started — and after Stiller explained that the actor “goes off the grid” at times — Tillman made his entrance with the band.

The Season 2 finale, which was released the day prior to the panel, involves Mr. Milchick acting as a drum major during an elaborate marching band sequence.

Speaking to ScreenRant, Rothwell was asked if she was looking forward to reprising her role as Rachel in the next Sonic the Hedgehog film, as well as what impression her experience on the past three entries in the series had left on her. "I hope so. I mean, Jeff Fowler, he's just so lovely. And Toby Asher and the gang, Tika, James, like I've been in all of them and so absolutely I'll come back," Rothwell responded. "What's so crazy about the third one, I flew to London to shoot my scenes for the third one and then went to Thailand. So I literally stopped and shot it and then kept going. So it's cool to look back because I'm just like, I barely remember being there because it was such a whirlwind of a trip.

This year’s Oscar Best Picture race doesn’t include any straight-up comedies, although Anora could be considered a dramedy and The Substance has a number of grotesquely humorous moments. But one of the films singled out by the Academy, despite being a dramatic thriller, was recently re-staged for a live reading by some of the biggest names in comedy.

Nominated for eight Oscars, Conclave tells the story of a Cardinal, played by Ralph Fiennes, who puts together the titular conclave in order to select a new Pope after the current Pope dies. Then there’s a bunch of intrigue and mystery. It’s a good movie, but it’s not funny. Right?

Film Independent recently organized a live reading of the Conclave screenplay in L.A., presented by the original filmmaker, Edward Berger, with narration provided by screenwriter Peter Straughan. And the cast included Ayo Edebiri, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad and Jason Mantzoukas.

When Mufasa: The Lion Kingopened in theaters on Dec. 20, 2024, the same weekend as Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the Lion King sequel made a little over half of Sonic 3’s $62 million opening weekend. Disney’s Mufasa earned just $35 million over the Dec. 2024 holiday weekend. Now, per The Hollywood Reporter,Mufasa has taken the lead over Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in terms of its total box office take.

Domestically, the Barry Jenkins-directed Mufasa, starring Aaron Pierre, has earned $232.7 million and its global total is around $670 million as of Feb. 9. Mufasa could jump past the $700 million before its all said and done. The film had a $200 million-plus budget, prior to marketing costs. Mufasa, the weekend of Feb. 7 through Feb. 9, added another $3.9 million to its box office tally, landing the film in fourth place for the weekend.

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is showing no signs of slowing down, as Sonic the Hedgehog 3 continues to break box office records and Sonic the Hedgehog 4has already landed a 2027 release date. Details on the Blue Blur's fourth big-screen adventure remain scarce, but it's more than likely that Ben Schwartz will return to voice Sonic while Jeff Fowler returns to the director's chair. It will also probably feature Sonic's self-proclaimed "girlfriend" Amy Rose and the mechanical menace of Metal Sonic, as both of those characters showed up in Sonic the Hedgehog 3's post-credits scene. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 benefitted significantly from the Martin Luther King holiday and has officially surpassed Timothee Chalamet starrer Wonka. The film by Jeff Fowler is going at a spectacular pace despite losing more than 250 theatres last Friday at the box office in North America. Scroll below for the deets.

Wonka was released in December 2023 and was one of the blockbuster movies of that year. It is also one of the highest-grossing films in Timothee Chalamets’ career. The musical comedy earned $218.4 million in the US and a spectacular $634.40 million worldwide, making it the eighth biggest movie of that year.

Based on Luiz Fernando’s report, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 had a great boost on Monday, Martin Luther King Day. This helped the movie surpass Wonka’s $218.4 million domestic run as the third biggest holiday corridor hit post-covid at the US box office.

The day before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 opened in theaters, Paramount Pictures announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 would debut in 2027. At the time, no specific release date was given, but following the third entry's impressive box office run and now being available on digital, the studio is planting a flag for a release date. Despite Sonic the Hedgehog 3 having done very well over the Christmas and New Year holidays, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is racing into the spring season.

Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures has set Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for a Mar. 19, 2027 release date. This puts it one week before Easter weekend, which was a similar release schedule that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 did, by opening one week before Easter in 2022. While 2027 feels like a long wait for fans, it is shorter than the two-and-a-half-year gap between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 even lit up theaters, a fourth entry in the series was officially confirmed. Now a date has been locked in, so look for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 to premiere on March 19, 2027.
