Kelly Potts(I)
- Actress
- Producer
Kelly's first scrape with the entertainment industry was at the ripe
age of 3 when her parents were approached by a talent scout to use her
in a shampoo commercial. She's been performing ever since. She
graduated with honors from the USC Acting Conservatory where she won
multiple awards for her performances including the prestigious Jack
Nicholson Award, the James & Nony Doolittle Award, the Aileen Stanley
Award, and the Sharon Gless Scholarship. She's worked with some of the
top regional theatre directors in the U.S., including Bill Rauch of the
Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Norma Saldivar, formerly of the Milwaukee
Repertory Theatre, and Leslie Swackhamer, formerly of Seattle's ACT
Theatre and the Cleveland Play House. Nothwithstanding, some of her
favorite performances have been moonlighting in sketch comedy shows
with Drama ¾ alongside her preferred comedic sidekick Pam Cook. Kelly's
been traveling the world undertaking artistic projects both as a writer
and actress, particularly in Italy where she's collaborated with
director Stefano Salvati on multiple projects and worked with some of
Italy's glitterati, such as Gina Lollobrigida and Gianni Morandi, among
others. She's making her big screen debut in cinemas across Europe in
October 2008 in Albakiara (2008). She's
currently in development on a sitcom for US television and in
negotiations to co-produce an international release for the cinema. In
her spare time Kelly translates screenplays, acts as a ghostwriter, and
is in final edits on her middle-grade novels, which she's also
illustrated.
