- Director
Yaphathtoar Chartine is a story artist and the owner of Yaphattainment - a boutique media arts company through which she explores multiple art disciplines while creating tangible dreams.
Performance art, writing and photography are the foundation of her work but she also incorporates other art forms to balance her entertaining or otherwise thought-provoking and (hopefully) uplifting expressions. Her work extends to arts education, community involvement and humanitarian awareness through Yaphattainment Art Society (YAS), which began as Yaphathtoar Academy of Dramatic Arts (YADA) in the summer of 2003 as the first entity of its kind in the Bahamas (her childhood playground) to offer a comprehensive approach to dramatic arts training and the film production business.
Yaphathtoar's original screenplay, "Mwen Solé", won 3rd place in the 77th Annual Writer's Digest Competition in the Television/Movie Script category. As her first screenwriting effort, this is an accomplishment she remains especially proud of.
