A couple forced apart by immigration status and a 2,000 mile border between the United States and Mexico made the most of a rare lapse in border rules Saturday.
The couple were able to say “I do” while standing in two different countries as authorities opened a gate known as the “Door of Hope” at Friendship Park which straddles San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico.
Somewhat of a modern day Romeo and Juliet, the couple were determined to bind themselves together during a wedding witnessed by Border Patrol agents and 11 other families who were there to briefly reunite with loved ones.

Martin Riggs’ devotion to his dead wife, Miranda, has nearly killed him several times since Lethal Weapon‘s debut. But in the Season 2 premiere, his love for his police partner — and vice-versa — proves a lifesaver.
At the start of “El Gringo Loco,” Riggs is still Mia in Baja, Mexico, two weeks after the events of the finale. Murtaugh is there, too, searching for his co-worker on his own dime — much to the consternation of Trish back at home. But when shots are fired in a fancy hotel and a body is thrown out the window, Murtaugh has an inkling he’s close.

The candy seems to come out earlier and earlier every year during the run-up to Halloween. And so does the uproar over certain Halloween costumes. Spirit Halloween has come under fire for a Halloween costume consisting of a faux uniform for a Border Patrol officer — a costume that some consumers have deemed “offensive” in light of the current heated debate over immigration. The costume bears a name tag reading Agent Wall, a seeming nod to President Trump’s vow to build a wall between the United States and Mexico — especially since, according to Gothamist, the costume is being sold next.

"How many times have you done this? And how many times have you been caught?" The short film we're featuring this week is actually connected with a feature film arriving in theaters over the next few months. Titled Transpecos, the film is about three Border Patrol agents working a remote desert checkpoint - see the trailer here. Before making the feature, director Greg Kwedar and producer Clint Bentley made a short film titled Dakota, also about Border Patrol agents who aren't the stereotypical agents we've all heard about on the news. The story is about a discovery in a truck that causes one agent "to question the very nature of his job". It's an impressive little short film and it's cool to see that this was the inspiration directly leading to the feature-length film. This is also a good look at what it takes to make a career as a filmmaker.

In the tense border drama “Transpecos,” the line between right and wrong blurs as the heat rises in the desert. The film follows three border patrol agents — the rookie Benjamin Davis (Johnny Simmons), the seasoned pro Lance Flores (Gabriel Luna), and the callous veteran Lou Hobbs (Clifton Collins Jr.) — who man a check point on a remote highway. One day on a routine stop, Hobbs examines a suspicious vehicle, but when the car tries to take off Hobbs shoots the passenger as they discover a trunk filled with cocaine. Before they can call it in, Davis pulls a gun on the two agents and claims that he must smuggle the drugs to a drop-off point or else his family will die. Drawn into a violent journey, all three must contend with dark secrets, malleable morality, and a potentially terrible fate. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

The National Border Patrol Council has endorsed Donald Trump for president, stating that “Mr. Trump is as bold and outspoken as other world leaders who put their country’s interests ahead of all else.” “Our current political establishment has bled this country dry, sees their power evaporating, and isn’t listening to voters who do all the heavy lifting,” read an official statement published on Wednesday. “Trump is opposed by the established powers specifically because they know he is the only candidate who actually threatens the established powers that have betrayed this country.” The Nbpc has a “longstanding practice of not endorsing presidential candidates.

Captain America Didn’T Take A Conservative Approach
Sometimes a banana is just a banana.
It was all over the news. Well, all over Fox News, anyway. Captain America was targeting conservatives.
Which he wasn’t.
What happened – as best I can fathom, as even Quentin Tarantino would have had a difficult time following the nonlinear storytelling in Captain America: Sam Wilson #1 – is this. Some weeks back, super villain the Iron Nail neutralized the Super-Soldier Serum in body of Steve Rogers, the original Captain America. Without its effects, Steve Rogers, who was born in 1920, found his body rapidly aging to that of a 94-year-old man. (Question: did the story explain why Steve’s body rapidly aged to 94? Sure Steve was born on July 4, 1920, or 94 years ago, when he lost the Serum. But he spent all the time from early 1945 until The Avengers #4 in suspended animation. Marvel says Fantastic Four...

Earlier this month it was rumored that Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris and Scott Adkins had joined the ranks of Simon West's The Expendables 2. A few days later the Van Damme and Norris roles were confirmed, but there was still a big question: is Scott Adkins in or out? Today the answer to that query has arrived. MovieHole has learned that Adkins has indeed joined Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Liam Hemsworth and the rest for the summer blockbuster sequel. While we don't know too much about Van Damme's role in the film (other than the fact that there will be a "big showdown" between him and Stallone), apparently it's one that requires henchmen as that's what Adkins will play. This will be far from the first time that Van Damme and Adkins have worked together, as both starred in The Sheperd: Border Patrol...

A proposed plea deal in Willie Nelson's marijuana possession case has been officially rejected by a Texas judge. The 'On the Road Again' singer was arrested in November 2010 by the Us Border Patrol when authorities discovered several ounces of pot on his tour bus. Nelson had reportedly agreed to plead no contest to a charge of misdemeanour possession of drug paraphernalia as well as pay a $$500 (£310) fine and $$280 (£173) in court costs, with the presiding judge Becky Dean-Walker initially lodging her agreement. Judge Dean-Walker has now reversed her decision and will deny the plea agreement, citing a desire to avoid any accusations of favouritism due to Nelson's status as a popular musician. The justice explained to Reuters: "I'm not going to be guilty of signing something because someone is a celebrity... Everybody should be (more)...

Forks, Wash. -- Benjamin Roldan Salinas, a forest worker in the country illegally, leapt into the frigid Sol Duc River to escape a pursuing U. S. Border Patrol Agent, disappearing into the fast-moving waters.
For more than three weeks, his family, friends and volunteers – including other illegal immigrants – scoured the dense forest along the swollen river's banks for any sign of him.
The Border Patrol suspected that Salinas had survived and fled. Still, as many as 150 people at a time continued to look.
"They believed he was out there somewhere because he hadn't gone home," Clallam County Sheriff's Sergeant Brian King said.
The search ended June 4 when a family friend spotted the 43-year-old Salinas' bloated, decomposing body entangled in roots downstream, according to the sheriff's report.
His death heightened tensions in what has become a protracted engagement between the Border Patrol and the immigrant population of Forks – the small, remote...

Tucson - The National Border Patrol Council, said in a press statement today that recent comments made by Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano concerning border safety, "Are wrong and give citizens a false sense of security." regarding Napolitano's statement made during a visit of Arizona border towns this week, when she stated that the idea that violence is spilling into U.S. border cities is "wrong" and that, "the border is better now than it ever has been."...

Yorkshire born and raised Glenn Foster’s childhood dream was to work as a stunt man. When he was 10 his parents bought him a book called ‘Hollywood Stunt Man’ that was filled with inspiring images, and he was enthralled during his early teens watching a succession of American films and TV shows that featured the work of the men he read about in the book. He even went so far as to carefully recreate some of the book’s stunts with teenage pals; these were done carefully based on the information he gleaned, rather than as reckless teenage behaviour.
As he considered career options during his later teens, ‘stunt man’ was not something that guidance counsellors had on their lists or that he thought of as a legitimate career possibility. He became an outdoors instructor after a brief stint in the military, and by his early 20s was working as...

Still mourning the shooting spree that claimed a 9-year-old girl's life, Arizona is bracing for the trial of another accused child-killer: a female Minuteman. Terry Greene Sterling reports.
Early on the morning of May 30, 2009, Raul Flores heard a knock at the door of his Arivaca, Arizona, home. When he opened it, he found a man and a woman claiming to be law-enforcement officers in search of fugitives. Minutes later, the man shot Flores to death. Then, authorities say, he pumped three bullets into Flores' wife, Gina Gonzalez, who survived but played dead. "Why did you shoot my mom?" Gonzalez's 9-year-old daughter, Brisenia Flores, asked the gunman, according to prosecutors. Those were her last words. The man put a gun to her head, fired off two rounds, and killed her.

Well 2010 is almost over and it’s time for my obligatory Top Ten of the year. As with last year I’ll be compiling two movie Top 10’s – one cinematic releases and one direct to DVD list. Why? Well the majority of movie sites and blogs give credence to all the big releases of the year but, as I try to do all year, I want to highlight some films which you might have missed that you really should hunt down and watch.
This list is completely subjective, and you may not agree with any or all of my choices or the order in which they appear. Either way I’d love to read your thoughts on my choices good or bad, so don’t forget to leave a comment. Anyway, onto the list:
10) Hunt to Kill
Jim Rhodes (“Stone Cold” Steve Austin) is one bad ass Border Patrol Agent.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano attended the funeral of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry who was fatally shot while pursuing a gang last week in Arizona. In a phone call where Napolitano offered condolences to the family, the father of the murdered agent, angry that the border is still not secure, told her "you gotta wake your man up in the White House" and she allegedly responded "he's done more in the last two years than any other president." However, to the Terry family such sentiment represented "empty words."...

Country-music legend Willie Nelson was arrested Friday in Texas and charged with marijuana possession after police allegedly found six ounces of marijuana on his tour bus. The bus was stopped at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, east of El Paso, reports the El Paso Times. He posted bond and was released. Nelson, 77, was headed from California to Austin, where he owns a ranch. Nelson could face a minimum of six months in prison if convicted. Hudspeth County sheriff Arvin West told the El Paso Times that Nelson would be treated like any inmate if incarcerated in his jail.

This story can’t be told in just one toke, erm, take. Apparently, country music star Willie Nelson was arrested for possession of pot this weekend. He was on his tour bus en route to Austin, Texas from California when the Border Patrol police found the high-herbs on him at a checkpoint. Not the best way to start the morning, because he was supposedly busted at 9 am. No word on whether he had his morning hit of …coffee, by then. Willie’s bail of $2,500 bond was posted the same day, so no harm, no foul. Besides, he’s used to being caught with “stuff” on his person. Never-learns-his-lesson-Nelson was busted in 2006 for pot and mushrooms when his tour bus was stopped in Louisiana because, as a spokesperson explained, “The tour bus was stopped on a common interstate vehicle inspection, and when the trooper approached the bus door a strong odor of marijuana was detected…...
