- Judy McMillan, also known as Dame Judy in south-central Texas, where she's based, is an American film, video, television, commercial, and voice over actress of a certain age. Sometimes referred to as "sweet with a twist," she plays those spunky, sassy, singular, sweet, strong...sometimes scary...characters with secrets. She's a character actress with a knack for dialects and her roles range from comedy to horror to historic drama.
Born and raised on Long Island as Judy Lynn Kamen, she spent three and a half years as a Theatre Arts Performance major at Hofstra University. She performed with the Hofstra Repertory Theatre, worked with greats like Joe Morton, Peter Friedman, and Zane Buzby on the Main Stage, and studied with the brilliant Miriam Tulin, who directed her in a production of Rashomon, that was performed at The Mall Theatre In Washington DC for the first American College Theatre Festival. She left Hofstra in the middle of her senior year so she could move to Fort Collins with her young husband and completed her undergraduate studies in Speech and Theatre Arts Education at Colorado State. She later earned an MA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Educational Psychology and spent 21 years as a teacher and counselor working with, teaching, and/or directing special needs students and aspiring performers, all the while continuing to audition and perform (after work, on weekends, on holidays, and maybe taking a sick day or three) as a singer-songwriter, in theatrical productions, and doing commercial and print work. She retired from educational pursuits to pursue full time work as an actress in 2006.
When it comes to The Biz, Judy is a "lifer" who is still going strong. Rarely far from an airport, Judy is always ready for that next acting adventure wherever it may be! When she's not working she can be found training, auditioning, rehearsing, dancing, writing, working out, or just spending time with family and enjoying being "grandma".- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
