For his most successful wrestling gimmick, his opponent would drop him on his butt and he would scrunch his face and begin to cry. The audience would begin to chant "crybaby, crybaby." He would be officially billed as "Crybaby Cannon". These would be publicity photos with a close-up of his face doing the cry.
When he was around 300 pounds, he would sometimes be billed as "Man Mountain Cannon," an homage to legendary wrestler Man Mountain Dean, who passed away in 1953, the year that Cannon began his wrestling career.
