Award winning filmmaker Felix Martiz was born in East Los Angeles to immigrant parents. The first child of an Ecuadorian father and a Mexican mother, his cultural palette is vast. He attended the film program at Cal State University of Long Beach, and the lack of diversity in student films inspired him to embrace who he was and where he came from. Seeking representation in film, he felt an urgency to make films that his family and Spanish speaking audiences could see and feel included in. He began to write and direct films that showcased underrepresented and diverse characters. His Thesis Film, "La Paz" was screened nation wide on PBS and won the Cal Arts Rosebud Award for best Student Short Film.

After graduating, he made his directorial debut with the feature film "Santiago." The film screened to sold-out audiences in many festivals around the country and internationally. His next short film 'Amor Imposible' premiered at LA ShortsFest and can currently be seen as part of the PBS Shorts Showcase. In 2015 he directed two short films, '400 Miles' and 'El Altar de Soledad', which won multiple 'Best Actress Awards' at various festivals. As well as being an accomplished director, Felix has also worked as a script consultant and editor for various micro-budget productions. In 2016, he received his Masters in Film Production from Mount St Mary's University, Los Angeles. He wrote, produced and directed two thesis films "Mia" and "Kiko." Both "Mia" and "Kiko" hit the festival circuit and garnished awards, including Best Short Film. Felix continues to write and direct films that explore the latinx perspective. He is in development with two new series that he created and in post-production with a new short film that addresses the current immigration crisis, titled "Gone."
