Bellamy Blake was introduced in season 1 of The 100 and went on a long and treacherous journey over seven seasons until he died right before the series finale. Bob Morley played Bellamy from the pilot until season 7, episode 13, and where he started as a character and where he ended up were two very different people. In season 1, he was selfish and arrogant, while his season 7 self was being brainwashed by a religious military group. But the final season also threw Bellamy's character development out the window, leading to some viewers disagreeing with his ending.
Taking into consideration that The 100 was a post-apocalyptic science fiction television series, characters were more likely to die in this universe than on any other show. They faced danger in every episode as they navigated environmental and human threats while also being controversial and questionable people themselves. As a result, plenty of characters died throughout The 100's seven seasons.

The 100 featured heartbreaking deaths that changed the show's dynamics. Characters like Bellamy, Jasper, and Monty met tragic fates. The sacrifices and losses in The 100 shaped the characters and storyline.
The CW's post-apocalyptic sci-fi series The 100 featured a lot of loss throughout its 100 episodes, but these The 100 deaths are the saddest in the show. Because The 100 takes place during a time period when Earth is no longer fully inhabitable, the conflicts between characters were almost always a matter of survival, and death truly did lurk around every corner. The show was never one to hold back in terms of delivering emotional moments, and it certainly wasn't shy when it came to killing off pivotal characters starting in just the third episode of The 100. In fact, many of the deaths changed things about the show as a whole.
The characters in this series were a complex bunch, with many doing seemingly unforgivable things.

Into the Badlands is “a high-octane sci-fi martial arts series” created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The AMC series is set in a dystopian future with humanity in ruins because of wars, and it follows the story of Sunny, a fierce warrior who rescues a teenager with a bounty on his head. They both journey through a dangerous territory known as the Badlands to survive. Into the Badlands stars Daniel Wu in the lead role, with Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark, Madeleine Mantock, Ally Ioannides, Marton Csokas, and Nick Frost starring in supporting roles. Into the Badlands is a unique series with a unique setting, and that’s why it is hard to find a series with a similar setting and story elements, but we have tried very hard to find shows with similar story elements and many high-octane action sequences.

The 100 knew how to do a redemption arc. Throughout its seven-season run on The CW, post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama repeatedly doubled down on one of its many thought-provoking mantras: there are no good guys. The “good guys” often did terrible things in the name of survival, and the “bad guys” were rarely through-and-through evil (although they could be “cockroaches”). Timed to the recent 10-year anniversary of the series premiere, we chatted with Richard Harmon, Lindsey Morgan, and Henry Ian Cusick about how they came to join the show, the extent to which Harmon and Cusick saw their characters as villains during the first season, and why they think The 100 has stuck around in the sci-fi genre. Murphy wasn’t originally Murphy: he was “John #1,” and he wasn’t meant to live past the show’s second episode. Harmon recalled the process of first auditioning for the show: “I originally auditioned for the role of Bellamy,...

The ground. That’s the dream. Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) first spoke those words in voiceover narration on March 19, 2014, when The 100’s pilot episode aired… and 101-counting-Bellamy (Bob Morley) juvenile delinquents set foot on an irradiated Earth to the tune of “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. Over seven seasons of characters fighting tooth and nail for survival, fan-favorite romances blossomed, impossible choices made it clear there were no good guys, and levers were repeatedly pulled in season finales. We chatted with Morley and Taylor about the process of joining and filming The 100 a decade ago, and what the show means to them today. Morley said he could have read for the character of Finn (Thomas McDonnell), but he ultimately decided to audition for Bellamy. While he said the casting process was “by the book,” aside from Eli Goree [who played Wells Jaha], he didn’t meet his future castmates until the show’s inaugural table read.

Strong character dynamics and moral dilemmas make The 100 a compelling watch, even through its ups and downs. "We Are Grounders: Part 2" from season 1 showcases intense action and sacrifices, setting the stage for the rest of the series. Season 5's "Damocles: Part Two" could have served as a satisfying series finale, wrapping up character arcs effectively.

TV plot twists that aren't planned ahead of time can feel cheap and leave dedicated viewers feeling unsatisfied. Some TV shows introduce plot twists that were not properly hinted at or developed, leaving viewers questioning if they were planned in advance.

The 100 ended with its seventh season because showrunner Jason Rothenberg felt it was the right time to conclude the story of the characters and didn't want to overstay their welcome. The series finale provided a satisfying conclusion, giving most characters fitting ends to their arcs and answering the central question of whether humanity could survive on Earth. While ending the series as originally intended was great, some argue that it was a mistake not to continue into an eighth season or spread the narrative of season 7 over multiple seasons to better explore certain plot points.

Character deaths can significantly alter the course of a television series, either improving it or leading to its downfall. When a character's death greatly affects the audience, it shows that the writers have accomplished their goal of making viewers invested in the story and its inhabitants, but that is not always a good thing. Killing off beloved characters can anger the audience, ruin revivals, and negatively impact the remaining seasons of a show.
One of the scariest parts of watching TV shows is the fear that beloved characters could die at any time, and unfortunately for these ten series, deaths completely ruined the rest of the show. Writers come up with various reasons to kill off fan-favorite characters — the actor who plays them is exiting the series, for the sake of shock value, to push the plot forward, to give motivation to another character, and so on. A woman alone in a house in the middle of nowhere is a staple recipe for modern-day Hollywood horror, and I have to admit that this sub-genre never really works out. Of course, not everything turns out to be as brilliant as Miles Flanagan’s 2016 anxiety-inducing Hush. But no matter what the quality of a movie of this kind is, there is always a hook that holds you till the end. While I’ll be Watching primarily belongs to that particular category of movies, it also brings in a science-fiction angle along with a “there must be something going on right under your nose” theme, and frankly, I am an admirer of the latter.
With all that said, I can’t possibly call I’ll Be Watching a good movie, but that is mainly due to its copped-out climax. Otherwise, it is actually very watchable and works for the most part,...

Singapore Bans ‘#Lookatme’
Singapore has banned the release of “#LookAtMe,” a feature film by local director Ken Kwek. The InfoComm Media Development Authority said that the film exceeds film classification guidelines because it denigrates a religious community. Supposedly based in true events, the film depicts a man who is offended by a pastor who preaches against homosexuality, but whose behavior contradicts his teachings. The protagonist’s viral video about the aberrant priest lands him in jail, causing the man’s gay identical twin to fight for justice.
“#LookAtMe,” premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival and local media report that the film has been selected for next month’s Singapore International Film Festival. But the Imda ruling means that it cannot now be shown in any form in Singapore unless Kwek is successful with an appeal.

Singapore recently banned Indian film “The Kashmir Files” on religious grounds. It is...

Newen Connect is building up its English-language scripted slate with timely, high-concept titles, including “Wagatha,” a dramatic reconstruction of the viral court case involving Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, the wives of high-profile British footballers. Newen Connect has also acquired the Australian supernatural bromance “Limbo,” and the inclusive British mystery thriller “Blindspot.”
Written by Chris Atkins, “Wagatha” (working title) charts the High Court case which stemmed from alleged leaked Instagram stories in 2019 and opposes Rooney and Vardy. Produced by Chalkboard and commissioned by Channel 4, “Wagatha” stars Chanel Cresswell, the BAFTA-winning actor of “This is England” and Natalia Tena (“Game of Thrones”). Filming just wrapped in September.
The case which has been coined #WagathaChristie in reference to the English detective novelist Agatha Christie, has already been thoroughly covered on social media and in the press, especially in the U.S., but this “TV event will go further, immersing audiences inside...

After a banner 2021 for high-end genre films, industry vets are hopeful that the fantastic can resurrect the corpse of pre-covid theatrical distribution.
As bolts of lightning reanimated the body of Frankenstein’s monster, Julia Ducournau’s “Titane,” which turned heads when it took the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and Sundance Grand Jury prize-winner “Nanny,” a supernatural tale from director Nikyatu Jusu, have revitalized the festival scene.
While “Nanny” may have been the jewel in the genre crown at Sundance, the influence that genre cinema held over 2022’s first major festival was wide-ranging and undeniable. Chloe Okuno’s psychological thriller “Watcher” impressed — segueing into several sales deals — as did Hanna Bergholm’s psycho-horror feature “Hatching,” sold by Wild Bunch and Charades-sold Spanish standout “Piggy,” the follow-up to Carlota Pereda’s 2019 Spanish Academy Award-winner “Cerdita.”

Not every show is lucky enough to have a male lead that stands the test of time. The 100 hit the series' lottery with Bellamy Blake, a character that only got better and more beloved as the seasons went on.
Bob Morley effortlessly brought such a strong character to life, making sure Bellamy stood out on- screen from his first scene. But with that honor came the burden of dealing with anything the show may throw your way.
For Bellamy, that meant season after season of death and destruction, all in the name of someday doing better. There was that promise of a happy ending without any follow-through, even though Bellamy deserved happiness the most.
During The 100's seven-season run, Bellamy suffered from every direction in the hopes that there was a meaning to all of this.
Bob Morley's presumably last days of filming reflected on the Bellamy legacy with words like battered and bruised.

As a Critics Choice Association member, I'm thrilled to share information on the first Critics Choice Super Awards presentation!
At TV Fanatic, we embrace sophistication and fun, so when awards season comes along, it can be alarming to realize that so much of what we cover (and watch) isn't considered award-worthy.
Heck, we've even written an article about it!
But those of you who love genre television and films will no longer go unrepresented. The Critics Choice Super Awards will air on The CW (of course!) on Sunday, January 10.
And while there isn't a ceremony that will have all of the critics and nominees in one location, that's not stopping us from offering one heck of a great night with all of your favorites!

The relationships that we see on television can be intriguing for many different reasons, from drama to romance to humor to just about every type of bond represented on our screens.
However, some relationships take that even further, making the pairing or their journey more memorable than most. There isn't always an explanation of why that may be; sometimes, the way characters interact stands out.
But one thing is the same for every memorable TV relationship: they were worth the wait.
Whether there was a wait for them to share scenes or a wait for something like that to appear onscreen, it was worth it.
And this isn't only about romantic relationships, because bonds with family and friends stay with you long after a show is done.
Here is a selection of a few relationships that displayed a connection meaningful enough to really stand out long after an episode or the show aired.

It is always unfortunate when the final season of a show doesn't deliver the way it could have. The potential that Season 7 of The 100 had was crushed pretty quickly.
When it was made clear that the male lead wasn't going to be getting adequate promotion or screentime, it was only a matter of time before everything else caught up with the circumstances.
The 100 had the chance to send off the series with respect to the original story that was being told and with respect to the fans that have been around all this time.
Instead, fans found themselves feeling robbed of a proper ending, of a real final storyline, and of the resolution that we have been waiting years for. The last season was a hollow exploration of what the show once was, getting distracted with too many antagonists and not enough emotion.
There was no heart left on the show,...

When The 100 came to a close, it left many fans feeling shocked and dissatisfied with the show's ending.
Not only did the fan-favorite romance between Bellamy and Clarke never come to fruition, but Clarke shot and killed Bellamy long before the series finale aired.
For those who enjoyed the relationship between Bellarke and were disappointed about how it all went down, New Amsterdam's Sharpin might help fill the void.
In addition to Max and Helen's dynamic, paralleling Bellamy and Clarke's, Aaron Ginsburg, who previously wrote on The 100, is a producer of the show. It's the best of both worlds.
The plot and setting of these TV series may be drastically different, but, surprisingly, the core is the same.
NBC's medical procedural took two characters that didn't start out on the best of terms and made them each other's person.

It’s always difficult to bid farewell to a beloved television ensemble, but especially so for the cast of The CW’s The 100. Many viewers have literally grown up alongside these characters, who started as juvenile delinquents and ended as adults who had lived several lifetimes. Even for older viewers, the characters and the actors behind them have become much beloved.
In this case, we can happily say until we meet again, as many cast members have already lined up new projects. Some are jumping immediately into new TV series, while others are exploring film franchises. At least one actor who got the chance to try her hand at directing on The 100 is honing that craft in future projects.

Tonight, a long quest for survival comes to an end. The 100 is saying goodbye after seven seasons and if the past few episodes (and the past seven seasons) are any indication, it's not going to go out with a straight up happy ending. That's simply not The 100's style, as showrunner Jason Rothenberg reminded us when we pointed out how particularly cruel the show has been these past few weeks. "We've never been kind in that way," Rothenberg said. "We have always tried to have the...

The body count continues to pile up on The 100.
The 100 Season 7 Episode 14, which aired Wednesday on The CW, featured another tragic death.
"A Sort of Homecoming" found Clarke, Gabriel, Madi, and the others arriving on Earth as they tried to find shelter in the bunker.
Unfortunately, Sheidheda arrived, with the aim of taking down Madi. J.R. Bourne's alter ego had one of the suits from Bardo on, so he was invisible.
While Gabriel taught Madi how to play the piano, he was mortally wounded by Sheidheda.
He managed to get back up and fight off Sheidheda, providing enough time for Madi to break free and find Gaia and Indra for assistance.
Unfortunately, it was game over for Chuku Modu's Gabriel, who succumbed to his injuries.
It was a powerful goodbye, with Gabrielle claiming he was ready to leave his life behind, and given that he's been around for hundreds of years,...
