(2016) Saurabh Shukla was in the process of fine tuning the script of the psychological thriller that he is writing and directing for Nikhil Advani's production house. The cast of the film includes Nimrat Kaur, Rajkummar Rao and the makers are on the lookout for one more actor. The project was shelved.

(2013) Signed UTV Spotboy film Pizza but later was dropped from the film.

(2014) Starred in Disney UTV's shelved film "Revolution 2020". Starring Arjun Kapoor (Replaced Rajkummar Rao, Myra, Produced by Siddharth Kapur, Directed by Rajkumar Gupta. The film was based on Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name.

(2018) Imtiaz Ali had planned a love triangle with Shahid Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. Shahid walked out of the film and Rao stepped into his role. The film was eventually shelved.

(2015) Rajkummar Rao had shot for the film Ami Saira Banu. He played the role of a transgender. The project was directed by Rahul Mukherjee. The film was shot but shelved midway.

(2010) Abhishek Banerjee screen tested Rajkumar Rao for Knock Out. Eventually Aditya Lakhia signed the role.
