- Shuo Z. Chen's favorite classes in high school were English and Orchestra.
- Shuo once sustained an ankle sprain from jumping 5-6 feet onto a wood gymnasium floor compounded from several months of aikido and running.
- Shuo took eight years of violin and can be heard squeaking out a small tune in the end credits of #AwkwardDates.
- Miles Ahead was the first film Shuo did after taking a rest from acting for a few years.
- Between the filming of Joy, Shuo's car got totaled and he is only seen in a few scenes. Car troubles also prevented Shuo from making the big bonfire scene for Finale.
- During filming of The Public the temperatures got so cold Shuo had to triple/quadruple layer his clothing just to keep warm outside. He helped keep his fellow actors warm on set by passing out hand-warmers.
- One of Shuo's favorite black suits he wears, a Calvin Klein Black Extreme Slim Fit Suit, can be seen in both The Killing of a Sacred Deer and also UFO. The pants are seen in Dodging the Bullet.
- Shuo met the assistant production manager of Clever Girl while doing a casino commercial and appears in an episode.
- Shuo sustained multiple bruises and cuts, including a facial sunburn during the filming of Dodging the Bullet to make his scenes more realistic. These don't show on the final cuts.
- Shuo still owns the red coat used in Finale.
- Shuo helped partly invest in the Immortally Yours film and received a copy of the script from the director. He had a separate job interview right before he was to meet up with the directors to talk about the film. The interview ran over time when he and the director were scheduled to meet. Shuo got the call while still finishing up the job interview. Incidentally he never heard back from the interviewer.
- During the filming of High School Stories: Scandals, Pranks, and Controversies Shuo's short sleeve shirt got drenched in white and blue paint. He also helped jump start another one of the actor/extra's car when their car battery died because various car headlights were being used like floodlights to light the night scene. The filming was done in Hilliard, OH. He was originally scheduled to be there for a one night shoot. Instead he managed an overnight stay at a Red Roof Inn for a second night of filming before driving back to his hometown to work his 6am shift the next day at his local bulk mail center. The only downtime was stopping at a local White Castle's for breakfast. It was an "all-nighter".
- While filming The Public, Shuo and several actors had to endure frigid temperatures. The film shoots went all the way into the morning and there were a few days many of the actors and crew had less than three hours of sleep in order to work the grueling night shoots and go into their day jobs.
