A set photo from The Odyssey reveals Jon Bernthal's very different look in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming project. The movie, an adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic, depicts Odysseus (Matt Damon) after the Trojan War and explores his momentous voyage to return home. Along with Damon and Bernthal, whose role is unknown, the ensemble cast includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and more. With production on The Odyssey commenced, various photos of sets and on-screen talent have emerged.

In the photo, he is standing next to Holland, shaking hands with unidentified people, and has a noticeably shaved head and full beard. Earlier this week, we learned that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has joined the cast of Spider-Man 4. Given her red hair, it didn't take long for fans (and scoopers) to speculate that she might be playing everyone from Jean Grey to Firestar and Mary Jane Watson.

However, a new report from Jeff Sneider claims Sink will play the latter, meaning the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon have the "real" Mj. That seems problematic on several levels, not least because it diminishes the work done by Zendaya as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home's Michelle Jones Watson.

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is now filming in Greece, and the Oppenheimer director has assembled one of the most impressive casts we've seen in quite a while for his upcoming adaptation of Homer's epic poem.

We know that Matt Damon will take on the lead role of Odysseus, but the characters the rest of the starry cast are playing have been kept under wraps... until now.

Though some key cast members are not listed (Jon Bernthal, for example), Greek media site OneMan.com is claiming to have shed some light on which mythological heroes and villains a good chunk of the other actors will portray.

The Dark Knight trilogy actor Gary Oldman recalls the note Christopher Nolan gave him that is one of the best he's received in his career. Coming off of successes like Memento (2000) and Insomnia (2002), Nolan entered the world of comic book adaptations with Batman Begins in 2005. Christian Bale played the role of Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, throughout Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, with Oldman playing a prominent role as ally Jim Gordon, who eventually becomes Police Commissioner in The Dark Knight (2008).

During a recent interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Oldman recalls that filming one scene for The Dark Knight trilogy resulted in Nolan giving him one of the best notes he has ever received from a director. We got our first piece of major casting news for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' untitled Spider-Man movie yesterday, with Stranger Things alum Sadie Sink set to join Tom Holland for his fourth solo outing as the wall-crawling hero.

Deadline's report mentioned that the "prevailing theory" is that she will play Jean Grey, but the site added that she could appear as "another beloved redheaded Spider-Man character."

Jeff Sneider, who first reported on the rumor that Sink could be in line to play Jean in the upcoming X-Men reboot, has now shared some updates, and it sounds like the powerful mutant might be off the table.

In his newsletter, Sneider points out that Sony’s arrangement with Marvel requires the latter to provide each Spider-Man movie with a major MCU character.
