FX has finally set a premiere date for its Great Expectations limited series from writer/executive producer Steven Knight. The six-part adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic novel will premiere on Sunday, March 26, 2023 on Hulu with the release of the first two episodes.
The cast was announced in February 2022 and the first two official photos arrived in July 2022. FX chose to announce the premiere date on Charles Dickens’s birthday.

Great Expectations, Steven Knight’s anticipated return to the world of Charles Dickens, has debuted its first teaser trailer (check it out above). The FX/BBC adaptation stars Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham and Fionn Whitehead as Pip along with Tom Sweet as the young Pip. Exclusive: We hear that Oscar nominee Tom Hardy and Atlanta Primetime Emmy nominee Zazie Beetz are set to star in the Apple TV+ drama series Lazarus, a project which is still nearing development and closing deals. The project is a co-production between A+E Studios and Range Studios and being sold to Apple.

FX and BBC have announced the main cast for the upcoming “Great Expectations” limited series, Variety has learned.
The six-episode version of the Charlies Dickens classic will star: Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham, Fionn Whitehead as Pip, Ashley Thomas as Jaggers, Johnny Harris as Magwitch, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Estella, Hayley Squires as Sara, Owen McDonnell as Compeyson, and Matt Berry as Mr. Pumblechuck.
Steven Knight is writing and executive producing the series. Tom Hardy, Ridley Scott, Dean Baker, David W. Zucker, Kate Crowe, and Mona Qureshi for the BBC will also executive produce. Jonah Hill is stepping behind the camera again with another topic close to his heart. After his 2018 directorial debut Mid90s, which was an autobiographical look at a young boy’s coming of age amongst a group of skaters, Hill will be directing a documentary for Netflix about therapy, using his own therapist as the focus.
