Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have been locked in to reprise the roles of hero Matt Murdock / Daredevil and villain Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, characters they originally played on the Marvel-inspired Netflix series Daredevil, on the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again ever since Marvel and Disney+ started pushing the show forward. When their supporting cast was being assembled at the end of 2022, it was announced that Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) had signed on to appear on the show as a love interest to the Fisk – with the word being that she was taking over the role of his wife Vanessa Marianna Fisk, who had previously been played by Ayelet Zurer on the Netflix show. Apparently there had been scheduling issues with Zurer, who said she was “sad to not take part” in the new series… which, at the time, wasn’t meant to line up with the Netflix show perfectly. Jon Bernthal's Punisher is officially back in action. New photos taken from the set of "Daredevil: Born Again" have confirmed the return of the actor's version of Frank Castle, who first appeared on the Marvel Netflix shows nearly a decade ago. But five years after "The Punisher" was canceled by the streaming service, Bernthal is reuniting with his old frenemy Matt Murdock (once again played by Charlie Cox).

The above image sees Bernthal looking very much like the Frank Castle fans of the Netflix shows remember -- bloody, jacked, and ready for vengeance on the streets of New York City. You can also see Bernthal and Cox reunited in costume below. Unfortunately, we don't get a great sense of what's going on in the scenes in question, but it certainly looks like they're getting bloody and kicking ass. But are they on friendly terms this time around?...

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is the hottest upcoming MCU show. The show will finally merge Daredevil completely with the MCU and will serve kind of like a soft reboot of the character. The story is in large part unknown. We know that Murdock will be starting a new law firm, and will along the way cross paths with Wilson Fisk, as he is running for the mayor of New York.
The show has been through a lot over the course of development, including being almost completely scrapped at the point where more than half of the episodes were already filmed. The show took on a new direction following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike with plenty of actors from Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ reprising their roles. Elden Henson’s Foggy and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen are going to make a grand return to the show, as well as Bernthal’s Punisher.

We can barely contain our excitement about the news that Disney+ is bringing back Daredevil in a bid to reignite the character for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The glimpses of Matt Murdock that we got on Echo and Spiderman: No Way Home were great, but we have missed this tortured, hopeless do-gooder and his heart of gold.
At the risk of sounding like a superfan (guilty), this Marvel nerd has faithfully watched everything that has led up to this moment, hoping for an eventual Daredevil return.
Now that it's actually happening, there's a lot to cover -- let's dive in.

MCU’s attempts to change how studios approached TV has been a hit or miss, as apart from Loki and a few exceptions, the reception to most Disney Plus MCU shows has been mixed. And it seems the failure of high-budget shows like She-Hulk and Secret Invasion was the last nail in the coffin, as moving forward, the studio will be approaching the medium more traditionally.
This resulted in MCU’s upcoming show, Daredevil Born Again, starring Charlie Cox, undergoing a complete overhaul, with its production going back to square one. Fortunately, this resulted in two fan favorites from the original show being incorporated into the new one, and Cox couldn’t be happier about the matter.

Following Daredevil: Born Again‘s initial announcement, it was revealed Foggy and Karen weren’t going to be jumping ships from Netflix to the MCU.

The upcoming show “Daredevil: Born Again” is getting a lot of attention, both because fans are really excited and because it’s had some problems during production, like strikes and disagreements over the direction of the show.
It’s still a bit of a mystery how much this new show will link to the Daredevil series on Netflix, and not much is known about the story. What we do know is Daredevil starts a new law firm, will fight a villain named Muse, and Wilson Fisk is trying to become mayor. A few characters from the Netflix series, like Foggy played by Elden Henson and Karen played by Deborah Ann Woll, were seen on set, so it looks like they’re coming back. For a while, people weren’t sure if Jon Bernthal’s Punisher would make a comeback because of all the secrecy around the show and Bernthal’s mixed messages.

One of the most highly anticipated MCU productions is certainly ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ This is partly due to the fan-fueled hype and partly due to its turbulent production that’s been plagued with everything from the SAG-AFTRA strike to creative differences in what the showrunners wanted and what the studio wanted.
It yet remains unclear how connected ‘Born Again’ will be to the Netflix series, and the majority of the plot remains largely unknown except for the fact that Daredevil will be starting a new law firm, he will face off against Muse, and Wilson Fisk will be running for Mayor. What we do know is that several notable characters from Netflix’s production will be making a return. Many fans are excited to see Elden Henson's return as Foggy Nelson in the McU's upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series. Still, it seems Marvel Studios will make one big change to the character.
After initially planning to release an 18-episode season, Marvel Studios ultimately scrapped most of its plans for the Disney+ series, firing the previous writers and completely reconstructing one of its most important projects.
Initial reports stated that Henson's Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page wouldn't be reprising their roles from the Netflix Daredevil series. However, after the upcoming show was reworked, it was confirmed that they would both appear in some capacity.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ has become a highly discussed project within the MCU, generating buzz fueled by both eager fans and the tumultuous journey of its production. From labor strikes to creative clashes between showrunners and studio, the series has faced its share of challenges.
Recently, news broke that parts of the show would be reworked, followed by an announcement of a fresh creative team stepping in. Dario Scardapane is set to lead as the new showrunner, joined by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as co-directors.
Marvel intends to blend existing footage with new narrative arcs under Scardapane’s guidance, while Benson and Moorhead will wrap up the first season. Though the episode count is uncertain—originally slated for 18—insider information from Daniel Richtman suggests the inaugural season will consist of 9 episodes. Daredevil: Born Again? More like Daredevil on Netflix: Born Again!
When Disney announced the MCU TV series Daredevil: Born Again, the studio played coy about the show’s relationship to the Netflix series that preceded it. Yes, Charlie Cox would once again play blind lawyer turned protector of Hell’s Kitchen Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio would return as his enemy Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime.
At first, the distinction made sense. While Daredevil remained strong, especially through its third season, shows such as Iron Fist and The Defenders suffered from stories stretched thin and lackluster performances. Furthermore, the show’s rough violence and sexuality made them a poor fit with the MCU’s soft PG-13 aesthetic.
However, with each month, it seems more and more like Daredevil: Born Again will be a direct continuation of the Netflix shows. Not...

One of the most highly anticipated projects in the MCU pipeline is ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ The series generated considerable buzz upon its early development announcement, but fans were taken aback when it was revealed that it wouldn’t serve as a direct continuation of the previous ‘Daredevil’ show on Netflix; instead, it was positioned as a soft reboot. Previously, rumor had it that in the original version of the upcoming MCU Disney+ series, neither Foggy nor Karen would have returned. Woll had previously gone on record to state that Marvel Studios never reached out to her about returning.
However, recently, following a creative restructuring of the show, reports started claiming both of Matt Murdock's close friends from his former Netflix series would be properly making a comeback.

The Man Without Fear’s archnemesis will finally make their MCU debut in Daredevil: Born Again. No, not Kingpin; Vincent D’Onofrio has already mastered that part. And no, we don’t mean Stilt-Man, who hasn’t lumbered into live-action yet.
We’re referring to the master assassin Bullseye. Deadline reports that Wilson Bethel will join the cast of Daredevil: Born Again, which hopefully means fans will finally get the chance to see Bullseye done right in live action.
Of course, Bullseye has been portrayed on screen before. The 2003 movie Daredevil stuffed the screen with too many characters, including Colin Farrell as Bullseye. Writer and director Mark Steven Johnson didn’t take the most subtle approach, and basically let Farrell do whatever he wanted as the man who couldn’t miss. Wilson Bethel, who played Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye on Netflix’s Daredevil, is reprising his role on Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again, sources confirm to Deadline. I hear he is set to appear in three episodes of the series, which is now filming. A rep for Marvel declined comment.
Following a production pause in mid-June due to the writers strike, Marvel Studios implemented a creative overhaul of Daredevil: Born Again, which follows original star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind attorney-turned-crimefighting superhero, and also features Vincent D’Onofrio reprising his role as mob boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin and Jon Bernthal returning as Punisher.
As part of the changes, Dario Scardapane (The Punisher) replaced Matt Corman and Chris Ord as showrunner.
The new creative direction appears also to involve bringing back more familiar faces. Word of Bethel’s casting, first reported by ComicBook.com, follows a recent InSneider report of the...
