Gianpiero Alicchio is an Italian actor and director from Puglia, Italy. He arrived in Rome with a dream to imprint his visions on the cinematic screen.
He began his training at the Bari Academy for three years, then was quickly accepted at the European
Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, under the artistic direction of Alessandro Preziosi, where he
received a B.A. in Performing Arts. Furthermore, Gianpiero received a Bachelor's Degree at DAMS
and Communication where he graduated with a Thesis in Performing Capture.
He studied and have worked as actor, director and producer with some of the best talents in the
entertainment industry, Italian and International, including John Strasberg (Lee Strasberg's son),
Vincent Riotta, Luc Besson's Company, Bernard Hiller and Flavio De Bernardiniis whose lessons
helped him approach film directing while shaping his formation.
With a deep respect and admiration for Robert Zemeckis' style of movie making, he directed his first
short film 'L'appuntamento' (The Date). The film won 'Best Short' at the Italian Golden Globes and
was awarded by some of the most prestigious festivals including American Movie Awards, Beverly
Hills Film Festival, Los Angeles Movie Awards, International ShorTS Film Festival and many
others around the world that endowed the short film with several 'Honorable Mention' awards.
Additionally, Gianpiero was also awarded 'Best Actor' at the American Movie Awards 2014.
Most recently, 'L'appuntamento' (The Date) was screened at the DC Shorts Festival in Washington
DC.
