Last week, the trailer for director Eli Roth’s long-awaited video game adaptation Borderlands, which is set to reach theatres on August 9th, made its way online – and while talking to Entertainment Weekly about the trailer, Roth revealed that he’s currently writing a horror script with 16-year-old Borderlands cast member Ariana Greenblatt, who plays Tiny Tina in the upcoming movie!
Roth told Entertainment Weekly that Greenblatt “loves horror, and we have a great idea, so we’re writing a movie together. That is an exclusive, nobody knows that. I don’t want to say anything about it yet, but she’s so smart I’m like, ‘Let’s write a movie together, and we’ll produce it together, and I’ll direct it, and you’ll star in it.’” Of course, Roth didn’t give away any details about the story he and Greenblatt are collaborating on. Filming wrapped on director Eli Roth‘s adaptation of the Borderlands video game series from Gearbox and 2K way back in June of 2021. A year and a half later, Deadpool director Tim Miller had to step in to handle the project’s two weeks of reshoots because Roth had the chance to finally – after sixteen years – make a feature based on the Thanksgiving faux trailer he put together for the Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez collaboration Grindhouse. The Borderlands reshoots have been completed, Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Lionsgate is now gearing up to finally release Borderlands into the world on August 9th. With just over five months to go until that date arrives, Lionsgate has unveiled a trailer for the film, and you can check that out in the embed above.

Lucasfilm has announced that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting on December 1st, 2023. On the same day, they’ll also debut Timeless Heroes, a feature-length documentary about how everyone’s favorite bullwhip-wielding archaeologist in cinema came to be.
The fifth and final installment in the franchise, Dial of Destiny stars Harrison Ford — who did his own stunts, mind you — as the titular hero, and featured a surprise cameo from fan-favorite Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood. It also boasts notable newcomers Phoebe Waller-Bridge as his goddaughter Helena Shaw and Mads Mikkelsen as a former Nazi scientist. The cast is rounded out by Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore.
Directed by veteran documentary maker Laurent Bouzereau, Timeless Heroes focuses largely on Ford’s undeniable charm, and how his upbringing and early career led him to become the perfect Indy.

Snakes, why’d it have to be snakes? Although Indiana Jones is famously petrified of the reptiles, a new species of snake has been named after Harrison Ford. According to a report published in the scientific journal Salamandra, the newly discovered species of slender snake was found in Peru’s Andes Mountains last spring. The species has been dubbed Tachymenoides harrisonfordi.
“These scientists keep naming critters after me, but it’s always the ones that terrify children,” Harrison Ford said in a statement provided to Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t understand. I spend my free time cross-stitching. I sing lullabies to my basil plants, so they won’t fear the night.“
Harrison Ford continued, “In all seriousness, this discovery is humbling. It’s a reminder that there’s still so much to learn about our wild world — and that humans are one small part of an impossibly vast biosphere. On this planet,...

Filming wrapped on director Eli Roth‘s adaptation of the Borderlands video game series from Gearbox and 2K in June of last year. Seven months later, Deadpool director Tim Miller had to step in to handle the project’s two weeks of reshoots because Roth had the chance to finally – after seventeen years – make a feature based on the Thanksgiving faux trailer he put together for the Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez collaboration Grindhouse. Roth’s Thanksgiving slasher is scheduled to reach theatres on November 17, 2023, the Friday before the Thanksgiving holiday. Now Deadline has broken the news that Borderlands will reach theatres about eight months later, on August 2, 2024. So we still have a year to wait before we’ll be able to watch this one.
We had heard that The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin wrote the screenplay for Borderlands, but according to Deadline the final script was actually written by Roth and Joe Crombie.

Indiana Jones 5, aka Dial of Destiny, sees the return of Indy’s longtime friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies), but that’s not the only reunion in the upcoming film: Karen Allen will also make a cameo in the movie as his wife Marion Ravenwood.
Though Allen has not been featured in the trailers for the movie, Ravenwood’s rekindled relationship with the swashbuckling hero in 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has not been forgotten. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Allen expressed a “sense of gratitude” for playing the character for a third time, though she wishes her role was more of “part of the adventure” in the movie.
“She’s such a vibrant, wonderful character, and it would’ve broken my heart to see her just vanish into the ether,” Allen said.

While Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny marks Harrison Ford’s final performance as Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr., the franchise may continue with another character leading future expeditions into the unknown. I’m talking about Indy’s goddaughter, Helena Shaw. Phoebe Waller-Bridge brings the character to life in the James Mangold-directed sequel. From what I’ve heard, Helena is a highlight of the new film, and the franchise’s future could rest in her capable hands. In a recent interview with Variety, producer Kathleen Kennedy says it’s “entirely possible” for Waller-Bridge to continue the brand.
Speaking with Variety about the new film, its mixed reception, and the franchise’s future, Mangold becomes visibly excited when the outlet broaches the topic of Helena Shaw. Mangold says he and the Butterworths (Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth) wrote the character specifically for Waller-Bridge, including elements of what made...

The maestro John Williams conducted a surprise orchestral performance of the Indiana Jones theme song at the Hollywood premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on Wednesday night.
Steven Spielberg was on hand to introduce the film. After recognizing Indiana Jones creator George Lucas and star Harrison Ford, he moved on to “the person who is the glue to all five of these films, who gave us all of our rhythm and all of our melody.” The curtain then rose to reveal the 91-year-old Williams and a full orchestra.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30th. Along with a de-aged Harrison Ford, the film stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore. James Mangold helmed the film, becoming the first person other than Spielberg to direct an installment of the franchise.

Indiana Jones may be in his twilight years, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t solve a few more ancient puzzles. Disney has released a new clip for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in which the famed hero uses the power of water displacement to find his way out of a pickle.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival last month, but the early reception was mixed. Some had a lot of fun with the movie and had plenty of praise for Harrison Ford, but others felt it was bogged down in nostalgia. Either way, I can’t wait to watch the film for myself and go on one final adventure with my favourite hero.

Harrison Ford’s final performance as Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny could be looking at an underwhelming box office when the film opens exclusively in theaters on June 30. Analysts predict a $60 million to $70 million take for the fifth and final Indiana Jones film over a five-day holiday opening. While $60M would be a reason to celebrate for most movies, the Indiana Jones franchise carries a legacy that could warrant more of a return for Ford’s farewell performance as the intrepid archaeologist.
Dial of Destiny‘s 3-day opening is down from the $100.1M opening for 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, often hailed as the worst film in the franchise. Crystal Skull opened during Memorial Day weekend, securing $151.9M across five days. One could point to the mediocre reviews from Dial of Destiny‘s Cannes premiere as a reason for the...

It’s impressive enough that Harrison Ford decided to take on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in any capacity, but the octogenarian isn’t letting his age get in the way of an authentic performance. In fact, the 80-year-old actor is embracing it, going so far as to tell the film’s stunt team to “leave [him] the fuck alone,” as he recalled in a new interview with Esquire.
The scene in question involves Indy traversing the streets of 1969 New York City on horseback, through a crowded parade celebrating the moon landing. When the cameras cut, Ford felt a few pairs of hands spotting him from behind as he was about to get off the horse.
“I thought, ‘What the fuck?’ Like I was being attacked by gropers. I look down and there’s three stunt guys there making sure I didn’t fall off the stirrup,” Ford said.

All films in the Indiana Jones franchise are coming to Disney+ later this month as part of a shared rights deal between Disney and Paramount.
Though Disney acquired the future franchise rights to Indiana Jones in 2013, the first four films — Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — remained under the control of Paramount and, as a result, have not been available to stream on Disney+.
The 2013 deal also stipulated that Paramount would receive “financial participation on any future films that are produced and released” under Disney.

It’s hard to imagine anyone other than Steven Spielberg directing an Indiana Jones movie, but the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny helmed by James Mangold has gotten the stamp of approval from the man himself.
While speaking at the Time 100 Summit (via Variety), Steven Spielberg revealed that he’s already watched Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and loved it. “I just had that experience two nights ago,” Spielberg said. “Bob Iger had a screening for a lot of the Disney executives, and I came to the screening along with the director James Mangold. Everybody loved the movie. It’s really, really a good ‘Indiana Jones’ film. I’m really proud of what Jim has done with it.” Spielberg added, “When the lights came up I just turned to the group and said, ‘Damn! I thought I was the only one who knew how to make one of these.

For most of his existence as a cinematic icon, Steven Spielberg was the only one who ever directed an "Indiana Jones" movie, dating back to the all-time blockbuster classic "Raiders of the Lost Ark." And, as far as the movies go, it's mostly only been Harrison Ford who has played him. But the first part of that equation is set to change with this summer's "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," as James Mangold is directing this time around. Luckily, he's received Spielberg's seal of approval.
Speaking as part of the Time100 Summit recently, the master filmmaker addressed the upcoming fifth entry in the long-running franchise. Spielberg was asked about watching an "Indiana Jones" film that he didn't direct, and he offered some kind words for Mangold's film, saying the following:

In it, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones was caught in a high speed chase in the Middle East alongside his fast-talking goddaughter played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, all while on pursuit of an ex-Nazi played by Mads Mikkelsen. The scene recalls “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and also “Temple of Doom” and that character’s Short Round as the two of them are joined by a new young companion. The chase is a rousing and amusing sequence that makes good use of practical effects, with Waller-Bridge tearing off her sleeves, dangling from the back of a moving car, and bashing the car’s roof with a crow bar.
Ford’s smarminess is on display too. “I didn’t come here...

After playing Wolverine for nearly twenty years, Hugh Jackman hung up the claws with Logan. The James Mangold movie was a thrilling and touching conclusion for the character… until Ryan Reynolds successfully convinced Hugh Jackman to play Wolverine once again for the upcoming Deadpool 3.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, James Mangold revealed that he’s anything but upset that Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine in Deadpool 3. “I’m thrilled for him to get a chance to play with it again,” Mangold said. “Whether one way or another, I knew Logan wouldn’t be the last time we see a Wolverine movie. We had our moment to kind of let that movie play and I’m really moved by how much that picture lives in people’s memories.” Mangold added, “You can’t put a moratorium on characters.“

Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones is on the verge of retirement in the official trailer for Indiana Jones 5 (officially titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), but the swashbuckling archaeologist gets drawn back in when his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) stops by with the ultimate tease: the one artifact that got away. Check out the clip, first revealed during London’s Star Wars Celebration, below.
When Indy hears she has a lead on the “dial that could change the course of history,” he’s forced to change course because he’s been looking for the mystical object “all my life.” As it turns out, Jones first came across it on a train with Nazi member Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) during World War II. Despite the fact that it made her own father go crazy, Helena will stop at nothing to chase it down — which includes double-crossing Indy himself.
