Last week in Episode 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17, Lucky Starzzz and Joella dueled in the Lip Sync for Your Life after going bankrupt in a Monopoly-inspired design challenge. Joella earned a “get out of a jail free” card by winning the battle while Lucky fell short and became the official “pork chop” of the season. This week, the queens got behind the mic to record and produce musical adverts referencing iconic series moments. RuPaul’s DragCon LA 2024 has officially begun! Earlier today, the cowboy hat-wearing RuPaul Charles opened the festivities at the Los Angeles Convention Center with the ceremonial cutting of the pink ribbon. “Fabulous! Have a good time. I love you,” the Queen of Drag told his adoring crowd while still holding the enormous pink scissors. RuPaul’s co-producer and co-judge Michelle Visage stood beside him, and they were flanked by dozens of drag queens from the American version of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” plus many other worldwide installments. Attendees of RuPaul’s DragCon LA will be able to experience signings, meet and greets, photo opps, mainstage performances, a DJ set with RuPaul Charles (Friday only), 300 unique vendors for shopping and merchandise, and more. Judges Michelle Visage and Ts Madison will also appear, as well as “pit crew” model Bruno Alcantara and celebs like Daniel Franzese and Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho.

NBC's live musical featured newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy, and despite rave reviews for performance, there was one key component missing from most of the production: Toto! Animated feature Animal Crackers has added some heavyweights to its voice cast. Sir Ian McKellen, Danny DeVito, and Sylvester Stallone will lend their voices to the Blue Dream Studios film about a family whose life is turned upside down when they inherit a rundown circus and a mysterious box of Animal Crackers that turn the person who eats them into the animal they’ve just snacked on. The Thelma & Louise, West Wing and Arrow actors will star in director Cindy Chupack's feature film debut, Radiant Films International has announced.

The film will centre around three mothers who have been friends since their sons were little.

Feeling distanced from their negligent, now-28-year-old children, they pay them a surprise visit in New York in order to renew old bonds.

Elijah Kelly (Lee Daniels' The Butler) is also in talks for the project.

Mark Andrus's script was based on the novel of the same name by William Sutcliffe, and is being rewritten by Chupack.

Chupack's credits include Sex and the City and Modern Family.

Whatever Makes You Happy will begin shooting in New York City in June 2015.

Last month we got to see the first photo from The Butler showcasing Forest Whitaker silhouetted in his butler attire. Today, thanks to Oprah’s Twitter, we get to see more characters in costume. This time it’s the Reagans, who are being played by Alan Rickman and Jane Fonda.

The first photo Oprah posted featured her and Lenny Kravitz in their aged makeup, preparing for a ’80s white house scene. Then a few minutes later she posted an even more exciting photo, showing her with director Lee Daniels, Rickman, and Fonda.

Fonda looks very much like Nancy, but I’m most impressed by Rickman. I’ve been excited to see him in this role since he was announced, and getting to see him in costume, looking almost like a photo of the 40th president, would be enough to make me mark this down as a definite must-see.

Straight from the New Orleans shoot of The Butler, Showblitz provides us with our first glimpse at Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen, the White House servant who worked for eight First Families.

Granted, we don’t get to see much of Whitaker, considering it’s only a profile shot and he’s almost completely silhouetted, but it’s still a great photo and it’s exciting to finally get a look at this film.

Director Lee Daniels has put together one hell of an ensemble cast for this one. The presidents alone are amazing: John Cusack as Nixon, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, James Marsden as JFK, and Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower. I’d be excited to see every one of those actors portray those presidents in individual films. Getting to see them all together in one movie will just be overwhelmingly awesome.

Liev Schreiber is the newest addition to The Butler, as Deadline reports that the actor will portray Lyndon B. Johnson in the upcoming historical drama. The Lee Daniels film will tell the true story of White House attendant Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), whose career spanned eight presidents, from 1952 to 1986.

The ensemble cast that Daniels has put together for this film is staggering and wildly impressive. We have Alan Rickman as Reagan, John Cusack as Nixon, Robin Williams as Eisenhower and James Marsden as JFK, but that’s just the Presidents.

The rest of the cast includes Melissa Leo (Mamie Eisenhower), Minka Kelly (Jackie Kennedy), Mariah Carey, David Oyelowo, Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer, Yaya DaCosta, Elijah Kelly and Jesse Williams. Impressed yet?

Given how many years his latest project – true-life White House tale The Butler – covers, it’s perhaps not surprising that Precious director Lee Daniels has recruited a massive cast to play the many parts in the film. Liev Schreiber will play President Lyndon B Johnson in The Butler, the Lee Daniels-directed film about the life of Eugene Allen, a White House servant who worked for eight First Families. The film also stars Robin Williams (as President Dwight D. Eisenhower), Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo, as well as John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan and recently added cast members Melissa Leo (Mamie Eisenhower), James Marsden (JFK), Minka Kelly (Jackie Kennedy), Mariah Carey, Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer, Yaya DaCosta, Elijah Kelly and Jesse Williams. Danny Strong wrote the script with Daniels, based on Wil Haygood’s Washington Post article about Allen. Daniels will produce with Hilary Shor, Cassian Elwes and Pam Williams of Laura Ziskin Prods. The music is being composed by Quincy Jones. Schreiber is repped by Untitled and CAA.

Bet is staying in 'The Game.' After rescuing the show from cancellation on The CW, the series has brought in record ratings for the network.

According to Deadline, the series' fourth season debut was seen by 7.7 million viewers, a staggering number compared to the less than 2 million viewers the show was bringing in while on The CW. Season 4 ended with an audience of around 4.4 million viewers.

Bet is also expected to renew 'Let's Stay Together' and announce a series pickup for 'Reed Between the Lines.' Former 'Girlfriends' actress Tracee Ellis Ross stars in 'Reed' as a busy psychiatrist. Malcolm-Jamal Warner also stars.

In other TV news ...

o. Logo has renewed 'RuPaul's Drag Race.' The companion series 'Untucked: RuPaul's Drag Race' and 'The A-List: New York' have also been renewed. The network has ordered two new shows, 'The A-List: Dallas' and 'Sex Rx.

Last night Logo (AfterElton.com's parent company) celebrated its big, fun, fancy, silly NewNowNext Awards at The Avalon in Hollywood (watch this Monday on Logo at 10pm Et), and in addition to serving up some sassy awards to some pretty fabulous folks, the event was a great big party. James Van Der Beek hosted (and yes, there were some great self-referential Dawson’s Creek jokey moments and a quip about “Are these the 2001 NewNowNext Awards?”) and he was pretty freakin’ great at it. Sorry, Franco… There’s a new (now/next) go-to awards show host in town, and he brings a wide range of emotions to the table.

At the end of last week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Ru announced that she was giving the judges a chance to bring back queens that they felt had been axed too soon, so I ran a poll in my post about the episode, asking: “Which queen should return to RuPaul’s Drag Race next week?”

When I last checked the results, Shangela (33 percent), Delta Work (26 percent), and Mariah (12 percent) were leading the way. And somehow, Carmen wasn’t a option in the poll (sorry, maybe that was a subliminal mistake that adds up to who I didn’t want to see back?...

It was a celebrity free-for-all on Monday's (Feb. 21) "RuPaul's Drag Race" when the queens had to assume the position of some of our favorite stars.

Before we get to that, RuPaul played a game of "$#*! RuPaul Says." The winning queen would get a phone call. The game could only be explained as "Wheel of Fortune" on crack. In the end, Delta turned it out for a win. But how could she fully enjoy the prize with Shangela pouting in the corner, her fro, with a life of its own, all frayed and looking crazy. So, Delta gave the phone call to Shangela and all was well in RuVille for a hot second.

Next, Ru presented the main challenge. The contestants had to come up with their best celebrity impersonation. Guest judges actress and comedian Aisha Tyler and Amber Rose (a model and video vixen who used to date Kanye West...

Last year on RuPaul’s Drag Race, one of the best episodes of the season was when Ru introduced The Snatch Game, a riff on the ’70s and ’80s staple The Match Game. You fans likely remember, but the episode very memorably saw queens like EW fave Pandora Boxx imitate Carol Channing and Tatianna take on Britney Spears. Last night was this year’s edition, and we saw Shangela take on Tina Turner, Delta Work do Cher (kinda poorly), Manila Luzon put on her best Imelda Marcos, Raja channel her inner Tyra Banks, and so on.
