It’s been just over a week since Katy Perry went to space, and she might still be getting adjusted to Earth’s gravity — or, at least, that’s what it looked like in viral videos of the pop star’s 2025 tour kickoff on Wednesday night, showing quite a bit of unimpressive, low-effort choreography.

The concert was the first of a three-night residency at Arena Cdmx in Mexico City, and marked the beginning of Perry’s “Lifetimes Tour,” supporting the release of her lukewarm 2024 comeback album, 143. In fan-uploaded footage of the concert, it’s shown that the show is somewhat conceptual, presenting a loose plot based in a video game about Perry — a “half-human, half-machine” — taking on an “all-powerful AI called the Mainframe.”

“Honestly, I’ve done so many different things in my career, like we’ve landed on an aircraft carrier off the coast of Korea and played for the sailors on board,” he told Variety of why he did the show. “We’ve been to Djibouti, Africa and Bahrain, and we’ve played every state in the US, except for Alaska. If life be an adventure, this certainly falls in that category. I was like, of course, I’ll do that.

The Masked Singer is back!

The Quarterfinals of season 13 of the hit Fox singing competition series aired on Wednesday night (April 23).

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season includes the new costumed character Detective Lucky Duck, who will help panelists “uncover who’s behind each mask.”

During the episode, contestants Boogie Woogie, Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, Pearl, and Coral hit the stage for another performance.

On Wednesday, Netflix released the first trailer for Season 2 of Wednesday, the streaming service's blockbuster take on The Addams Family with Jenna Ortega in the title role. The Billboard 200 albums chart measures the top releases during the weekly tracking period every Friday through Thursday. While it used to be determined strictly by record sales, the ever-changing landscape of music consumption led Billboard to update its methodology for the 21st century.

In 2014, Billboard started considering multiple metrics of music success, including online streams and individual track sales, in addition to the traditional album sales that previously made up the entirety of the Billboard 200's chart determinations. An album sale currently counts as one album unit. Sales of 10 individual tracks also counts as one unit. But an artist needs 3,750 ad-supported streams or 1,250 paid subscription streams to equal one unit. Then in 2020 Billboard began counting music videos on platforms like YouTube.

The Last of Us actor made an appearance at the Cineworld Leicester Square in support of the Marvel film, sporting the viral “Protect the Dolls” t-shirt.

Pascal had previously worn the shirt during his 50th birthday celebration on April 6.

The “Protect the Dolls” t-shirt was designed by Conner Ives, who showed it at his runway show during London Fashion Week earlier this year. “Dolls” is how the Lgbtqia+ community refers to trans women.

In an interview with The New York Times, Ives explained what inspired them to make the t-shirt.

“It was very reactive. I knew I wanted to say something, given what we’ve observed in the last few months with the U.S. government and the current political regime,” Ives said.

Lady Gaga has added seven new dates to her Mayhem Ball tour!

On Tuesday (April 22), it was announced that the “Disease” singer will be adding three new concerts in San Francisco and four new concerts in Los Angeles to the tour. The North American Leg of the tour is set to kick off in July.

Lady Gaga first announced the Mayhem Ball tour in March, and it quickly sold out. However, you can still find ways to get resale tickets.

As for the new dates, general sale will begin on Tuesday the 29th at noon Pst at Live Nation.

But one thing is clear, she’s proud of her win. For Nurve, it’s been a season. She dominated with four Main Challenge Wins, she wowed with her Eddie Murphy impersonation during the Snatch Game challenge, and she triumphed over Jewels Sparkles in the finale lip sync to take home the crown.

Deadmau5 doesn’t remember performing at Coachella.

On Friday night (April 18), the 44-year-old DJ, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, performed under his Testpilot side project pseudonym alongside Zhu at the Quasar stage during the music festival.

In a video of the set shared on Instagram, both musicians appeared to drink from cups behind the DJ decks and Deadmau5 can be seen struggling to stand up. He admitted he was drunk, stopped the music at one point, and was apparently asked to leave the stage.

As the punk band headlined Weekend 2 of Coachella, they exchanged some playful barbs with Charli Xcx, who also performed at the 2025 music festival in Indio, California.

After the British artist partied during Weekend 1 in a t-shirt printed with a sash reading “Miss Should Be Headliner,” drummer Tré Cool posed in his own sash made from toilet paper, which read, “Actual Headliner.”

Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap made quite the impression with their Coachella debut, using their set to protest the Israel-Hamas War‘s devastating impact on Palestine.

The group has sparked backlash after their Weekend 2 performance on Friday at the Sonora stage, during which they projected “fuck Israel,” “free Palestine” and other messages of protest against US support of the Israel-Hamas war.

“Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is being enabled by the US government who arm and fund Israel despite their war crimes,” the text read in photos shared on X by the group. “Fuck Israel. Free Palestine.”

After Coachella’s YouTube Live stream of their set was reportedly cut when they started an anti-Margaret Thatcher chant, the band wrote on X, “Not the only thing that was cut – our messaging on the US-backed genocide in Gaza somehow never appeared on screens either.
