He was a controversial and highly influential American radio talk show
host in the 1980s and 90s. He worked in several markets but is best
known for his long stint in the Tampa Bay area, from 1985 to 1989, and
again from 1993 to 2000. After retiring, the rest of his years were marred by declining health. He died of kidney failure in 2006 at age 61, leaving his wife of 16 years, Mary.
