Jessica Nicole Higgins is a Los Angeles based filmmaker, writer, and actress. Born in Saginaw, Michigan and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Higgins was always involved in the arts from a very young age. She started dancing at the age of four, which sparked her deep love for the stage. She danced, competed and choreographed in middle school and high school. She began studying acting while attending A.M. Barbe High School, where she was a part of the speech team. With the team, she competed in acting categories around the state of Louisiana. The summer before her senior year of high school, Higgins wrote and acted in a monologue at a national acting competition in Florida, and won in her category, beating out hundreds of other performers in her age group. This ignited the journey she is on now.
Higgins attended Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and acted in several plays with the professional theatre company, Swine Palace. She also worked in production on several movies while in college and graduated from LSU with a B.A. degree in Theatre Performance. She resides in Los Angeles, where she continues to work professionally in the entertainment industry.
Higgins has worked on more than five hundred episodes of television, including Netflix's Dead to Me, FOX's new show Pivoting, and the Emmy winning show The Voice. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and the author of the book, The Magic That is Life.
