Meghan McCain Recalls Heated “Hot Topics” Meeting At ‘The View’: “I Remember Yelling At The Meeting”
Although Meghan McCain has expressed she didn’t like to talk about The View, the former co-host is once again invoking her time on the ABC talk show.
On the latest episode of her podcast, McCain recalled a moment she yelled during a meeting of the show over the wealth gap.
“I had an experience while I was working at ABC News [on The View]. I was in a particularly heated Hot Topics meeting,” McCain recalled on Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat (via EW). “I remember yelling at the meeting that, ‘Some of you’ or ‘All of you are going to have to start interacting with people who don’t make $100,000 a year or more. You have to interact with someone who makes minimum wage on some level or another.'”

Meghan McCain said on the latest episode of her podcast “Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat” that she once yelled during a meeting for “The View” and called out the wealth gap in the room. McCain was a controversial co-host of the ABC daytime talk show for four seasons form 2017 to 2021. She didn’t name who she was yelling at, but presumably her co-hosts were in the room as she said it was during a meeting for the daily “View” segment “Hot Topics.”

The View’s Tuesday broadcast was one co-host short of a full panel.
At the top of the hour, just Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin sat at the show’s Hot Topics table, with Sara Haines clearly M.I.A. (She did, however, appear on Monday’s installment.) So why was Haines absent from the show? Goldberg answered that question at the top of the second segment.

Producers of the upcoming musical comedy Ghost Of John McCain have responded to angry comments made by the late senator’s daughter Meghan McCain, saying that they will again extend an invitation to Meghan and husband Ben Domenech to attend a reading of the musical before it opens Off Broadway this fall.
“We think they will love it, just as audiences have to date,” said producers Jason Rose and Max Fose in a statement responding to tweets made by Meghan McCain earlier this week in which she called the musical – which she apparently has not seen – “trash” and “a gross cash grab by mediocre desperate people.”
As Deadline reported Tuesday, Ghost of John McCain, a musical comedy set inside the brain of Donald Trump, will make its world premiere Off Broadway this fall. The musical, written by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola and produced by a team that includes political...

The talent behind the upcoming musical The Ghost of John McCain should not save a front row seat at its premiere for the late senator’s daughter Meghan McCain, as the former cohost of The View and outspoken pundit took to Twitter this week to denounce the forthcoming off-Broadway show, slam its producers and wish it has no success whatsoever.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the show is slated for a fall premiere at New York’s Soho Playhouse. The self-described “serious and satirical musical” was written by Scott Elmegreen with music and lyrics by Drew Fornarola, and its producers include political strategist Jason Rose and Max Fose, a former McCain campaign consultant.
“This is trash,” McCain wrote of the musical, adding that it’s, “Nothing more than a gross cash grab by mediocre desperate people…I hope it bombs.”

Appearing on the Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat podcast, Melissa Joan Hart is the latest former Nickelodeon star to comment on the shocking documentary Quiet on Set, which detailed allegations of abuse.
Hart appeared in Nickelodeon’s Clarissa Explains It All in 1991. She said that she had no horror stories about her experiences at the network.
But she added, “I don’t know other people’s experiences, and I’m not negating anything anybody else says. I’ve never been told these people’s stories that are in the [documentary]. And I have to say, I’ve never heard a story from a Nickelodeon star personally; nobody’s come to me and talked to me about any of these situations. I absolutely trust them, believe them, one hundred percent.’
Hart was in Orlando with Nickelodeon from 1989-94. There may have been differences between the Florida situation and Hollywood, Hart said.

Whoopi Goldberg hinted at how The View may have tried to discover who was leaking gossip about the show’s moderators to the press.
During a “Hot Topics” discussion on Thursday about a study that found an upside to being a gossip, the View moderators shared their thoughts on being a blabbermouth.
Goldberg voiced her disdain towards gossiping, saying she doesn’t see anything positive coming from it. Sunny Hostin, who said she enjoys her “tea,” noted that the study said you shouldn’t “shun your resident blabbermouth,” but Goldberg disagreed. “I do [shun them], because the resident blabbermouth is not checking to see if I’m comfortable with my business in the street and I don’t like it,” said the Egot winner.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who was a White House communications director during the Trump administration, then shared how she likes to handle rumors. “You know what I like to do?...

Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s eighth episode, reigning champion and Mother of season 15 Sasha Colby makes her recap debut to break down this season’s “Snatch Game” performances. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.
In their recap of the episode, Sasha and Trixie have fun addressing the “unsolicited shade” of this season and how even when Plane Jane calls anyone “sister” feels like subtle shade as well. Sasha gives Jane some defense by admitting that as drag queens they all “just have a crippling desire for people to love us” and Jane is no different. When it came to the reading challenge of her season, Sasha was impressed by Loosey Laduca and Malaysia Babydoll Foxx; this season the standouts for her were Jane and Xunami Muse.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on February 23 with episode 8 on MTV. Airing concurrently with the main show is its tea-spilling, backstage-focused sister series “Untucked,” now in its 15th season. For this week’s challenge, the nine remaining queens got to participate in the iconic “Snatch Game” with their best celebrity impersonations. The three safe queens this week were Dawn as Meghan McCain, Q as Amelia Earhart, and Plasma as Patti LuPone so they were the first to return to the Werk Room while the tops and bottoms received critiques from the judges.
Despite dreaming about winning “Snatch Game” for a long time, Plasma was “fine” with being safe because she wasn’t as confident with her performance as she thought she’d be. Dawn was equally fine with the decision, understanding that she didn’t stand out in the group. They both gave a “cheers” to Q for her first...

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 continued on February 23 with the eighth episode in RuPaul’s quest to find “America’s next drag superstar.” Previously in episode seven, Plasma enjoyed her shining moment as the star and challenge winner in “The Sound of Rusic” while Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige and Megami didn’t strike a chord with the judges in their supporting roles. Despite a flipless Lip Sync for Your Life, Mhi’ya came out on top once again and sent Megami back to New York.
This week, the remaining 9 queens head to the celebrity dais with the classic impersonation challenge, “Snatch Game.” Seated at the judges’ dais for episode 8 was Emmy winning host RuPaul Charles, longtime bestie Michelle Visage, recurring judge Carson Kressley, and actress Kyra Sedgwick as the extra special guest.

Political commentator Meghan McCain let loose on Vice President Kamala Harris.
In a conversation with her longtime friend and analyst Laurye Blackford, McCain discussed the Golden Globes and revealed that a friend had sent her videos of Harris’ “gaffes” to provide some entertainment. McCain specifically highlighted Harris’ 2022 speech about the passage of time, “She sounds like stoner, like a 19-year-old stoner in college who’s high at 3 a.m. She makes me so uncomfortable,” McCain said on her podcast. “I don’t like watching her. I don’t like listening to her.”
McCain didn’t stop there. She went on to describe Harris as “really unserious” and issued a warning to her listeners that she was about to make a controversial statement about the vice president.

Update with Meghan McCain statement: Meghan McCain says her family has not authorized a new, planned musical inspired by – and named after – her late father.
But considering that the in-development musical features fictionalized characters based on public figures, John McCain included, it’s unlikely producers need any such authorization. Deadline has reached out to a show spokesperson for comment.
In an exclusive statement to The Messenger, McCain said, “My family has not authorized it nor was aware of it. I was as surprised as everyone else to see the announcement.”
This morning, producers Quixote Productions and Max Fose announced an invitation-only industry reading later this week in New York of what they call a “provocative and zeitgeisty” new musical titled The Ghost of John McCain. The musical features a book by Scott Elmegreen and score by Drew Fornarola.

Meghan McCain spoke out once again about the long-running daytime talk show, The View on the podcast, You’re Welcome, hosted by Michael Malice.
Malice, a Ukrainian author and anarchist, uses the podcast to “bring his unique perspective – and plenty of sick burns – as he discusses everything from… politics to culture,” according to the Spotify description.
McCain, a journalist, and daughter of John McCain, was a cohost on The View from 2017-2021.
She left after she had an on-air clash with cohost Joy Behar, which stemmed from Behar’s comments about not missing McCain while she was on maternity leave. McCain, who had recently given birth to her daughter, Liberty, as well as dealing with her father’s death at the time, thought it best for her and her family if she quit the show.

Political commentator Meghan McCain has opened up about a heated situation with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson following the death of her father, Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), in 2018.
On a new episode of her Meghan McCain Has Entered The Chat podcast, McCain accused Carlson of getting angry with her for criticizing political consultant Roger Stone after he tweeted that her father would “burn in hell for all eternity” in 2017.
McCain then responded to Stone via Twitter, now X.

Shortly after, McCain was at a party in London and received a text from Carlson, which she paraphrased during the podcast episode.
“[He said], ‘What you said about Roger Stone is so gross and so disgusting, he’s a good man,’ or something like that,” she said.

“In January 2022, I weighed myself in at 350 pounds and I said, ‘No. This has to change’,” Santos recalled. “In December 2022, I weighed myself in before the New Year rang in and I was 251 pounds, so that’s 99 pounds in a year.”
As for why he started taking Ozempic, Santos explained, I was pre-diabetic, “It totally helped. I think the Fda should really consider looking into it and seeing it as an option for weight loss. Obesity is the number one cause of death in this country.”
“It’s fantastic,” Santos added. “I love it.”
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Santos is facing 23 federal charges.

Meghan McCain was the conservative voice on The View for four seasons, leaving the ABC talk show following Season 24. Following her exit in 2021, the former co-host says she doesn’t watch the show “at all.”
“Partly it’s just because of my lifestyle,” McCain told The Messenger in an interview. “I don’t have time to watch this kind of content. I do listen to a lot of podcasts. And you know, it’s kind of like looking at an ex-boyfriend’s Instagram, it’s just not great for you. So no, I don’t watch.”
Although McCain is not keeping up with the opinions that former co-hosts like Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin share on the daytime talk show, the political pundit does miss some people on the show.

Meghan McCain is so done with TV.
After four years on “The View,” the political lightning rod needed a breather.
“This is so superficial,” McCain says when asked why she does not miss being on television every day. “My hair and skin were so thrashed because I wore hair extensions, and bleached my hair and had to wear full camera face makeup every day. Just the idea of having to get my hair wrecked and my face wrecked again is reason enough for me not to miss television.”
With a laugh, she exudes a sense of calm: “My hair looks so good now. My skin looks so good.”
“And,” McCain adds, “I don’t always know that everything needs my opinion.”
What McCain does miss, however, is talking about the news. And so, she’s launching her own podcast and production company.
Variety can reveal that McCain has launched Citizen Cain Productions,...

Hollywood stars are showing their support for Israel, after Hamas launched a surprise attack this past weekend, firing thousands of rockets from Gaza that have killed at least 900 people with more than 100 civilians kidnapped and held hostage.

Not since the Holocaust have this many Jews been murdered in one single day. Nine American citizens are among the climbing death toll.

Another season of The View is officially in the books. The Season 26 finale on Friday, August 4 capped a year of relative stability for the daytime talk show, which struggled to find its footing after the 2020 election and the departure of longtime conservative co-host Meghan McCain. Over the course of this season, McCain's replacement, Alyssa Farah Griffin, developed an easy rapport with the other ladies, and her presence brought an air of calmness to a show that's long been defined by on- and off-screen conflicts. Not to mention, The View's return to normalcy served as a fitting tribute to the show's creator Barbara Walters, who died on December 30, 2022 at the age of 93.

As Donald Trump’s indictment collides with his candidacy for the 2024 election, Nancy Pelosi said the former President is “very seriously damaged goods.”
“Here’s a president who has been twice impeached, multi-times indicted, we don’t know how many it will be, defeated once — I think he’s very seriously damaged goods,” Pelosi told MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki on Sunday’s “Inside With Jen Psaki.” “We have to do everything to make sure that a person so frivolous with our democracy, so jeopardizing of our national security, so disrespectful of our rule of law, would [never] be president of the United States once again.”
Despite the growing pile of evidence against Trump, the Speaker Emerita also noted her hesitancy to say there’s no way he could win again since she “never thought he could win the first time.”

Meghan McCain is no fan of the “Sex in the City” spin-off series “And Just Like That”.
In a new column for the Daily Mail, the former “View” alum indulged in her scathing review of the HBO series, which she labels as “woke slop.”

The first season of “And Just Like That” premiered in December 2021, which McCain was no fan of, stating that “the new show was all about labels; trans, cis, white, black.”
The cherry on top of McCain’s desire to give the series a shot was the return of the iconic Kim Cattrall, who plays the fan favourite and saucy seductress Samantha Jones, although it’s reportedly a tiny cameo.

While it’s hard to imagine anyone but Cynthia Nixon playing Miranda and Sarah Jessica Parker playing Carrie on HBO’s classic comedy “Sex and the City,” Nixon revealed in a new podcast Thursday that she first auditioned to play the role of Carrie on the series — and bombed. Pete Davidson and Colin Jost made headlines last year with their purchase of a decommissioned Staten Island Ferry with hopes to turn it into a floating bar and restaurant. But giving an update on their aspirations at Monday’s premiere of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member admitted that not only were they “very stoned” when purchasing the ferry — but they still aren’t quite sure about what to do with the big orange boat.

Meghan McCain has reversed her decision to stop watching HBO’s “And Just Like That” after learning that Kim Cattrall will return to the “Sex and the City” revival series.
“I couldn’t bear to watch the woke-fest ‘Sex and the City’ reboot ruin the show I loved. But now sizzling, sexy Samantha is back… and just like that, so am I,” the former co-host on ABC’s “The View” wrote for The Daily Mail.
“A large part of [the woke-fest] was due to the fact fan-fave character Samantha — played impeccably by Kim Cattrall — had failed to return,” McCain continued. “Samantha was outrageous, glamorous, hilarious. She put sizzling sex into the city. And with her departure came an inevitable slump into dullness. So how thrilled I was to hear the shock announcement this week that Samantha will soon be back on our screens.”

Things went hilariously off the rails on “The View” — and Sara Haines is to blame!
During Wednesday’s broadcast, Haines and her fellow co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin were taking on the hot topic of ABC’s recently announced “Golden Bachelor” show, which gives an older suitor a chance at finding love.
After Goldberg ushered in the conversation, resident “Bachelor” expert Griffin chimed in with her thoughts.
“I think this is a good idea,” Griffin began. “Here’s the problem, a lot of couples on ‘The Bachelor’ don’t stay together, it’s people in their young 20s, a lot of 23-year-old girls who, you got a lot of life ahead of you and a lot to figure out about yourself. I think having a 60+ bachelor and bachelorettes will actually be more likely to last in a relationship, because you know who you are and what you want.

While reflecting on Singer as a guest, Mellencamp asked co-host Tamra Judge if she noticed that Singer was being a little shady toward her. “By the way, did you notice that in our interview with Ramona, she would not acknowledge me as a human being?” Mellencamp wondered on her Two Ts in a Pod podcast.

Sunny Hostin is setting the record straight about who’s been passing gas at “The View”.
Appearing recently on “Watch What Happens Live”, the daytime host claimed that co-host Whoopi Goldberg farted the most on set among the hosts.

But this week on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy”, Hostin cleared some things up, admitting that Goldberg “didn’t like” being blamed for farting, because it wasn’t true.
“So Whoopi, in an effort to kind of cover that up, was like, ‘Sorry y’all. That was me,’ and I just took her at her word,” Hostin explained. “I didn’t know it was Sara [Haines] with all the waters. She should only have one cup of water anyway. We all have one cup, and Sara has three. It just turned into this big thing and so Whoopi said,...

Sunny Hostin is reacting to the fiery column former The View co-host Meghan McCain posted airing out her grievances from her time on the daytime talk show.
While promoting her new book Summer on the Bluffs: A Novel on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, a fan asked Hostin for her thoughts on McCain’s column.
“Oh, let me take a drink. Um, what can I say? I have not read the column. I have heard about it, and our show is a wonderful place,” Hostin said. “We’re the No. 1 talk show in the country, I’m happy to say. I’m surprised that she’s writing about the book.”
She continued, “I know her husband [Ben Domenech] likes to mean-tweet about me, which is shocking, but Meghan and I have always been friendly, we remain friends, and I don’t think she’s doing television anymore.”

Thomas Markle is once again begging for his daughter’s attention. Meghan Markle’s estranged father wants to fix their fractured relationship and is making a public statement with the hope of doing so.
The 78-year-old makes the “death bed” plea to his estranged daughter in the dramatic trailer, released on Friday, for an interview with Australia’s “7News Spotlight”, set to air this coming Sunday.
Meghan’s father, who suffered a stroke last year and is seemingly in poor health, is seen holding childhood photos of Meghan as he asks, “How can I fix this?”
The program claims that “treasured memories, secret tapes and home truths are all coming out,” and Thomas, Meghan’s half-siblings, Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr., can be seen sitting together watching some of those tapes.
“She would still be a waitress if it wasn’t for Dad,” Samantha says.

Meghan McCain is recalling her time on The View and says she feels validated after listening to Rosie O’Donnell saying she wouldn’t return to the talk show either.
“Rosie O’Donnell and I probably don’t agree on much. But here we’re in sync. There is nothing on God’s green earth that could convince me to ever walk on to that set again,” McCain wrote in her Daily Mail column.
McCain was responding to O’Donnell’s appearance on the Now What? with Brooke Shields podcast where the Now and Then star Whoopi Goldberg squashed certain topics from being discussed on the air, like the sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby.
Although McCain says she’s “always hesitant to rehash” her experience on the show that “ended in a complete disaster” she wrote in her column that she “was also pushed off topics that I thought were newsworthy by show producers.

Meghan McCain has spoken out about her “disastrous” time on The View in a searing column.
The former chat show host left the show in July 2021 after four seasons of presenting alongside co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin.
Months later, she disclosed in her book Bad Republican, the reason she left was due to an on-air tussle with Behar, which left her in tears.
McCain’s since been vocal about her “toxic” experience, but she’s decided to make further claims in a new column for The Daily Mail, published on Friday (21 April).
“I imagine being a former co-host of ABC News’ The View feels much like having a very public, very nasty breakup with an infamous ex-boyfriend,” she began.
“Everyone knows it ended in complete disaster. And absolutely everyone wants to talk about it.”
Continuing, she explained that while she’s “always hesitant to rehash it”, she...

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania has been open about using Ozempic to lose weight.
Catania told Andy Cohen on Tuesday’s “Watch What Happens Live” that she’s been using semaglutide — which is an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, as well as being used for weight loss — for about six weeks, ahead of the upcoming reunion show.
Catania insisted “not one” of her co-stars wasn’t also taking Ozempic, telling Cohen: “I wasn’t going to come to the reunion looking any bigger than anyone else, so I got on the bandwagon.”
She said of whether there were any side effects: “Just not hungry.”

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” fake news alert crew pushed the comedic envelope Thursday night yet again with a segment about the catastrophic Ohio train derailment, highlighting the fact everything going down in East Palestine might not be as it seems.
In the bit, a fake news segment kicks off by showing video of the controlled burn performed by officials after the derailment, a move that resulted in the massive plume of chemical smoke that has many local residents worried about whether their air is safe to breathe and water is Ok to drink.
An anchor who sounds a lot like CNN’s Don Lemon then poses the material question in an ad-libbed voiceover as video rolls of local officials working at the derailment site: “Is it safe to live in our very own homes? Is it safe for us to drink our water?”
