On the morning of September 17th, 1987 at 6:00 AM in Vallejo,
California, a filmmaker was born. Dennis Melton Hodges was a healthy
seven pound baby boy. As an only child growing up, Dennis was blessed
with a witty and outgoing personality to the point where his father,
Dennis Howard Hodges, and mother Rose Walton knew he was destined to
entertain. His parents instilled in him at an early age that failure
was not an option in life and to always follow his dreams, whatever
they may be. They also instilled in him that education was the key to
success and that should always come first. As the years went by, Dennis
matured into a man who now stands a healthy 6'4 inches tall with that
same wittiness and outgoing personality that drives him to want to
entertain audiences around the world with his films. Dennis' dreams of
becoming a director started at the age of fourteen. Coming from a
religious background, he would frequently direct church plays, and
subsequently go on to be the assistant director of high school plays.
Following high school, he attended California State University,
Northridge where he received his Bachelor's degree in Cinema and
Television Arts. Dennis' career in the entertainment industry began
when he interned at the internet and television celebrity gossip
phenomenon known as TMZ. His drive and intense state of mind to succeed
granted him a job at TMZ as a Production Assistant. While at TMZ,
Dennis worked as hard as he could while networking with his peers. His
outgoing and hardworking personality not only gave him job security
within the company, but also propelled him to be a daily personality on
the Television show. A last, his parent's vision of him entertaining
audiences around the world had come to fruition. After 3 years of
working at TMZ, Dennis' directing itch began creeping back. He decided
to leave the company in pursuant of a Master's Degree in filmmaking and
now currently attends the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He has
worked on countless sets, and directed two short films along with a
couple spec commercials.
