Joseph Quinn isn't concerned about superhero fatigue affecting 'The Fantastic Four'.The 30-year-old actor is set to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie as Johnny Storm/Human Touch and has brushed off any fears that viewer exasperation with the genre could impact the flick's performance when it hits cinemas next year.In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joseph said: "I think that with the story of the Fantastic Four, it feels like we want to get this right."There are aspects of it that are very different to other Marvel films. That felt very compelling to me. And again, going back to who's involved, Matt (Shakman), of course, the director, I think is brilliant, and the cast, and I've read it and the script is brilliant. Stranger Things Joseph Quinn star has voiced his thoughts about Matt Shakman’s soon-to-shoot Fantastic Four, which will bring Marvel’s First Family into the MCU.
Given that things have taken a dip for Marvel Studios in the last couple of years, there’s a fair amount of pressure on the soon-to-shoot Fantastic Four. Along with the oft-mentioned ‘superhero fatigue’ argument, another reason often put forth for the declining interest in Marvel’s output has been that the studio has increasingly focused on less celebrated characters.
That’s all set to change though, and you’d have to be pretty brave to bet against Marvel coming up short when it debuts The X-Men and The Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both superhero ensembles rank among Marvel’s most popular characters and as such, there’s a general feeling that if any project can begin to right the Good Ship Marvel,...

During a history-celebrating festival in the United Kingdom, Scottish actor Brian Cox lost his temper and attacked actors, theater critics, and politicians. Napoleon (2023), helmed by Ridley Scott, was the first flick he targeted. The yearly gathering discusses historical events with academics, educators, and prominent people.
Cox first took issue with Joaquin Phoenix’s depiction of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in Scott’s $221 million historical epic. The actor, who played Logan Roy on Succession for four seasons between 2018 and 2023, spoke candidly about his thoughts on Phoenix’s performance at HistFest, calling it “terrible”. Reacting quickly to Cox’s remarks, fans questioned why a great actor would ‘hate’ another great actor.

Joseph Quinn is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the upcoming tentpole “The Fantastic Four,” starring opposite Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing) and Julia Garner (the Silver Surfer named Shalla-Bal). It’s a pivotal time for the MCU as debates over “superhero fatigue” rage on following the onslaught of 2023 comic book movie flops, which included Marvel’s own “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “The Marvels.”
Is Quinn worried about Marvel superhero fatigue as he gears up to shoot “The Fantastic Four” and enter the MCU? He shrugged off any concerns in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Although a majority of the critics seemingly deemed it unworthy, the original Fantastic Four film series is still regarded as one of the best adaptations ever created. This is because even though a lot of people had issues with the plotlines, pretty much no one had any issues with the cast which included Chris Evans’ widely acclaimed fan-favorite embodiment of the Human Torch as well.
The original Fantastic Four cast from the early 2000s.
In fact, Evans’ performance as Johnny Storm so deeply influenced the viewers that even someone like Joseph Quinn, who would be continuing the character’s legacy in the upcoming reboot, couldn’t help but praise him. But while he holds him in wide regard, Quinn has also made it clear that his portrayal of Johnny wouldn’t be the same, but rather, something he creates on his own.

The Fantastic Four are called Marvel’s First Family because, well, they actually are. Back in 1961, the company formerly known as Timely Comics transitioned into Marvel Comics. They kept some of their titles, such as Journey Into Mystery, but began a new approach to superhero comics with The Fantastic Four. These new titles would show the internal drama between the characters and not just their superheroics. After these characters became a big hit, the company created other heroes such as The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, and Iron Man.
Fox would end up with the movie rights to bring these characters to the big screen but ultimately would produce content that really didn’t live up to what the comics promised. After four attempts (ironic), the rights have finally reverted back to Marvel Studios through Disney’s purchase of Twentieth Century Studios. Now that the MCU is around, fans are interested in...

In a very unsettled drama Emmy field, one of the few ostensible locks this year is Elizabeth Debicki. Julia Garner, the three-time Emmy-winning co-star of “Ozark,” looks to be joining Marvel’s next big bet, the relaunch of the First Family of Comics, “Fantastic Four.” As per Deadline, she’ll be appearing as the grooviest of villains, the Silver Surfer. But before you can reach for your podcast mic and shout about how producers are ruining movies by making them all woke, please note that a female version of the Silver Surfer, known as Shalla-Bal, does exist in various splinters of the comics’ multiverse. So there.

‘Fantastic Four’ is generating a lot of buzz as the next big movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recently, the release date and cast were revealed, confirming some long-standing rumors. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby will portray Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be The Thing, and Joseph Quinn will take on the role of the Human Torch.
Although the main cast was announced earlier, there was still speculation about the supporting characters. According to Deadline, Julia Garner has been cast as Shalla-Bal, a female version of Silver Surfer. This casting choice adds weight to the idea that the movie might take place in an alternate universe, as discussed recently.
If you’re puzzled by us describing Shalla-Bal as a female version of Silver Surfer, you’re partly right. In the comics, she wasn’t Galactus’ Herald but rather the primary love interest of Norrin Radd.

Ozark actor Julia Garner has reportedly signed a deal to play Silver Surfer in Matt Shakman’s take on Marvel’s Fantastic Four.
For a long time, there were lots of questions about which four actors would be lined up to fill the iconic blue onesies worn by the Fantastic Four, Marvel’s family of superheroes due to make their MCU debut next summer. Matt Shakman, the mind behind Marvel Studios’ WandaVision is directing the project, which might just relaunch the MCU as ‘must watch’ moviegoing following two or three years where over-saturation and questionable levels of quality control have seen the films and TV shows dip in popularity.
Back in February that casting would be confirmed and much like the studio’s choice of director, there was a feeling of real promise regarding the actors that had been selected to embody one of Marvel’s most iconic set of characters.
