Blake Harrison, a former member of grindcore band Pig Destroyer, has died at the age of 48.
Harrison became an official member of the group’s lineup in 2006, adding samples and layers of harsh noise to the band’s grindcore sound. He exited Pig Destroyer in 2022.
Harrison’s partner Lindsey Turnbullet revealed on Facebook that he had been battling and beating cancer in recent years, though he ultimately passed away from unexpected heart failure following pneumonia. Harrison’s former band and his colleagues from the Baltimore metal scene have since taken to social media to mourn his passing.
Shared Pig Destroyer on Facebook:
“Blake Hollingsworth Harrison has been our spirit animal for over 20 years.
In the early oughts, Blake’s band Daybreak and Pig Destroyer were both fledgling bands of malcontents fighting to establish our footprint in the scene. Eventually, Blake joined Pd in early 2004 helping with merch on the Grind Over UK tour.

PBS‘s World on Fire, the engrossing British drama about ordinary people trying to survive World War II, is back after a four-year absence. It’s worth the wait. Here’s what to expect in the six episodes beginning in October 1940, early in the German bombing campaign on the U.K. known as the Blitz. 1. Home front tempers flare. Proper English matriarch Robina Chase has taken in the wife of her purpose-seeking son Harry (Jonah Hauer-King), a British Army lieutenant. But Kasia (Zofia Wichlacz)—a Polish refugee and resistance fighter- itching to return to action—clashes with both her mother-in-law and the locals. Meanwhile, a mysterious new tenant, charming Sir James Danemere, is billeted at the Chase home. (Stay out of his luggage!) 2. Desert warfare roils North Africa. Harry and Sgt. Stan Rad-dings (Blake Harrison) brave German tanks and sandstorms with their new ally, the British Indian Army’s fearless...

Not sleeping in the is a big problem for many people but if they had a best friend who is also up with them, could it be really fun. The new Apple TV+ series Still Up answers that question through a sweet story about two friends Lisa and Danny suffering from insomnia, who are connected mostly through video calls.
Created by Steve Burge and Natalie Walter, Still Up has a small cast and it does a good job of focusing on the important storylines through them while also establishing their eccentricities and wants in the story seamlessly. We never feel that any of the characters in the series are out of place or forced in the story.

There’s a point midway through When Harry Met Sally when the two leads, both unable to sleep, find themselves on the phone. The actual conversation isn’t about much of anything — past relationships, what’s on TV, the ending of Casablanca. But what comes through loud and clear is the connection between them, so easy and comfortable that any fool can see they’re meant to be together.
Apple TV+’s Still Up is a whole series of When Harry Met Sally phone calls, placed between insomniac besties Lisa (Antonia Thomas) and Danny (Craig Roberts). Like their big-screen forebears, they fancy themselves “just mates”; like them, it’s evident to nearly everyone around them, us included, that they’re destined for romance. All that’s missing, alas, is When Harry Met Sally‘s most crucial ingredient: the magical chemistry to make us root for them to get there against all odds.

"I don't think you know what it's like for your partner to come alive as soon as you go to bed." Apple has unveiled an official trailer for a streaming series called Still Up, a British comedy featuring episodes directed by newcomer John Addis. This seems like a big pitch original idea, that will either become a big hit or being forgotten quickly. Bonded by insomnia, best friends Lisa (an impulsive & free-spirited aspiring illustrator) and Danny (a socially anxious yet gifted journalist) stay connected to each other late into the night and find their way through a world of wonderfully weird surprises as their relationship deepens. There are no secrets, except their feelings for each other, and while the world sleeps they spend their long nights talking despite never meeting. Antonia Thomas & Craig Roberts star as Lisa & Danny, with Blake Harrison, Lois Chimimba, Luke Fetherston, & Samantha Spiro. As a fellow insomniac,...

Still Up looks set to be one of the best comedies of the year.
Apple TV+ shared the official trailer for the new comedy series starring Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts.
Still Up is an almost romantic comedy set in the after-hours world of insomniacs Danny (Roberts) and Lisa (Thomas), who have no secrets except their feelings for each other.
The trailer zeroes Danny and Lisa's bond. They struggle to sleep and bond as they help each other through the night.
Insomnia isn't easy to handle, so having someone on the other end of a phone with you throughout that difficult time must be comforting.
While Danny and Lisa believe their bond to be platonic, it seems romantic feelings are simmering beneath the surface between them.
The logline does reveal they have no secrets except their feelings for each other, so there's a good chance the eight-part comedy will chart that throughout.

Billie Piper has been on quite a journey. From teenage popstar (and my first crush) through the tabloid obsession with her marriages to Chris Evans and – shudder – Laurence Fox, to her position, now, as one of Britain’s finest actors. I Hate Suzie – created by Piper along with Diary of a Call Girl collaborator, and Succession writer, Lucy Prebble – was a tremendous showcase for Piper’s ability, and it returns now for a short second season: I Hate Suzie Too. Get ready to be traumatised all over again.
Having hit rock bottom by the end of the first season, Suzie is now making a home for herself amid the pebbly detritus of her life as was. Her big comeback opportunity – personally as well as professionally – is a sub-Strictly reality TV show called DanceCrazee. But behind the make-up and glitter, leotards and legwarmers, Suzie is hanging by a thread. “How do you feel?...

"All I ever got: 'sackhead took him.'" Vertical Ent. has released an official trailer for The Kindred, an indie horror thriller from the UK. This initially premiered at FrightFest in the UK this fall, and it also played at the Fantasmagoría Film Festival in Colombia. Not to be confused with the other psychological thriller called Kindred. A woman suffering from amnesia pieces together the events that led to her father's suicide, only to be haunted by the ghosts of children that she begins to suspect might've been murdered by him. Uncovering her "dark family history" could prove deadly for her child. The film's cast includes April Pearson, Blake Harrison, and James Cosmo. It certainly looks scary, a bunch of jump scares in this trailer. Check it out. Suddenly having to take on the responsibility of parenthood is never not a shock. Overnight, one's life changes completely. How much more overwhelming it must be, though, when one had just been beginning to adjust to the idea of it only to miss the latter part of the pregnancy completely. Helen (April Pearson) is comatose when her little girl is born. She had just been to visit her father when she was hit by a car; and now, on waking up, she also has to deal with the news that he has killed himself.
At least she has Greg (Blake Harrison), who has looked after their daughter and do what he can to support her too, throughout. He has had to cut back on work to do so, however, which led to them losing their home and moving back into her father’s flat, which is an understandably distressing place for her.
