Alex grew up in South Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Started doing radio and
television work at the age of 9. In radio he did a number of voice
overs for the PNE, General Motors, and was the voice of a VTech
children's educational toy called "Fishing for Phonics". In television,
he appeared in Police Academy with Michael Winslow, Cold Squad, several
commercials, and a TV pilot called It's Ture. By the age of 12, decided
to focus on his studies in school but spent most of his time studying
theatre, acting in almost all of his high school's productions - his
pinnacle role being the Emcee in Cabaret. After graduating high school,
he attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA), earning a
diploma after 3 years of studies. During his 3rd year at CCPA, he was a
member of the elite 12 person semi-professional Company C college
theatre company, where they performed 3 full scale productions in only
4 months. The productions were Shakespeare's "As You Like It", a
musical titled "City of Angels" directed by Jeff Hyslop, and Neil
Simon's "Laughter on the 23rd Floor".
