Djaka Souaré is an actress and filmmaker. Her credits include the HULU special "Black Stories Present: Your Attention Please", directed by TriBeCa 2019 award-winner Phillip Youmans. Djaka currently stars in the horror/comedy "Cut Me If You Can" screening at Clermont-Ferrand FF in February 2024. She acts in and produced Zainab Jah & Timothy Naylor's "Reunion", short film qualified for Oscar contention in 2025. Djaka's first short film, "Jazz in Wakanda", which she wrote, directed, produced & in which she starred, was an Official selection at Urban World, Nitehawk Shorts, NY African FF, etc, and sold to COMCAST as part of "Black Power Series". Her pilot script "Ainoah", dystopian tale of a secret society of multicultural women, won the 2022 Kosinima grant. In 2023, she was selected for the CANEX/AFRIFF program "Script to Screen" to develop her first feature, and was one of the 25 screenwriters to win the pitching competition. Face of head of rebellion soldier Halima in the video game "Call of Duty", Djaka is part of WIF, NYWIFT & Free The Work. Of Guinean & French descent, she speaks English, French & Spanish fluently.
