Yolie Cortez is a second generation Mexican-American TV writer born and raised in Southern California. She's a writer on Disney Channel/Disney+ series, "Hailey's On It!" starring Auli'i Cravalho, and Disney Junior's NAACP Award nominated shorts series, "Rise Up, Sing Out" done in collaboration with The Roots. She has also previously done work in the comedy live-action space, having written the Season 2 premiere episode of Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns." Her work has been awarded and showcased at the Writers Guild of America, West, and she is a proud alum of the National Hispanic Media Coalition Television Writers' program, sponsored by ABC/Disney and NBC/Universal.
Prior to joining Disney Channel as a writer, Yolie was a key creative development executive for Disney Junior, and played an integral role in developing Disney Junior's hit series, "Alice's Wonderland Bakery" and "Firebuds."
