On the morning of April 25, testimony began in the second rape trial of That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson after an initial trial ended last November in a hung jury and mistrial.
The first witness on the stand was one of Masterson’s alleged victims, Jane Doe 3, who had been in a relationship with Masterson between 1996 and 2002.
Deputy Da Reinhold Mueller asked her how she was feeling.
“Not great,” she said.
When Mueller asked what might be causing her concern about testifying, she said, “I’m scared.”
“What are you scared of?...

“Candy Crush” fans, after much hype and anticipation CBS’s new TV game show finally premiered, hosted by Mario Lopez. What did You think of the first episode, which pitted “Survivor’s” Joe Anglim, Kelley Wentworth, Woo Hwang and Jeremy Collins against “Big Brother’s” Frankie Grande, Caleb Reynolds, Da’Vonne Rogers and Paul Abrahamian? The first episode of CBS’s new game show “Candy Crush,” based on the jaw-droppingly successful mobile game, pitted cast members of “Big Brother” against those from “Survivor.” Representing “Big Brother” were Season 16 standouts Frankie Grande and Caleb Reynolds, and Season 18 players Da’Vonne Rogers and Paul Abrahamian, while the four “Survivor: Second Chance” castaways […]...

On Sunday's episode of "Big Brother," the show's first transgender houseguest Audrey hit a major snag in her game. Fellow houseguests discovered that she was manipulating them, and those jilted gamers confronted her like an angry mob in front of the White House. It was astonishing, yet a completely typical day in the life of CBS' most perverse reality show. You have to wonder what makes this game of organized pettiness so fun. Better yet, you have to wonder what kind of viewership keeps the show's ratings at a consistent high. The fact is that "Big Brother" fans are completely distinct from other reality show fans, and they know it. Here's why. 1. "Big Brother" fans don't convince newcomers to watch. They're content being with their own kind. "Big Brother" fans are like soap opera devotees: They're a lone klatch who gossip among themselves about their obsession. "Big Brother" fans know...

Vince Sly does not have a feather in his hair as we talk in the aftermath of his "Survivor: Worlds Apart" elimination. We're on the phone, so I have to take his word for it. Vince also notes that he's not a coconut vendor, even if that's how he was introduced on "Survivor." He owns Coconut Caravan and that is, indeed, business that sells coconuts, but that's only a weekend job. He's actually a holistic counselor and owner of four art galleries. Yes, Vince says things like, "I’ll never badmouth anybody in the show because you really are the center of your own microcosmic universe when you’re out there. Every thought, emotion, feeling, sentiment you have feels like it’s going to alter all of existence no matter what you do." But he also says far more pragmatic things like noting that the difference between him and The...

10. Top Chef: Every week I find myself in amazement without how entertaining a reality show about cooking can be. We can't even taste the food, and yet the competition is compelling, even on weeks -- like this one -- that no one is eliminated.
9. Raising Hope: As good as "Raising Hope" is on a week-to-week basis, it feels like it's in something of a rut, headed down the same path as "My Name is Earl," which is to say: A funny show, but one where the characters never really grow and the relationship-dynamics rarely change. I'd like to see a shake-up.
8. Survivor: Fuck you, Russell. Fuck you. It's about goddamn time.
7. Castle: A few months ago, I wrote about how the first six scenes of "Castle" each week follow the same predictable path. About a month later, they started altering the opening sequence of events considerably. There's...

Q: Growing up, I was a huge fan of the Peanuts comic strips and collected all the TV specials. After I came out and when he was alive, I wondered what Charles M Schulz's relationship was with the Lgbt community, especially considering that Billie Jean King, a major lesbian icon, was mentioned frequently throughout the strip, and many people site Peppermint Patty and Marcie as pre-lesbian. Yet he seems to have been a conservative man. So what were his thoughts and insights on the Lgbt community? – Snoopyfan, Hudson, New Hampshire

Since this is my first Amazing Race post on Spoiler TV, let me take a minute to give you some background. My name is Sean Furfaro and I've been writing a blog for just over 2 years. It's called Sean's Random Thoughts, and some of you may recognize that name from the Lost recaps I did during the sixth season, which were featured on DarkUFO. I am presently recapping the current seasons of Survivor and The Amazing Race, and my recaps will be up within 30 minutes of when the show finishes airing on the East Coast. I hope you enjoy them. (Feel free to head to the site to catch up on the recaps for earlier episodes.)
With all of the sheep-head eating completed (presumably) for this season, the Amazing Racers found themselves on the way to St. Petersburg, Russia. In this “city full of culture”, why are the teams dealing...

Survivor creator/producer Mark Burnett is going to reimagine the 1970s/80s ABC drama series Fantasy Island as a reality game show.
Burnett's makeover will see 12 everyday people embark to a beautiful island resort and slip on the white business suit of Mr. or Ms. Roarke (who was played by Ricardo Montalban in the original series.) There they get to see who is the best island host and can help make other peoples' wishes come true.
The show is being made by Sony Pictures Television who will start the process of selling it to a network shortly.
I'd like to suggest taking this idea a step further. Instead of having ordinary people be the contestants, let's invite reality show producers. Instead of making their fantasies come true (which would likely be having networks pay them big sums of money for their show ideas), let's have it so the producers have...

- With the forthcoming releases of Control and I'm Not There - the folks over at Time Out (London) brought their collective of film and music critics together to chart the top films pertaining to music legend. The Top 50 list manages to make no mention of a recent Hollywood-ized bio-tales of Ray Charles and Johnny Cash (thank you!) and from the chunk of films that I have seen the positioning seems a propos. Todd Haynes' who has his Dylan creation coming out soon tops this list with one of my favorite films from the helmer in Superstar: the Karen Carpenter Story. Personally I would have found space another Da Pennebaker film in Depeche Mode 101 and Grant Gee's Meeting People is Easy - a brilliant Radiohead doc. Here's the top 50 list -1 Superstar: the Karen Carpenter Story (Todd Haynes, 1987)2 Don't Look Back (Da Pennebaker, 1967)3 Gimme Shelter (David Maysles/Albert Maysles/Charlotte Zwerin,
