- Marie is the second African American woman to hold the position as a commissioner in the City of Glendale's Commission on the Status of Women. Glendale's population has less than 2% African American.
- Marie's public relations career began as a boxing publicist for a boxing team based in San Diego. The Mongoose Boxing Team was chaired by undefeated light heavyweight champion Archie "Ole Mongoose" Moore who passed in 1998. Moore holds the record for the most career knockouts (131). He ranks #4 on The Ring's list of "100 greatest punchers of all time," and has the longest reign in Light Heavyweight history. He is rated by prominent boxing website BoxRec as the greatest pound-for-pound boxer of all-time.

- Marie is the founder and CEO of Platinum Star Media Group, a Colorado corporation, a talent management company.
- Marie is related to Wilbert J. LeMelle, Sr. (1931-2003) who served as an Ambassador of The United States to the Republic of Kenya and to the Republic of Seychelles from 1977 to 1980. Wilbert was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, United States. Marie's has an uncle, aunt and cousins who still live in New Iberia.
- Marie is a book author. She co-authored a children's book, titled "The Adventurers of the Hairy Boogers," will be an audio book voiced by Disney's Liana Mendoza.
- Marie is a playwright. Her stage play, Harambee, Harambee (All Pull Together) is commissioned and produced by The Robey Theatre Company in downtown Los Angeles.
